The Maxtor 1TB cost $550+ while the 1.5TB cost $750+. I have 2 of these now and yes pictures does takes up lots of space and you might want one as a hot backup (else just burn on lots of DVD).

I prefer the picture output (according to my eye) of the reflective panel of the PV70 as compared to the non-reflective panel of the PV700. Also not really need 3 HDMI yet as 2 is enough for now and the SDHC reader (nice to have) and PIP capabilities. Not really need the SRS sound as got a better HT speaker system. I went with the PV70 mainly also for the all black border and cheaper price.

The features PV700 has over PV70 are:

1 ) Contrast Automatic Tracking System (C.A.T.S.)

2 ) Picture Mode: "Auto"

3 ) Smart Sound Speaker System

4 ) Speakers: Woofer (80 mm round) x 2 (L, R); Tweeter (23 x 100mm) x 2 (L, R) vs Full-Range x 2

5 ) Audio Output: 31W ([13W + 2.5W] x 2) vs 20W (10W x 2)

6 ) SRS TruSurround XT

7 ) SDHC Memory Card Slot

8 ) HDMI Input: 3 (1 front 2 rear) vs 2

9 ) Multi Window: PIP/PAT/PAP (2-tuner)

10) Anti-Glare screen

so u bought the Pan 70 or Pan 700??
