The induction stove uses electricity correct? If cook everyday and brew soup etc. will it be more expensive than using gas cooker?

My bro-in-law new house using induction cooker by Taiyo and also they seldom cook and he likes eating Maggi mee. That day he show me, the boiling up of water is quite fast.

I just got my TH-IB229.

It produces a buzzing and clicking sound when I on it to do some cooking. Can i check if fellow TH-IB229 owners also experience the same?

I have tried other induction hobs and they seems to be quite quiet

Hope to hear from you guys soon

The TH-IB229 is one of the few induction hobs that can run on a 13 Amp line right?

Anyone with other suggestions?

Hawthorne, has the issue with the hob been resolved yet?

I think the it is normal that the hob creates a humming sound when it is on. A read online and there are other hobs that makes a sound as well.

After a while got used to it already. So not so much as issue already.

The hob is still good. Water boils in < 1 min :good:

Hi hawthorne.. I also bought the same induction hob, please provide more reviews on the hob

Hi kevenang, Yes, it is the rare few that runs on a 13AMP.

That's the main reason for the purchase too...

Hi whitefantasy, I bought a Taiyo pressure cooker for stewing/ brewing soups, though I have not used it but heard from friends that it "cooks" very fast and for stewing, the meat are very tender :P (I tasted it myself :P )

Be aware that induction cooker doesn't work on clay pots.

Induction Cooker is so much better!!! Less warm in the kitchen, and also safer!!! No need to worry about gas leak. And it takes a much shorter time to boil a pot of water

Just that when u use induction, remember to bring a magnet when u shop for pots and pans. Make sure the magnet can stick onto the pots or pans. If not it won't work on induction hob

Yup, I have opt for induction. Run on 16amp instead of 13amp. New bto hdb can only run up to 16amp. Means two zone. Landed and private and old hdb(need to apply permit from hdb) can go up to 30amp. 5 zone inductions.

2cts worth.
