Copied the idea from some warehouse right...? Haha yes loved the laminates. white paint and white laminate makes the place looks bigger! also help in getting us to vacuum more frequently as every hair stands out on white laminates... haha... hmm i can't recall where i copied from...haha, i remember googling for "pallet furniture" images. Many came out... some got pallet bed even... pallet shoe rack is quite useful actually, can put the shoes we want to air outside and those that we wear frequently... gimz63251073 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2010 Issue with CNS continued: We found rust, sprayed black paint on it, but the paint does not fully stick onto the rust. So we tried this: Apparantly, the stuff will make the rust turn black and it acts as a primer for re-painting. Lucky for us our door is black so lazy us shall do away with painting once again. After effect:

After my terrible spray painted bird cages, I didn't dare to spray paint anymore. I had actually wanted to spray paint the water drainage cover in grey ( bought the spray paint) but still haven't dared yet. Would you consider leaving the tires black as contrast to your white furniture? Edited October 19, 2010 by curryqueen
gimz63251073 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2010 Hey Gimz, long time no see..!R u going to paint the metal poles of your bookshelf white too? that would be so cool! After my terrible spray painted bird cages, I didn't dare to spray paint anymore. I had actually wanted to spray paint the water drainage cover in grey ( bought the spray paint) but still haven't dared yet. Would you consider leaving the tires black as contrast to your white furniture? has been busy enjoying my house, busy dating wife (go out like we used to)... etc think will leave the poles as it is in grey, not very confident of painting that rods...i reckon i have spent quite a fair bit on spray paints.. haha...i think spray water drainage is should be ok, just need to tape up the areas properly... wifey is of the opinion that we leave it as black. We going to find people to help us cut a round piece of wood to put on the top. The bottom will fix castors to make it movable. We also bought tire shine, hope to get a good result... both our parents had already raised concerns about what the tires are for... haha Preserving the tires I think preserving the tires is quite meaningful. These are actually from my dad's car, which we used to go around dating, shopping for flats, shopping for reno stuff and tons of DIY self carry from IKEA, etc. So i hope to preserve the good memories. ps: ur house looks great!! must be enjoying every moment of it! gimz63251073 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2010 New project: DIY Chalkboard. Steps: 1. Buy wood from Hiap Hin (jurong east). 70cm by 50cm by 5mm - $8 The wood's condition varied. Some wood we got was good, some not so good. But overall their service was good and fast. 2. Paint with white matex paint as base. Left to dry for a week. 3. Enter the Chalkboard paint! (From Spot light - Plaza Sing. $16 thereabouts) 4. After one thin coat and one thick coat of chalkboard paint, left to dry for about 3 days. YAY!
