Hose For Cylinder Gas

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Need help ! Was told by my ID that my entire blk does not have city gas !! :o

Much to my dismay !! Now don't have a choice but to use the bulky cylinder gas arghhh...

Problem is , I wish for the gas to be located underneath the sink , which my ID says it's not a problem,

but my kitchen cabinet is U shaped , means my cooker hob is in the middle , ID is afraid there's no hose long

enough to attach from hob to gas.

So need to know , does the cylinder gas normally have a standard hose length ?

Where can I find a longer hose ? :dunno:

Normally for gas hose I go to Kelantan Road HDB shops.. got a few shops specialises in hoses.

Under the sink got bottle trap. Can fit standard size upright gas tank? Bottletrap kind of fragile. Even if can fit, to get hit by the gas tank during changing.. can be quite a disaster.

Bottle trap is in the middle , the gas will be at the side , probably get the 10kg gas , coz it's smaller.

Thks again !! ;)

i also wanted to put the gas cylinder underneath my sink...carpenter not in favour..afraid that while changing the gas cylinder, we would accidentally hit the water pipe behind it...will be disaster...but i cant place it beside the oven...which oven is underneath the hob...scare too close..too hot will explore..

sigh

I had done abit of study on this b4. Gas tank is in rather standard height+width. My 12.7kg tank measures 30cm wide, 60cm high.

If u noticed coffee shop design, they have a series of tanks located outside somewhere, then they run metal pipes leading into the cooking area. So the gas man just come and change the tanks outside.

for your design, if u really really paranoid abt hitting the drain pipe, you can ask carpenter to do a inverted L-shape to compartmentise the gas tank from the sink drain loop.
