IS IT??? Fuijoh at that price is cheap liao ah? MM Then maybe I remembered the brand wrongly. Mmm My hob? I got it from that Jojo lor. The hob came alright. Just that the entire experience isn't good. My hob is a little troublesome though. After turning for the gas flow I must hold for some time before the thing stays in place. Otherwise it turns off. mm I don't know if it's that all new hobs are like that but my previous hob wasn't. bleh.

Wah I like your laminates.. esp the woody ones.. red and white kitchen will look cool!
-
No wonder will need 7k... If it's just going to be the two of you.. you can consider not doing the top cabinets? can save some money.
-
Yay I always went to No.1 lighting before... not bad. Luckily you bypass her shop!! heh.. My glass hob is from Deliza, apparently same manufacturer for Ariston... Looks nice but I still don't really like it. When I was at Eestilo I preferred the Fujioh one I saw there... but I think it is expensive $430 I think... mm My Deliza one is $528

whahah just like me when I first saw this clock that I want for my room... I really wanted it but I walked away telling my friend that I want to look around first... and now I keep telling myself I'm not free to go and buy.

Kitchen cabinet 7k?? your kitchen cabinet very very long? top and bottom?
-
Relaminate? if the condition inside is good then dun get rid of it lor. Just re-laminate. Then the concrete sink support you can construct something over it to cover up the good solid support... Save money to do other nice nice things. haha

Personally I just think that VERY few things are not made in China... Though the brand could be Italian/German or whatever... but in the end the factory that actually manufactures the thing is still China... or worse... So it doesn't really make a diff to me. BUT if you want to play safe...

haha I have that habit too ilmare... I think it's common. But I will resist the urge to buy though I'll keep thinking about it.

haha ya. She's always here reading but she doesn't really post. In fact she was the one who introduced me to renotalk. wow cork placemats with eucalyptus leaves... that sounds so unique! They must have been pretty. haha I know what you mean... "old one don't go out, new one cannot come in."
-
Yup I emailed them yesterday... hope for a reply from them soon. Once they have I'll rush down to buy. haha I'm too lazy to hem up my own fabric. So I'll only do that if I don't have a choice. YA placemats from places like that are SOOO expensive.. so my sister was quite happy when she saw these tempered glass ones on sale.

Hi asianms... If you take a look at my sister's posts... http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?s=...st&p=366495 http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?s=...st&p=366916 She got them from UK. They were not expensive but she had to carry them back all the way from London. I love decor items like these too! I think they were less than 10 pounds for a pack of 4. I wanted to get the placemats from a shop at Raffles City but those were the thin plastic sort and cost $8 each! *faint* I even saw $52 placemats there. These were the ones my sister really wanted to get but were too heavy. Moreover they were plain and our table was already black. http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.901-1777.aspx

WAH Clockwork and Adele... I really think you guys are very kind... I thought that in the event, my siblings move out and we have spare rooms, my parents can rent them out to students as they are building the 4th University near Simei... and I thought that charging $600-$700 for fully furnished rooms is reasonable.. but in your cases, you charge so little and they are still using your things... mm I think it's really time to either increase rent or... change tenants...

WAH so fast the MBR toilet walls done? mm 20k still seems ok... but it's a little over budget for guys? (seeing from your signature)

I AGREE!! the white boxes I wanted initially also out of stock... the other bedside table I wanted also out of stock... I really wonder what is up with them these days. I called Alexandra Branch but they don't have it too. I thought to myself... if by March they still don't have, I'll just go and buy fabric at Geylang/Jln Sultan myself. But I'd have to get it hemmed which is troublesome.

mm some random pictures (cos I'm bored) AND my problem. Sigh.. The decal in my sister's room. The ALMOST completed living. Do you see the ugly corner.. with the cardboard? Sigh... My dad's little corner behind the divider. Do you see the cardboard? Tempered Glass Placemats and coasters... Close up of the placemat... The Sound System my bf got us for CNY. He came, he loved the place and he felt that the "entertainment" area was too empty. So he gave us this dvd player thingy and sound system.... Oh yes that's the light we got. FS master wanted us to put something round in that corner facing the main door so we got the standing light, which matches the balcony light. Sigh as for that corner... Initially we wanted to get a screen to shield off the area for my bunny. It can help to block off some of the light in her area also. But we realised that a screen will take up too much space and the beam will block the full height screen... Then we decided to put the panel curtains from Ikea so that it wouldn't make the living look small. But when I went over yesterday, the translucent panel curtains we wanted were out of stock!! urgh.............. so we have to live with the cardboard there for a while.

wah the house was in horrible condition... but it has such a big backyard and all...
-
hihi I hope to live with my parents for as long as I can... and after that... maybe be like you, have own space and invite friends over for gatherings and stuff. I moved from East Coast Area to here so I can imagine how your location is. hehe

Hi. thanks for sharing the story. I guess that's the way it is. But I'm glad that you chose the "easier" way out to pay and share it out instead of arguing over many years as I've seen some siblings do after their parents are gone. Like yourself, I'm single living with my parents and siblings in our newly bought and newly renovated flat now. I do hope that in time to come, everything can be settled amicably... If you like, my contractor is quite cheap and reliable... though his workmanship is not fantastic. You can PM me if you want his contact. I was just wondering... would you be staying in the house when the renovation is done?
