Hey Guys, I've just completed my renovation for my kitchen. Mind is a resale 3"A" model. I got to know this contractor from my new neighbour who engaged him to do their whole house renovation. After seeing the design and workmanship of my neighbour house, I decided to engage him to do my kitchen. As I'm a very lazy person ( on doing house work ), I want my kitchen design to be very simple. I'm quite happy with the price quoted and the workmanship are well accepted. http://renotalk.com/forum/uploads/gallery_59719_3_69649.jpg

Agree with OceanEleven on more plugs at feature wall. I have 4 plugs and still need to use extension. I should have gone for 5 or 6. Kitchen - doesn't you intend to put any plugs on the other side of the cabinet? I dedicate fridge, oven, microwave, water kettle , coffee maker and toaster to permanent plugs. Have 2 spare ones for other electrical items like rice cooker & pressure cooker. If your tall unit also house electric items than u need plugs there. My tall unit house oven and microwave so there are 2 plugs inside. Kitchen very important - u need to see what electrical items you use everyday (dedicate permanent plug to them) and which items u use occasionally.

Pink! Nice! Pink kitchens seem to be coming into trend (just saw the 3D pix of another renotalker with a full pink kitchen!) For the granite sink, we got ours from Royal Fanco (brand: Carysil). It is top-mount and we can't remember if it has undermount models. But the prices are lower than Blanco's single bowl basin (700x500mm) at $465 vs Carysil's single bowl (780x510mm) around $300. Naturally we took the cheaper option though it is made in India. After 9 months of heavy usage, our sink is going on fine!

My point of view is, for those bad and irresponsible company, we should shame them publicly for readers and potential new house owner to beware. As for those good and responsible one, we should PM instead of publishing openly because many self promoters in the forum, secondly, administrators might banned us for promoting , so I think PM is more appropriate.

Update: Day 37 Wow, it's been almost a month... still nothing much to update!! On the bright side, I really really love my dream walls~~~~ brick wall and 3D subway tiles~~ Wheeee....... I've a question here: should I paint the craftbricks white? Cement works are now completed, next up, ceiling works (i.e. box up).... painting, carpentry, flooring all pending in the queue....

The reason for a Forum, is for discussion to get the job done. Having PMs stop the discussions. There are no rights or wrong in construction, but better management will help a long way. Ps. I'm curious to know those bad eggs too.

Redmoonlight! Hi there! Same! my hubby not around most of the time in SG. so shopping is a chore to him. He is so practical and solution oriented that he will quickly and hurry to get things fron ONLY one location. Like settle once and for all. Adidaem, your hubby is so so so so so sweet! He knows u so well and will cheer u up in such a nice way. No wonder you get all the lovely stuff in your home and its all the time showroom status!! Shopping for furniture takes a lot a lot of time and need to go to the shop more than once. Need to feel it, touch it, take picture, and communicate with contractor and ID on the pieces selected. We are fortunate that JW gives valuable and practical suggestions that is tailored to our lifestyle. Not hard sell and want us to reno a lot alot that kind. Ours is really is just a small project, most ID firms dun even bother us.

Sounds more than it meets the eye.. marriage counseling or seeing a Dr (psychologist/ psychiatrist) might probably help. And yes, it takes two to make it happen.. if both want a long life marriage, both will needs to put in the efforts to resolve the issue. Hope this helps.
