My mom also didn't want the racks and holders cos she like to put her stuff any old how. No one knows where all the stuff are except her. So my cabinets were a lot easier to plan and with Uncle Soon I wasn't worried. He drew out the plan on the wall next to the kitchen... got his worker to copy it on paper and sent it to the carpenter after I took a look at it.

Called Uncle Soon this morning... and he finally managed to get the water guy to call us back. Faxed our floor plan to the water guy and he promised to come by tomorrow with all the documents for me to sign. I sure hope so... cos After Friday I wun be home much for the next two weeks... mm my bi fold doors were put up WAY before the painting was done. Both the doors for MBR and common toilet. I really don't think it makes a difference. Just that there might be some paint marks on the frame of the door which should be quite easy to clean off.

HAIZ... no matter whatever religion or race... we should learn to be considerate ba. If it's a adhoc kind of ritual then not too bad.. but monthly,weekly,daily burnings should be done downstairs? MmMm But my old place (long time ago) used to have those red burning things in the void deck.. I don't see them in my new place now.. do you guys have those?

No lor... he occasionally would still complain that I don't arrange it nicely and then try to do it himself, taking HOURSSSS and then decided to go out and buy new plants back for ME to re-arrange. 苦命... heyhey! I have a full height cupboard at the end of my kitchen next to the sink. It's used for storing bamboo poles, extra hangers, pails, detergent and cleaning agents. My mop is there too but my broom is in the storeroom. I don't know why the broom is separated though. I would like to take a photo for you but my cammie is charging at the moment.. tonight ok? Ah? I dunno the name of the plants leh. I only know we had hydrilla and the reddish hard plant. The rest of it I dun know the name. My bf used to put something in the water which is good for the plants. It's like water soluble fertilizer you can get at fish shops... BUT after he managed to get himself a landscape-maintainer (That's ME) for the aquarium he stopped buying that thing. Everytime the plant begins to yellow/die, I would snip off the good parts and replant them. They will grow all over again... It usually works for quite a few snips...

Yup yup yup We had different fishes that were fast, wiry and swam in schools. haha I remember how the puffer tried to hide in the "bushes" to wait for them to go past... and when they do, they turn and scared the puffer! haha Can can do like what I did. You either get bigger, fiercer fishes or you get very fast fishies!

mm the top of my base was not tiled too.. I think it'll be kinda of odd to have it tiled right? Even if it's remove... I don't think we'll just leave it empty... mm So it's ok la. Oh. the gas cylinder ah.. if it's low on gas it wouldn't be so powerful. People who cook will be able to sense. My dad used to do it all the time.

mm I realise with my suggestion it would slightly block your window a little... it's possible to protect your cabinet if your sunshine comes in from the right side... ask uncle to help put a panel or something. But if it comes from the left... then it'll be hard. BUT then.. it'll shine the rest of the cabinets anyway... mm I only have one set of drawers too.. and no upper cabinets.. so far it's usable for us...

HUH... ok.... mm but shallow drawers will really be useless to you... thankfully there IS a set of drawers in your kitchen... It's really up to you ba... if you're ok with the format? Look at it again and plan where will you put which stuff and whether it's enough... I did think of something... you know the area at the L-shape near your window? I know that's where your rubbish chute is.. but you can have a full height cabinet there... bottom for the rubbish chute.. then top portions you can put stuff... non-edible ones of course...

Yup.. as owners, there really is no choice that we have our datelines too ba. I had mine too and had to rush Uncle.. the only comforting thing is that we dun have young kids ard and we can have the recitifications done after... There's still a bit of time. I suggest anything to do with groutlines must be rectified before HO... cos that was the one that really made my house dirty during rectifications. Any rectifications in the toilet and kitchen wasn't that bad. You better rest well ah... so many days already...

I agree. How much it will cost is how much you manage your wants and needs. If you think you NEED a false ceiling then you have to pay for that... if you think the tiles for the toilet cannot be saved then to hack and retile can cost anywhere from 3k-5k... If you only intend to do the basics, change all the tiles and do kitchen cabinets + electrical and plumbing... I'd say 20-25k should be enough. (cheap price la... IDs will rarely give you this price.)

huh... my dad uses the CIF thing from NTUC it works leh... he cleaned off markings left behind by my bro's rubbish... poor girl! But he uses a normal rag.. not the green rough thing...

Agreed. I think when people go to the house and praise the design, it's doubly pride-worthy to say that you designed yourself.. At least I really feel that way. haha I think Wendy must be very proud using the beautiful kitchen she designed.
