Vinyl flooring can be one the alternative of flooring if you have some limited budget. It is cheaper than any other tiles or marble. Besides that, the installation is also quiet easy that you can even do it yourself. But, how to maintaining this floor? 1. Regular Cleaning 2. Regular Prevention Is that right? Let discuss in this topic of Maintaining Vinyl Flooring

Hi Guys, was thinking of overlaying my HDB tiles with laminate flooring but seems like there are a number of companies selling/promoting the products in many different ways. 1) Evorich (HERF) 2) Woodculture (BERRY ALLOC | RIVIERA) 3) Floorrich (EGGER / PERGO) 4) Floordepot (4G WATERPROOF LAMINATE) 5) Kronotex Anybody has experience with the above..? Which will be the best recommendation for HDB BTO flat...? Thank you.

Hi, I have been searching high and low for a DIY flooring guide in Singapore, but couldn't find any. I hope anyone can help me with this. Anyway, I'm pretty new in living on my own. My husband and I have decided to rent a place on our own and due to budget constrain we finally choose an old studio unit in Telok Blangah. To make it a little nicer and comfy, we really wanted to re paint the whole apartment and change the current PVC flooring which is old and sticky and too flowery for us. Again due to budget constrain, we are planning to DIY, but we couldn't seem to find a place where we could buy the new flooring without needing to package it with an installer. 1. Can anyone give us some advice on what type of flooring is best or us, in term of pricing, easiest to install and last the longest. 2. Where can we buy the type of flooring? Or at least where to buy a PVC flooring to replace our old ones. Thank you in advance or the inputs

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and hoping someone can help me. I have a 4 bedroom HDB flat and planned to do either a Vinyl or laminated flooring (to be decided) for 3 bedrooms. Unfortunately, i have to put my renovation plans on hold for next 1 year but still plans to carry on with HDB's free cement screeding. HDB had came back asking me for thickness of screeding to apply, and advised that I should check with my ID on their flooring requirements. As I don't have an ID now, I'm unable to answer HDB's question on the required thickness. I just know that the total thickness must not exceed 50mm. Can anyone advise me what the typical or safe thickness to provide to HDB, considering that I might go with Vinyl or laminated flooring in future? would 30mm be a good figure? Many thanks for your help. cheers.

Help, My Parquet Is Damaged From Water Moisture
tanwill posted a topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
Dont know what to say..... just discover my room parquet was damaged from water moisture (near the toilet door). Total affect area about 2metre x 2 metre. Parquet is covered with carpet. As i am doing damage control now, wondering if i can DIY and chisel out the damage parquet, and than replace with waterproof laminate, WPC, decking or worst self lay some tiles with cement ? [The damage area is quite small and i have trouble getting contract to do the job]. Update : just got a contractor to access the damage. I was hoping the area can be repaired with new parquet. Was advised to hack out the whole room parquet (than means the built in cabinate got to go too !) and replaced with tiles as the source of water is unknown. Seow liao Any expert advise here appreciated. Thanks.
