noahfloatingzoo 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2007 hii strongly recommend ELIM KINDERGARTEN , along serangoon near st michael rd. kindergarten is a good christian school ..teaches our darlings well thru biblical way ( we jus wan our kids grow up happy, not thru shouting n screaming like some fed up teachers)my opinion: - its dedicated teachers can offer full attention to our kids since class size is not big like some sch.tats wat is impt at tis young age esp when they constantly on their movesi ask my girlfren to chk out, she brot her 2 kids along n immediately they fell in love. ( do lots activities tat day, planting n learning thru outdoor)her lil girl tell her mum wan new sch, like new sch.. apparently my girlfren realise her nursery girl stil duno A-Z, her puggol neighbourhood sch dun organise outdoor nor teaching thru play. now she's happy in elim kindergarten.n learn thru play Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Parents are to note that: (1) By January 2006, all pre-school principals are required to have a Diploma in Pre-school Education-Teaching (DPE-T), a Diploma in Pre-school Education-Leadership (DPE-L) and at least two years of relevant experience in the pre-school sector. Next year she will be turning 3 so thought of enroling her in Talent plus or others near to our house. The factors for consideration:1) The quality of the teacher eg, experience, patience, qualification...etc2)The ratio in the class eg 1 to 6 children or 8 children3) Location of the school4) School fee monthly or per semester.5) The curriculumI will be scouting around and visiting schools and talking to teachers to find out more. When I got my girl into current playgroup, I gone through the similar process and found that the teachers are very patient and experience in dealing with toddlers. And my girl likes the teachers and is looking forward to go school. I hope she will be adapting as well if I change school for her next year.......By the way, did parents come across any preschools that you think is worth a visit? Pls share with us. Little Blue Bear 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2007 My consideration when looking for a Pre-school:1) what the kids will be learning in sch2) Distance (walking distance)3) Environment in Sch, Teachers4) whether my son like the CCC anotwhen i move in to my new house... there is one sch just few block away from mine block...abt 5 mins or less... (walking distance)but the sch fee is to exp... i didnt enroll my son in that CCCenroll him in another ccc abt 15 mins walk... and the sch fee is very very cheap ($290 per mth after sub)but i ask for teminate the 2nd day. and end up enroll him in the CCC just few block away from mine... Y? bec i was there in the CCC (not so exp CCC) for the whole day with my son... seeing him learn nothing much... so drop him off the very next day but hv to stay there for 1 mth b4 he can go the other CCC... also my son dont seem to like this CCC also as in the one mth there... he almost everyday say when he can go to the new CCCthe one he attend now... i can see him learn much more... also he is very happy there... cheers Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The PCF I registered my son in, are not being taught by aunties. I am sure even if they do not have the certificates, I am sure through their past experiences, they are capable to teach, Otherwise, PCF will not employ them since they are under part of government's wing.It is really up to each individual on how you look at things, the best arrangements, etc. to plan. You can check out from its website.As to regards playgroup, most of them are under private organisation, especially childcare centres which incorporate playgroup classes to choose from. Although the sessions are quite short on each day, the Teacher, class environment (cleanliness) and type of activities she plans for the children are very important. Get a few schools you are interested in, make appointment with them and discuss with the teacher and look around the facilities. Best to bring your kid around there to take a look and get him/her familarise with the school (you can more or less detech if your kid takes to the sch or teacher before you decide).For me, my son is currently attending playgroup. I search around my MIL hse area (son is currently taken care by her) and found one nearest to her in Clementi. Call it no choice, I had to registered him there asap last year regardless whether I like the teacher or the facilities or not coz it is very convenience for us, but hey, the teacher turns out very good, and my son's attitudes and learning skills improve a lot. On and off I will call teacher up to follow up on son's progress and so far, he is doing well. My only worries now is that next year, nursery for him will be at PCF with another different teacher.
