How Does Portable Aircon Fair Nwsaday?

Hi,

Weather has been veri hot recently. I have a 3 in 1 inverter for all rooms except living room. Mine is a resale old flat, tats y I couldn't install a second compressor.

Tot of buying a 12000 - 14000 btu portable aircon for my living room as a temporary solution because I will be shifting to new flat 3 yrs from now.

I understand previously there were some negative feedbackw and threads that post abt portable aircons. (2 to 3 yrs ago)

But I wonder how does portable aircon fare nwsaday?

I am sure that technology should be always improving (Eg. the new models doesn't require user to pour away the water tray compared to the old technology.)

So is it still as bad as before?

In term of noise? electrical efficiency? Cooling efficiency?
