  1. Hi littleones! Your house is so pretty!!! p/s wanna join us in the Clementi thread? http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23209
  2. Higher floor... hmm I guess it should be alright bah. I bought my own home.
  3. Hey Clement08! Wow... SERS... your block got selected for SERS? For a long time I was wondering if mine would kena, because the ones opposite mine were selected... in the end we got selected for LUP and now waiting for the ballot to be announced. But nice leh, right at the interchange, which is so convenient! Some more can watch your new home coming up right in front of your eyes! Yup, I'm still staying in Clementi. Think even after I move out of my current home, I will be looking for a flat in the same area... maybe a little closer to the MRT station and away from the main road... sunset way, 19 years! Isn't 110 near to the Daily Scoop? Like that can go and eat ice cream everyday! Maybe we should organise an ice-cream outing!
  4. Yeah! I like having lots of space, because I grew up in homes with big spaces (or maybe it felt bigger because I was smaller? ), but dunno why I seem to end up getting drawn to long and narrow spaces. I don't know if you find yourself doing this, but sometimes when I'm trying to figure out if a certain layout will work, I'll start pulling out rulers and measuring, and then walking around to see if it's comfortable. You can use floorplanner to measure the distance between your table and the back of the study area, and then determine if that is enough space.
  5. Hey! Same layout as mine (though mine is slightly broader and doesn't have the room right at the back...lucky you!) I kind of prefer Layout 1, but I'm just a bit concerned that the space is a bit narrow when you get up from your desk.
  6. Wah 18 years... I used to stay relatively near Clementi (lived at Toh Tuck) before moving here 3 years ago.
  7. Wow! The 3Ds look good! Hope your reno goes smoothly! Just to note that you might want to block out the bottom part of the original floor plan in your first post... if that's your unit number and block there...
  8. Risis! Is that a concrete screed flooring for your MBR toilet? Nicee.....
  9. Hi, can someone also PM the contact? Thanks!
  10. Some more close to Sunset Way wor.... My hb and I will once in a (LONG LONG LONG) while take a long walk there.
  11. 340... Is that near the big canal? I like that place!!! I once viewed a unit at 339, and liked it a lot! But when my hb and I tried to make an offer 2 days after viewing, they said it was sold liao. So fast... I love Clementi though! Lots of very good food all over the place! How long have you been staying there?
  12. Hullo Pomme! Ya, still counted.... Wow... must be very noisy wor... from my side I can't really hear the getai, but my house instead is very dusty, cuz it's right next to the track and the main road.
  13. Hullo! Is there anyone else living in Clementi? I'm at Block 364...
  14. Design-wise, you don't need a permit--I'm designing my house more or less by myself as well. But it's a bit harder, as you need to have a bit more of a working knowledge of what can and can't be done, what are the strengths and weaknesses of the materials you intend to use, as well as more planning required. The works itself you cannot carry out, they must be carried out by a HDB approved contractor. But the liaising with the various contractors (window and door contractor, tiler etc) you should be able to carry those out. Just make sure you are clear of the sequence of the works to be done la! Don't end up your electrician come after your false ceiling is up liao that kind of thing... Hacking of floor and wall requires a licensed contractor. For wall, you will also need a permit.
  15. Hey merryman, Could I get Lynn's contact from you please? Thanks!
  16. Hey Eric, Try Edmund from DX Interior. I'm doing about the same amount of things as you and I got a rough quote of around that amount. But do note that mine is a 3 room flat.
  17. Hi! Could I bother you for your contractor's contact as well? Thanks!
  18. Also, do note that water supply in Vietnam is still not as clean as Singapore, so at all times drink bottled water. It's cheap, anyway, not more than 8000VND (and frequently less)
  19. Hmm, mine is a different concern altogether. My home's kitchen is the same width as yours, and I also originally intended to do an island kitchen (with my stove, like yours, also located on the island). But when I did the math, assuming that the width of the cabinetry and island are the standard 60cm each, that would leave you with about 1.6m of space to negotiate around the kitchen, which might be a little tight. Maybe you might want to try a galley kitchen format?
  20. Hey! I'm also headed for the industrial look as well! Though not too hardcore... concrete screed is nice! I'd also printscreen, save as jpg and upload to photobucket too.
  21. Wooo~~~ Congrats on getting your own pad! Love 3 rooms. Nice layout too!
  22. Cool! My reno is still a long way away, trying to save up as much cash as possible so don't have to go for bank loan... maybe April 2010? Hey Ivy, I'm at Ave 2, Blk 364. Right next to the MRT!
  23. Hi stormcontrol, Mine's not a new flat, it's a resale in Clementi, so yup.
  24. Hey, does anyone know if Ah Soon is familiar with doing concrete screed flooring? Because I'm thinking of having that as my flooring (as opposed to laminates/ tiles etc). Thanks!
