When Industrial Meets Mid Century Mod

When you collecting keys?

Makanology asked about the vintage lamp I bought. So here goes -

It's quite 'cui', some parts of the paint is gone but doesn't this add on to the vintage charm? Hehe :sport-smiley-018:

Nice lamp!

All the best with the renovation process (you haven't started right? I'm getting so confused with the threads :P)!

Thanks for your responses! I did a simple "rendering" with my limited photoshop skills...

YUMMY!!!!!

I think you can definitely work a white kitchen with those tiles!!! It'll be so cheerful to cook in!

I'm actually looking for some real antique ones I want to mount on canvas as art for my kitchen!

Thanks for the compliments! I don't intend to touch up the lamp, i like its current cui look! :sport-smiley-018:

Got the keys and went down our place after work today. As expected there is no electricity, so we use our hp flash light as we walk around. But just had a short "walk" in living room and kitchen, scaredy cat me don't dare to venture further, got out asap. Will meet our contractor there tomorrow :sport-smiley-004:

Finally went down our place today, in daytime when there's plenty of natural light of course :P Utilities uncle came down too cos we used express service. Hehe. :sport-smiley-018:

Ok guys, need some help / suggestions here! I intend to place a bench and dining table parallel and close to the wall on the left, right beside the kitchen. So will move the pendant lighting point further to the left from its current position. Opposite the dining table where the mirror is now, I will have two book shelves placed here.

I will have 3 pendant lights over the dining table and either downlights or tracklights shining at the book shelves. Our contractor says there is no space for ceiling fan in the dining area. So am considering to install Vento Fino wall-mount fan somewhere above the dining bench, perhaps at the corner where the beam meets the wall behind dining bench.

What do u guys think of this arrangement? Is the ceiling too messy? I thought the Vento Fino looks pretty cool and will blend in with the overall look of our dining table. If I use tracklight instead of downlight on the ceiling in front of book shelves, does this add to the clutter?

The space for your dining table and bookshelves seem small. I think it will look cluttered for the wall-mounted fan, pendant lamps (the flower lamps?) and the track lights. Too many things hanging from the ceiling? Maybe focus on one key thing that you feel deserve the most attention?

Using the red caged lamps. Hmm... actually i feel the space is quite big leh. Bookshelves are very shallow to begin with.

That wall fan is actually quite small, 330cm wide x 440cm height incl rod. Er... if not wall mounted fan, I have to place a floor standing fan somewhere cos I don't wanna on aircon everytime I eat :P

Your dining bench / chairs will be placed in the recessed area of the wall? It does seem quite big on a second look. I also recall that your table is quite 'slim' and if your bookshelves are 'slim' and the tracks are directly above them, then perhaps it should be ok. Furthermore your cute red lamps are not big so won't look cumbersome.
