YA! my friend bought a house with $50k COV with move-in condition and still had to spend $2k to put up window grilles on all the window.. *sian* So you going to SBH today?
-
So we should get the Cow Cow CNY wall decals to match
-
*agree agree* When my Bro was 2 and we were living in a masionette, he fell down the stairs! And my parents even placed a plant on the landing so he hit his head against the pot of the plant. Luckily he has an iron head so he grew up ok. Kids are so hard to plan for.............................

AHHHHHHHH your dining set is PERFECT! and all the accessories you put on it makes it even nicer!!
-
*agreed* too many cabinets can really make a place cramped... I like the colour you've chosen for the cabinets...
-
Peninsula really selling cheaper? Mm I went to MS yesterday but didn't see the $10 off!! otherwise I would have gotten the pink one! I shall check out Peninsula. hehe thanks ya!

haha yes yes it is very tall. Luckily none of us have a phobia of heights! Yup. I was worried that a full altar with its usual colours would not match the furniture so luckily my parents felt the same way somewhat and they came up with this idea. We were lucky to find the LED spotlight really. Yup all the doors in the house (including main door) are white and newly painted by the contractor. There are some brushmarks but it's generally good. hehe we decided to save some money by not having hood and top cabinets since my mom won't need them anyway.... haha the one at DK lighting lor. It's a tall cylinder with the brown string around and three frosted balls inside. Match the balcony one

We bought the living room light at $140. Apparently my contractor told me that his other customer bought it for $300. mmm it was quite shocking to find out the the price can differ so much. Yup after much contemplation we don't have window grilles. Cos we're all adults living here and no grandkids for my parents yet so we got rid of the grilles on this side of the house. However on the other side where the bedrooms are, we kept the grilles. YES!! I also exclaimed how cute it was when the carpenter walked in with it. hehe Thanks Thanks!

what?! They let you wait for the whole day wor... That's horrible! I totally agree with your decision. Keep dragging like that is wrong!

Ya Ikea is like that. They don't have the full range of colours available at all times.... ************************************** More pictures... The Black MIrror TV console finally came yesterday... Now I notice that the wall behind the TV is quite empty. Need some sprucing up. This is the light in our living room (I've shown before) but for 4th time, I've heard of people buying the exact light at twice or thrice the amount we bought it at... mm One of the happiest things that happened today was that I managed to get a standing lamp that is round and matches the light in the balcony. We need it to be put next to the TV console as the FSM says that we need something rounded in that area. The relax area next to the sofa. All of us really appreciate this place as it is very windy all times of the day and is perfect for reading newspapers and doing stuff. We got the whole set from Ikea (pretty cheap) and our contractor put it together for us FOC. hehehe Lastly... this... The mini altar my dad designed. I'm really glad it turned out very well and matches everything else in the house without sticking out like a sore thumb. We have an LED spotlight shining on it 24/7.

Wah your wardrobe turned out very nice! I also wanted stainless steel top but was outvoted. oh no... if next tue in time for your moving in or not? when you move in? .
-
mmm do you intend to have kids soon? hehe actually hor the kitchen is a dangerous place itself. So should put a child-barrier at the kitchen opening... so for the first few years your child may not enter the kitchen at all. mm my two cents la. But you are right. if you intend to have kids then must plan. Though grilles can always come later if you don't have the cash now...
-
mmm judging from the height... do you need the grilles? Half of my windows don't have grilles cos they face the main road and there is no ledge outside for people to climb in from. So we took them away. what about that?
-
Wah 12 days of excitement!!! What a rush! it'll be tiring for you! Rest well whenever you can ok? I'm excited for pictures!
-
Yup. that was one of my major concerns also. But not having the top cabinets... is a good way of getting my mom to throw away stuff she doesn't need. Granite ones very nice le. haha but heavy... think normal plastic oens will do. hahah from ikea for $2.50 only!!! not sure if they have yellow though
-
The glass half wall at the kitchen helps to make everything look so spacious! mmm black cabinets hard to maintain.. white hard to maintain then what is a good colour??? haha Well at least black looks super sleek!
-
WAH your common toilet bi fold very nice and the window grilles also nice! I was thinking of changing but now I see your window bill I also want to faint... *better not*....
-
Wah that last art clock caused so much headache? I'm so curious too!!
-
haha I know.. it's so hard to visualise sometimes right? My contractor tiled the kitchen then let me choose laminates.. then when the cabinets were up then I confirmed the table top colour. so it was quite safe. Maybe you can ask to do the same?
-
hehe ya it's only worth it if you don't need the space. If you have plenty of things then no point cos all your things will clutter up and still wun look nice lor. Anyway having extra storage space is always GOOD! The little doggie ah? haha probably got "hauled" away too!
-
WAH your foyer lights very nice! And I love your window grilles! May I ask what the seating along the living (last picture) is for?
-
When we were choosing laminates, my dad also insisted that red is just a "fashionable" colour so we scrapped the idea. But the red colour with no handle does look so sleek.... Have you thought of trying white?
-
Thanks!! Never mind next time you will have the chance. but not having top cabinets means that we really had to be heartless when we packed. THROW THROW THROW! Otherwise we wouldn't be able to fit everything in. haha Mom thinks that having the whole wall in stainless steel is overkill (too shiny) for her. So we refrained from that. Dad wanted to protect the wall areas near the counter... so in the end we figured this out.
-
hehe no hood cos we don't cook anyway. At very most, we boil water every day and cook porridge or pasta a couple of times a month. Initially I was worried when there weren't wall tiles. But it turned out really well. YESSS the toilet floor was VERY original, even the wall tiles were original!! That's why we got rid of them.
