Thanks for your compliment...and yes and sorry that the chosen one is really ugly for a big pieces of area....To get a rustic matt cement tile, there should be actually quite a few models to choose instead. As Presently, I not at the tiles shops to give u the model, but I did saw these type of tiles before but not sure if it was to your liking. Will take and post it at your t-blog when I get it. :yamseng:

Hi Jaskel

Liked your Formica 2mm glossy laminate for your kitchen cabinets. Wanted to do the same for mine too but strong objections from family. Said it will peel due to heat in kitchen when cooking. What's your experience on this?

Also like your living room tiles but family said it looked like Kettler showroom tiles. I really like the glossy effect. Do you know if they come in other colours for these series of tile?

Thanks.

So far, so good. done 0.7mm glossy laminate at one of my house owners and so far, no peeling occurs.

As for the tiles, sorry, only come in this colour, but there are other colours with different veins that u might consider at too. :yamseng:

Bedrooms floor tiles

<img src="http://img848.imageshack.us/img848/3090/p1020853.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

This is a ECOwood homo. tiles 90x15cm, with texture on the surface so a bit different from other wood tiles which either smooth surface or some dimension that is different for those wood flooring.

Pros - Lasting than wood flooring and still give u the look and feel of wood flooring. No worry on wrapping, termite, water, scratches, etc...

Cons - The floor will feel a bit cold for the feet unlike wood flooring. More expensive @ $7.50psf. Unevenness in the center part of the tiles as often occur for bigger and longer pcs

Now that you've lived with your wood tiles for quite a while, how do they feel? Are they indeed cold? Can people immediately guess that they aren't real wood? (I'm guessing, yes).

They feel ok for my family. Not that cold, seriously I didn't notice that, maybe used to it already :).

Immediate guess is no. I'm having wood tiles becos my wife like wood, but I also know the cons of laminate and parquet, furthermore I have two kids.

It all weighted down to look, practical and lasting for me to decide using the wood tiles for the bedrooms.

Switching on whole house in the region of 200-300W is consider low already. for an average eg. 8 downlight @living, 2 tube each with a wattage of 13W = 208W. Dining light, hanging, 3 halo bulb @ 20W each =60W. Kitchen, 2 ceiling light, 40W each =80W, 1 Bedroom light each @ 40W = 120W. Bathroom light 32W each @ 64W. Total = 532W.

So the LED replacement cost is a bit more initial but long term maybe cost saving. now still in experimental stage.

Hi Jaskel,

Been following this forum and I love what you did for your new home's lighting. I just got a place (now waiting for 1st appt) and is thinking of rewiring the whole place with energy saving lights or LED. Does LED lights cost lesser in long term? Or just stick to energy saving lights?

Do you have any suggestions and know any good electrician who can do this job?

Thanks!
