  2. oooo. kopi's wife's birthday?? Happy Birthday!!!
  3. ooo that's big.. and the layout's really nice!
  4. See See... GOT HOR. lol Thank you but I do feel better today. But the people from Creation Air haven't come back with a proper answer yet. I'll post up pictures tomorrow. haha They sure are quick in clearing up. Cleared my dustbin too... mmm think she should have the same problem as me. It worsens towards the end of the year so ask her to take care too? You have to do more housework!!
  5. huh poor thing!! One or two I can still handle but tons of roaches will make me panic... You better take care of your health... your "ride" is just beginning.. will need to keep healthy.
  6. Congratulations! Hope to see more pics!!
  7. mm painting the edges still ok... it's the ceiling that'll be a killer..
  8. So nice of you to suggest!! hehe Now I know why I come here... really makes my day. Oh no!! take good care and don't walk about... rest your body well... Thank you for all the concern people. I will update when the people have done something. The nicest thing was that I smsed Uncle Soon telling him about these stupid aircon people.. he called back immediately to say that he will do for me and told me not to worry. ... of course... dunno when that will happen la.
  9. Hi Rasp... your house looks great from the outside! More updates please...
  10. I have very sensitive skin. Even on normal days, once it turns colder when it rains, my skin will harden, itch and crack. Chronic eczema. I thought of going elsewhere.. but someone still has to clean up.. and my parents are old and siblings are away. So I have to help then.
  11. WA>> I really don't know. I'll probably ask for compensation. They did what was necessary but they didn't do what was necessary to make everything back to normal. Really sad because my skin is suffering. I broke out in rashes at work today for no reason... huge patches of rashes all over and could hardly open the fingers on my right hand because of the cracks. If they had done a proper job, I only had to suffer one day and let my skin heal.. but now... to get everything repaired.. I have to suffer again. I really don't look forward to it.
  12. mmm yes that bigger mirror will be more suitable. Your IKEA ads are very IKEA-like!! Congrats on the touchups! All done!
  13. .. mm feel slightly better now. At least the guy I talked to at the Expo bothered to call me immediately the moment I smsed him. That's one consolation.
  14. Rondy.. Think you were mistakened. I had the air con installation done over the weekend. They are brand new. Not noisy. seems ok. It's the rest of the house. hello... thank you. the installation is complete... it's just that... now my completed house is no longer complete. I'm really crying when I see the condition of the place. To think I just paid $3400 to destroy my house like this. Sigh.
  15. ... I promised to give them 3 days to answer me. So for now.. I'll just let you guys have an idea... They didn't deliver what they promised. On MANY things. And because they didn't finish the installation in one day (which is actually the company's fault not the rain.) .. my hands and feet are all cracked and bleeding. Can't use them much. *sob* Am extremely tired. Don't think I will ask them to come back and do the work.. will probably ask for money. My house is still in a mess now.
  16. .... URGH. I was quite happy with the air con yesterday. BUT today... I'm INFURIATED!!! :curse: :curse: Let's see how service recovery goes.
  17. Mickey M... what's the brand of the casement that you had at your parent's place?
  18. young chap ah? about late thirties? quite good looking one? hahahhaa
  19. I love the simple shelf in your WIW! But I agree with the mirror thing.. maybe you can get one that stretches from one wall to the other? Your study looks great too!!
  20. Uncle Soon also doesn't quite like Hafary, though he doesn't mind ordering from them. he says something about their delivery and payment schedule. mm They prefer Sin Lek cos they are old friends.
  21. Kopi.. I agree with Mickey M. Even now when it's brand new, it's noisier than your normal aircon. But it's quite cool for a 3m X 3m bedroom. But if your room is bigger, say the MBR, it might take a long time to cool as the casement is not so efficient when it comes to circulating cool air. There are many disadvantages to a casement... If you have sliding windows, then it's easy to install. But then it prevents you from using one panel completely. The other thing is that a casement uses almost twice as much energy as an inverter unit for a given period of time. But for my place, we don't have a choice because of the electrical load and that we want to cool 5 rooms. The reasons why the inverter went to my bro... like Mickey, his room is the furthest from the MBR. After installing, the blind for his room cannot be pulled down completely. It's ok for him to have that gap but.. for me, I guess not. My mom is afraid that if given the normal aircon he will forget to go to my mom's room to turn off the air con main after using. If he's using the casement, he just has to turn off the casement in his own room. (He doesn't even turn off the water heater after using every day....)
  22. So when they left... The unit in my room. The ones in my mom's and sis's rooms look the same. My bro's casement aircon from Sanyo. The wonderful hole above my sister's door. SIGHHH More updates tomorrow.
  23. One piece of advice before I continue... Do up your air conditioning system during RENOVATION. As some of you know, we signed up with Creation Air (CA) at the Expo last week. We paid $4400 for a LG inverter system 4 and a Sanyo casement aircon. Thanks to our 25 yr old flat, we had the limit of 8.5amp and one outdoor unit only. So that limited our choices and made it easier for us to make a decision. We fixed the installation date on 31 Oct (Sat). On Thursday (29 Oct), I received a call from one of the people at CA and the man told me about a promotion that LG was having. He said I could upgrade to the LG ArtCool series for a SPECIAL price. Since my parents LOVE white colour and picked this model because it wasn't fancy, I turned down the salesguy's offer. Then he reminded me about my appointment on Saturday. No hard-selling. I got home that day, googled and realised that the Artcool series seemed to be giving consumers quite a bit of trouble. So I was really glad I turned the guy down. On Friday (30 Oct), I received another call from CA. The guy (different one) told me that my 18k BTU unit for the living area is out of stock. I have two options. The first is to have a FREE upgrade to the ArtCool 18k BTU unit... The second is to have a 12k BTU one installed first and they would replace with the 18k one when they have stock. I took the second one. The guy seemed disappointed that I picked the second one and kept asking... It's free you know? But I guess it's not hard selling either. Anyway he hung up after reminding me about the appointment on Sat. 2 hours later, a lady named KIWI called.. and you know what.... she sure sounds like JOJO (from the JOJO saga). Kiwi called to remind me of my appointment the next day. I informed her that I wasn't not going to pay in full the next day as the 18k unit is out of stock. I told her I would pay her 75%. She DID NOT listen carefully to what I said and kept interrupting me... Then she told me that she would call me the next day to tell me if I could do that. Preparation... We spent a good part of Friday afternoon/evening preparing for the installation on Saturday. On Saturday (31 Oct), Kiwi called at 9am. She said... "Miss, If you don't want to pay today... I'm afraid we cannot install the aircon." URGH. I told her straight away that she had misunderstood and said that I DID NOT say I refused to pay. I told her i would make a partial payment as I didn't receive all the goods. I was going to continue by telling her the amount when she interrupted with "HOW MUCH?" URGHHHHHH I hate people who interrupt. Anyway that was settled and I got rid of her. Good riddance. The people arrived on time (10am) and within 5 minutes... My dad (the fussy one) and the guy discussed on the trunking sequence and location of the units... and THIS resulted. They hacked off the wood above two bedrooms' doors and took out the metal slates to put the trunking through. They continue all the way into the night. In the evening, it began to rain. The worker asked us for an umbrella. Thinking that he was going to the van to grab something, I lent him one... Then I saw what he was going to do... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was going to climb out onto the air con ledge in the rainy night! My mom and I were SHOCKED. It's so slippery and dangerous!!!! Finally we managed to convince him not to do so... So he has to come back on Sunday to connect the Outdoor unit with the indoor ones...
