  1. soojin it's more accurate to add (supply and install tiles) + (haulage fee). They should be added together to be the total tiling works cost. O/T: of coz those fridge base, cabinet base will be counted as additional charges.
  2. The guy only supply sand and clear your debris. Cement your own contractor will buy together with the tiles. For the quote, I suggest u see the whole package cost. Coz the cost can shift here and there de, this one cheap, the other expensive. Few quotes I got for 4rm 97m2 ranges from (Laying tiles + haulage) $4.7k to $5.3k
  3. haven't own an LCD b4. But heard it is like that when u watch normal TV channels on LCD. It'll only be clear if u watch DVD and above on LCD then will be super sharp. So trying playing some DVD and see first. Those shopping mall all shop clear clear picture is bcoz they all play DVD, noticed they never play Channel 5/8 those channels.
  4. The last part is true. There's a indian man there just to take care of providing sand and clearing your debris. Newly built estates are like that, centralised to 1 person. Old estate contractor do the buying of sand themselves, and bring the huge metal box to contain your debris (parked at carpark). That item will be called "Haulage fee" on your quotation. Back to the first part. Diff by 1k. Need to see what's the value of tiles they give... e.g up to $3psf tiles. Meaning u can select anything tiles up to value of $3psf. If u overshot, then u have to top up on top of the fee quoted to you. Clarify... maybe the 1k goes into there. My advice: get 2 more quote to get a better feel. Or even u can tell the other contractor "hey, why your competitor charge this fee".... then they will tell u the truth. 2) I know a fren paid deposit and withdrawn forfeit his deposit... but one man's meat is another's poison. 3) Can do without. Ask your pocket. 4) Seems like there's only one 1 way. U enter the door, u see the wardrobe. Wardrobe door facing window. 5) I only do MBR. No money for the rest -------------------------------------------------- Attention key holders, pls go back to check at your unit's gate for a letter from Starhub for an appointment to check your SCV connection. I got the letter today and the appointment date is this Friday
  5. Hi all, I'm looking for a System 3 (non-inverter). Expected super low usage. Target $1.8k Seems like with this price range, only few selections, narrowed down to Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Panasonic. Any comments or recommendations?
  6. someone did mentioned to you that it's called Terrazzo flooring, not broken marble. Found some pictures for you: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qi...20185107AAlncTq You can call and ask: http://www.streetdirectory.com/businessfin...;branchid=65476
  7. The kerb has nothing to do with the frameless door. #1: Most contractor do a kerb because when they lay living room tiles till it meets the kitchen tiles, high chance they both are not level. So they put a kerb there to make the un-level-ness "disappear". #2: Some say kitchen is wet area, sometimes need to wash, so put a kerb there to prevent water from coming into living room. My house special we request don't want the kerb, coz we saw other houses some did quite high kerb. Ours turns out indeed had some slight uneveness, one side high, one side low. The tiler told me kitchen tile done by HDB was slightly tilted for water flow. I'm fine with the very slight uneveness, so If u don't like the kerb, then ask the tiler to remove it. But bear in mind my experience above.
  8. and what was the solution that took many days to solve?
  9. No, that's why never tio Toto... Gahment give free, Rigel.
  10. Toto used already may strike Toto. Go to Poh Joo or similar to ask for other Made in Malaysia brands ba. Sure have de. Maybe MIC ones are also as good now.
  11. From the picture it looks like the cabinet is built to perfection to totally wrap around the fridge (sounds like shrink wrap). Then they use some sort of bracket to fix the fridge wall to the door. Come to see, it's very easily done. Just select a fridge whose front door(s) is flat (most are slightly curved). Then ask your carpenter to wrap the fridge with his carpentery (chicken feet for any carpenter). Hinge for the wooden doors use simple flat small ones. At the back of the fridge ask carpenter to open some holes for the fridge to breathe. Viola!!!
  12. So many, take your pick Price I dunno nia... Rigel http://www.rigel.com.sg/products2.aspx?Pro...68-8e8da4cf8e45 Toto http://www.bathroom.com.sg/page3.html
  13. You are posting a very difficult situation for any contractor. Kitchen floor tiles - Solution #1: Don't change the tiles. Cheapest and easiest solution. - Solution #2: Overlay, but there is a certain height for the kitchen cabinet base. If u overlay, then u are essentially "shortening" the base. Hairline crack, toilet wall tiles Had to pull you back to earth. You got to live with it. If u wanna pick on it, then you already know the answer, change. Unless of coz u can find back exactly the same design tiles, and ask someone to change those tiles for u.
  14. eh, are u trying to advertise for a person, or providing a solution where everyone can read. If it's the later then it would be more useful.
  15. Rinnai bulk purchase lovelee & DSA Hi, I am also interested in purchasing Rinnai hob and hood. In fact I am ready to place my order with Poh Joo. I wonder if the price found out by lovelee can beat Poh Joo's price. lovelee Can you also check out with Poh Joo, see which one offer better price, Dealer (Rinnai) or Distributor (Poh Joo). Sometimes dealer can give worse price. So it make sense to bulk purchase from the lower priced one. Confirmed purchase List (I will update this list) 1) hihihi, ordered on 9-Jun sorry guys, can't drag for too long 2) ... pls add yourself ...
  16. as I was reading this, somehow delirious_jeff came into my mind abt mounting on some board. sorry to say, but I learned from reading all these, convinced me to give up the idea of feature wall. Saved cost and potential mounting issues like these. But don't be despair, see from magazines got those really nice feature wall... must be wallpaper, and must be super ex, but well, they are indeed nice.
  17. Eh, that estimation is based on past experience. Regarding recommendation, I wouldn't do so, unless someone is desperately hunting for one. Basically I'm quite high standard, almost perfectionist, so far 2 contractors that did my house didn't impress me very much. Also, contractor needs alot of supervision. Must draw, explain, sample picture, supervise otherwise they will sometimes do wrong.
  18. if the table is really that holy, then u can only spray insecticide on something absorbant... e.g tissue paper.. then with some protection, stick it under the table.
  19. that must be the civil servant's (minister icluded) salary AGAIN!! It's a musical chair isn't it?
  20. For my fridge hunting, I look for volume (how much I can store, in terms of litres) and energy consumption. You will therefore eed to read up the specs sheet.
  21. general impression is that Hoe Kee is more stingy, will only give u discount if u buy many expensive items (and if u ASK). If u buy like 2 items, very difficult. That day I bought 2 taps costing $260, the boss quickly write the reciept like rushing to avoid giving me discount. I managed to squeeze him for 2 brass connector FOC with RRP $6/each coz the sales say need this thing to merge hot+cold. end up contractor installed, no use for that. Grrrr..
  22. that one has the big bowl on the right, I looking for the big bowl on the left. Sorry for being such a picker
  23. well, that is another method. Coz it's hitting on my fridge base. Was actually looking for an elegant method of limiting the door's swing. If not then will do like what u proposed.
  24. 1) Not sure. Condo usually will be more ex abit. 2) It's better to get 1 contractor to do everything and coordinate. 3) quite small project <1mth - Overlay (normal <1week, slow 1.5weeks, super slow 2weeks) - Hack cabinets, wood stuff (max 3hrs) - Hack tiles, cement stuff (max 2days, normal 1/2day) 4) Planning is flexible. a. Do laminate floor & Do toilet b. Paint Toilet & laminate floor can do concurrently, if that contractor has enough manpower. Coz these 2 items are done by different groups of specialised pple.
  25. As in your picture. U don't move your compass anymore. Now u re-orientate yourself. Now u stand facing the same direction as the green arrow. Your backside will be South. Your Left will be West. Your Right will be East.
