ThomaOng077 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2014 Hi,I stay in a five room flat, met the minumin occupancy period. The maximun no. of tenants I can rent out is 9pax, according to HDB rules. To increase privacy and maximise rental to different people, can each room be partition with wooden plank? What is HDB guideline on this?I searched HDB website, there don't seem to be anything on this.My neighbours are doing this, but I am not sure if its illegal.ThanksThomas

Which is the right dept in HDB to send query to? Edited December 27, 2014 by ThomaOng077

Which is the right dept in HDB to send query to?For HDB matters, I usually logged on with SingPASS, write....photo....receipts.....then cc to town council. So far,3-4 cases liaoReply from both super first, they called me.Personally, i don't see the wooden partition is an issue so long as safety not compromised - minimum lean on it with xxx tonnes still withstand. Of course cannot exceed total 9pax.... Edited January 1, 2015 by bepgof
Simon1974 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2015 I think wooden partition is not a problem as it is not a permanent fixture. I remember only permanent fixture is not allow if you did not ask HDB permission beforehand. Anything removal is allow but wooden partition may be a fire concern and not allow by the fire department or the insurance company so better check with all before doing anything.
