Recommended Posts

what is the brand of air-con u are getting?

If u are using that 24K BTU in u living room then it will be better to use a single unit for it.

The other 3 units will be another one.

What is ur combination of ur system 3? 12000BTU and 2x9000BTU or all 9000BTU?

For single split 24000BTU $1.3K sound ok.

But still need to know what model will u be taking and also will be good to ask for the warrenty their servicing how many times free here and there? Got freebies? :notti:

What is included in the installation like below:-

1) the thickness of the insulation

2) grade of class use ?

3) what is the gadge (copper pipe) use ? is it gadge 23 ?

4) is it using "3 cord 70" wiring cable ?

5) is the drainage pipe insulation all the way ?

what do you meant?

swatdila, their inverter model is only up to 15KBtu/h. I just received a call from one of the aircon man, he told me the 24KBtu/h inverter is coming out, not sure how true is it. Going to contact panasonic again to double confirm. inverters are freaking expensive!:notti:!

anyway, envio model has nothing to do with inverter, it's their e-ion feature with patrol function. Suggest you go and get the catalogue to find out more. I think it is more power savings and quieter compared to similar models from other brands.

I'm piggy-backing on this thread to ask some questions and gain some knowledge about selecting split air con units.

a) What makes you decide system 3 versus system 2? If it's a system 3, and all 3 units will be switched on at the same time, this will stress the condenser, correct? If the need is to have all 3 air con units switched on at night, would it be wiser to get individual units with its own comdensers?

b) what is the difference between compressors and condensers?

c) Is an inverter air con really that much better in energy saving?

Thanks in advance. I look forward to your replies.

it doesn't matter if it's system 2, system 3, system 4 or single split unit. the thing is, HDB can only install maximum up to 2 compressors.

If you're staying in landed property or maybe some condo, you can install more compressors, so single unit can be used for each of your aircon fancoil. the total cost is more expensive as the installation is higher for single split unit vs multisplit unit.

a) multisplit unit system only came out due to space constraint, if there is a choice, of course it's better to use single split for all fancoil, but as I said, the cost is higher. If you want to turn on all fancoil at the same time, the total cooling capacity must be supported by the compressor unit. For example, if you have 3 fancoil that runs at 6KBtu/h, you need a compressor of 18KBtu/h to 20KBtu/h to support all at 1 time, otherwise, you can only turn on 2 of them. In the case of HDB, we got no choice if we need to install 3 to 4 fancoil.....

b)wa uhm zai.....Condenser? is it a term used in refrigerator?

c)the debate of inverter has been going on and on and what I can say is, if you're a person that support green project and want to protect our earth, yet you want to enjoy aircon, just go ahead to use inverter. If you're looking at cost savings, forget about it, there is almost no return of investment. You need to spend more to save more, so, what's the point? Save the world, dun turn on aircon :D
