  1. Is it going to be a designer unit DKNY? Oh just noted...it's DNKY. hehehe. Do show us more pics....
  2. yapyap, I think he meant Oct 2009 lah. 7.57am too early to write on forum for some lah. hehehehe World Peace ya
  3. Oh I have thought about that too. Thus, I have instructed our contractor to customised our unit in the same dimension as the IKEA Pax system. This will allow us to add some accesories on our own should we need to do so along the way. Several forummers has also done so. Do take a look at this forummer who bought the wire basket from IKEA to fit into her customised wardrobe. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...=2437&st=80 In addition, the internal of our wardrobe will also be the same material as our external as ours is a walk-in-wardrobe without doors. Nonetheless, the few agreement which we have agreed on prior to the work are as:- 1. Able to fix IKEA's pax accessories 2. Able to install door should we change our mind along the way. 3. Built-In wardrobe can still be mobile should we wish to relocate it down the years. Here's a glimpse of our design...pretty much an IKEA idea but with quality. Do note the warranty issues is only on technical faults. Should the platform collapse due to over weight or mis-handling, IKEA will not be responsible. It's your choice lah at the end of the day.
  4. Plenty wor. What's your budget and requirements?
  5. Hey welcome. I loved EMs too...except when come to the cleaning lah Which part of BP you staying? Welcome to the neighbourhood. I am at Segar.
  6. Hi, we were planning to get this initially. In fact, we toyed with their software so many times to piece together the ideal wardrobe we want. However, we dropped the idea as of 2 weeks ago and decided to go for carpentery instead. The reason is because IKEA Pax is not very much cheaper as compared to what the contractor can do for us. Of course, the total cost will depend on the complexity of your combination within. You have to add the $50 transportation cost and the 6-7% assembily fee. It will amount to quite a fair bit. Unless you want a very simple wardrobe, otherwise I think it's safer to go with carpentery. Carpentery wood are more sturdy. Our contractor is charging us by p.s.f. Whatever we want to do within, any combination...also no extra charge. For $400-$500 more, I would rather go with carpentery.
  7. Hi, I have found a installer for wallpapers and am wondering if anyone has any lobang where I can get wallpaper at a cheaper price? Goodrich and Senjenco...besides them, who else sell wallpapers in Singapore huh?
  8. heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy I have always dream about a baby grand in our place too but since it's not possible (logistically and financially)...I guessed I have to settle with my old digi piano. What's your damage? Actually with your space, you can buy a grand mah...why baby grand?
  9. How does this Ikea Panel thingy looks like? You have pics? Where do you intend to put huh?
  10. On the part of increasing the value of the house with the change of the toilet bowls are crap lah. Never heard of it before leh. Ok, for those who do not want to go through the hassle of changing the toilet bowl, may I suggest you change the seat cover at least? Cheap cheap only. Think less then $25 can get one. Trust me, I did tourism/hospitality in school and work in a hotel before...you never want to know the condition of those things that were left behind by the guests after usage. That includes the white white towels you get in a 5 stars hotel. kekeke
  11. ya ya Walk away is my first solution. If I am still thinking about it after a couple of days/weeks...then it means I can consider buying. This will prevent a little bit of impulsive buying.
  12. Hi Honeygal, Your contractor did not spell out your limits when you select your laminate? Like for our case when we chose HB, Patrick did informed us of the range which we can select from our quotation. For example, he told us we can select any laminates which are below $5 (for example, but cannot remember the exact amount). But he was really nice to inform us that if we chose something that is $5+, he can also do it for us at no extra cost. It's a give & take suitation. Maybe if you were to go thru HB for carpentery you may not have that problem, you reckon? I second Pinkpetter's comment on China made products. I think 80% of the stuff are made in China nowadays. Most of the Europe brands have their plants in China for Asia.
  13. Hi asianms, I know what you mean but my fiance knows me well and he is not wrong. You can never trust women. We take most materialised things as shoes leh. Never one too many. So chances are, I see something better will happen and it will be replaced in no time. wahaha... That's how we end up with tons of things we dun use...
  14. Its very expensive. We planned to have those actually but a role of it comes out to almost $1-2K. So we drop the idea.
  15. Hey pinkpetter, you can ask them to check for you when is the shipment one. Sometimes it's reflected in their system one. As for the placemat, it's pretty. I also saw 1 pack of 4 coasters selling at Molecule with similar Baroque designs which I like but the price is horrendous! $48! That means $12 per piece of coaster. My finance says it's more expensive then the can of beer he intend to use them on
  16. Hi, eh...dun take offence on the arco lamp hor. If u like it, u should have it. All house owners should take pride in all their work and designs and outsider's comments are only secondary. Like what we learnt thru our reno process...you can never please everyone lor. Even my fiance and I do have slight differences in preference when come to the house reno part, but we managed to settle for something in between. But I won most of it lah. hehehe As for the Louis Ghost, eh...it's either the real thing or never. wahaha. I am a female lah. I know I wun feel good carrying a fake Louis Vuitton. wahaha. My friend owns 6 of the louis ghost and visible lines were seen in barely 6 months. Even the Kartell manager told us of that possibility leh. Nonetheless, we still took a risk to get the stone stool for our house as the effect of the pattern on the stone will make it less visible if scratched. Oh word of advice from my friends who own those chairs...guys/gals with button or zip on their pants/skirt are the worst culprits. His was scratch from a friend who wore a jeans with button on the bump. hahaha. Prevention is better then cure lor. You inviting us over to see huh? hehehe. I am at Strathmore almost every Friday for MJ with my friends lor. She stays at Blk 48.
  17. Seems like it's getting common in Ikea hor? Many things always out of stock. I have been faced with it like 4-5 times since my reno process liao. The worst hit was when I was told certain things I saw and planned to get are DIS-CONTINUED. Faint... Have you check the other branch? Do they have your item?
  18. Hi Redang, Well done and congrats on your newly accomplished reno project. I agree with the rest...your kitchen ROCKS! The slanted lines made it very modern and contemporary. Cannot wait to see the result of your MBR wallpaper as we have also short-listed Glamour for our MBR wallpaper. Were you served by Goodrich or did you laise with your ID on it. I also think you had a great acomplishment on your crockery purchase. Neat and good buys I must say. Many of your furnishing blends in quite well. Like your wifey, I am a fan of Louis Ghost and Victorian Ghost but the possible scratch marks put us off from buying sob sob. Only thing I have not subscribe to is... the arco light...which I thought dun quite belong. Hmmm. But I am sure it looks better in actual then in photo lah. hehehe. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...I am green with envious of your 'concealing job'. Loved the idea you hide your heater on top of your bathroom and you conceal it. So nice. My fiance din allow me to conceal that in fear of some safety element. arggggggggggg Keep us posted eh?
  19. Wah bro...seems like you have a MAJOR Face Lift project boy! But it should be fun and challenging. Most importantly, the results will surely be fulfilling. Have fun with the process.

  21. Hey hi Mr. Chong, any luck on the readings? The hotel is chasing us for our dates. Sorry to trouble you...cos seems like time is running short
  22. Don't look back sister. There will be rainbows ahead of us. As I mentioned on my own thread earlier, most contractors will not give advice or alternatives. We have to be specific in telling them what we want. That's why we did a lot of home work before and during the process. But Patrick will only voice out if your idea is not feasible or impose any dangers along in the long run. Your carpentry, Electricals and Aluminimum works is not done by Ho Bee? Where did you get the referral from?
