Hi Merryman some are using coolserve http://www.coolserve.com.sg/htmdocs/produc...ils.asp?id=2239. When i compare their pricing to gaincity, they are cheaper. Comment on service is good. U may want to contact them for a quotation to compare.
-
Ya we asked for thicker insulator & extended warranty but i hope they will bring the better materials 2moro.
-
Hi Merryman i remember reading somewhere & compare to the prices i got, think Gaincity more exp. Give me sometime, i find out for u. I remember that person mention service is juz as good, if not, better. The funny thing abt Gaincity was when we asked the price b4 GSS, they had this trade-off promotion. They will deduct $150 if you had old aircon to be removed. When we asked, it was May and we thot since its not very far from GSS, we shall wait a bit longer to enjoy more disct when GSS started. However, we were wrong and hence end up paying slightly more.

Hi Melancholic aiya, blur me. Your laminate on your wardrobe looks familiar, its from jenning? I chose the same but its white & black combination. I love everything in 2 tones haha.

Got excuse to buy bigger WM in future. I remember seeing someone (cant remember who) bot some racks from Howards Storage and place it behind the VM to act as shelvings for washing powder etc. If i have space like yours, i may do that cos quite neat and sleek looking.

Hi Cannotist reading your t-blog brings back a lot of memories cos i had stayed there (@ Blk 7 - the 1-room flat) for 22 years b4 shifting to Woodlands. Nice quiet place, tho' not very accessible lah. Ur block is nearer to St. Theresa's Convent right cos i saw that in your pic. Edit: When I was staying there, there were not many buses going there but not sure how's the situation like. But i remembered taking bus 195 at the bus-stop near Radin Mas CC to Tiong Bahru MRT Station.

Oh dear, did they rectify for u? Thanks, will make sure they do a good job. Their prices not very competitive and still do a lousy job

Hope i will not disappoint u cos my house oso simple design, nothing to wow abt. Actually i am a little disappoint that my common bathroom will look nicer than my master one. No choice cos the tiles used in master bathrm more exp, so lesser feature tiles used. But when i think of using wall decals to decorate, i can even smile in my sleep haha!

Hi Babyblue, yes. In fact i am a little regret for not engaging a contractor this time since from beginning we know wat we want already. The price difference can be in thousands or even more. Hopefully my end-result will be worth the $$$ i paid for. Good luck to you!

Hi Forkie, thanks for the tips, i nuts about aircons, trunking & materials. Bo bian, hb could not take leave. Pray hard but Gaincity should be ok lah.
-
Hi Forkie i agree wif ur wife on the bigger w/m base, dun think u will regret it esp after reading lawry's t-blog on his reno saga. Ya, agree wif the rest, the floor tiles look shiny & good.
-
No worries, take ur time. My excuse to ask for more pics

Hi Babyblue ID is the firm where an interior designer will come up with a designs, most prob they will draw 3D drawings for u to visualise and liaise with their contractors when reno start. Contractors are reno co. which require most owners to come up wif their own designs. For my own reno, I am using Ideal House which is one of the few most recommended Reno firm and of course, there are many. For contractors, my hb had approached Basic Image (Mr Yeak) b4 but schedule cant meet. 2 other contractors which i have seen many good recommendations are Henry from Impress 21 & Patrick from Ho Bee.

Hi necrosis i have few past recent issues of Home & Decor, Square Rooms etc. I dun mind to pass to you but i can only meet @ either TPY or Potong Pasir MRT. If not, can send u thru post (but postage to be borned by u). Let me know. -
Hi Babyblue congrats. Maybe u can consider getting contractors instead of ID. There are a few good ones engaged by the forumers here. Agree to some extent, ID will impose some of their ideas to the owners. Tho' we can reject their ideas but sometimes we are being influenced by their so-called interior designer's instinct .
-
Ya, take pics please. After reading renotalk for quite some times, i develop a love for DIY, esp wall decals hee. Maybe will see what your wife did and steal some ideas from her .

Hi Forkie, u hokkien? Ur abo very funny leh . We shall patiently for your updates on the carpentry then.

I will be there as my hb could not take leave. Promise will take pics 2moro. We are more anxious than anyone else hee .

Hi Takomi so far so good. Has been quite smooth sailing i wld say. However, i am a bit disappointed with my MBR toilet but is not her fault but my own. Think my common toilet would look better. -

Hi Takomi congrats. Hope to see your 3D soon -
Carpentry will be exciting .

The paint colours for the MBR is nice.

Actually i dun really understand the difference in pricing either. For eg, i choose my floor tiles for $3.40 psf and they came with tags tat state they are non-stain, super glossy etc. However, my 1st choice cost $3.80 psf but dun carry such tag. If $2.60 quality the same as those $3 ones, then can really save a lot.
