Suunto has a more accurate compass, KB-14, 0.5 degree resolution, last time I bought about $300. KB-20 is 1 degree resolution, S$80, few years ago.

How is the old owner, can you feel whether they are in good "shape" both health and wealth? Where is the current stove, any water features where? do they use to open their main door when they inside, is the balcony door and window open?

they are on a divorce case..

The whole house is coutry style reno. a bit dark inside. i'm going to take down the wall between the kitchen and living as well as the wall between the kitchen and service balcony. should be moving in end of march or beginning of april. will be renovating almost the whole house...

don't think have any "water" feature cause they are not chinese. i will be removing the balcony wall as well. more open concept... and my theme is bright warm so most of the wall are in white...

Fengshui has a basic concept of "front" and "Back", for your case, "front" is your balcony "facing" side, "back" is your service balcony and kitchen side, in fengshui term "sitting".

So this one applies to square buildings? How about rounded building or point block?

round building is inherently a complicated case, I will avoid, until I am very sure that there is a confirmed workable solution.

Point block is still square, above method can still be used.

to tell you straight, if you take down kitchen and service balcony walls, then the air coming in from the front balcony opening is flowing straught through out off the back service balcony opening, bad fengshui.
