  2. you may want to read this thread which is about bird droppings too: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=40717
  3. WP's Eric Tan & Glenda Han should be in East Coast GRC. Glenda Han came visiting last week, quietly and friendly with another guy, unlike Raymond Lim who has an entourage with him. The last time he came in 2006, there were 5 guys in white stomping down the stairs before him & a few minutes later he appeared with another few guys! Total waste of resources!
  4. http://singaporemaid.blogspot.com/ you can get quite a fair bit of resources on managing a maid from the above site, inclusive of daily schedule for maid, in english & bahasa indonesia.

  6. When dealing with such tenants, policy doesn't help. Issue the final notice, change the lock & chain up the grille when deadline is met. Don't be soft-hearted when they try to negotiate, just refund the deposit (if any, after deducting all necessary) & get them out. Don't worry that you are dealing with these rogues alone, just stand firm on the TA terms. Btw, what happen to the agent who brought in these tenants for you?
  7. I bought a single mattress from beds.sg last year & it was a pleasant experience with good customer service. The delivery guys were few hours late but I was kept posted through phone calls & they were apologetic when they arrived. Besides, they helped me dispose of the old mattress. I am considering buying from them for the coming CNY actually. For the cheaper prices beds.sg is charging, I feel I am getting reasonably good service, no complaints. Just a customer feedback, in no way related to beds.sg.
  8. Yup, the new Bedok Interchange should be up & ready in 2015. Bedok Point should be opened next month, a long overdue shopping mall for Bedok, can't wait! DBSS at Bedok Reservoir is at Bedok Reservoir Crescent, i.e. next to Bedok West & Daimai Pri Schs, see below link: http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10330p.nsf/w/...H1?OpenDocument
  9. If I remember correctly, it is the plot of land next to Bedok West & Damai Pri Schs, very near the proposed MRT station too. Not bad a location since Sheng Siong, Fairprice & other shops are diagonally across the road.
  10. Isn't it a lot of work for HDB to check if these PRs own a property in their home countries? Further, some of them could easily cover up information understanding how rampant bribery is in some countries.
  11. http://hogarmas.com/ you may want to check out this warehouse for household items, a lot cheaper than at retail outlets. do call before visiting.
  12. There's definitely differences in rental rates between the two, imagine even a small utility room can command a rental of ~$350 to $450 per month, if a 3-room flat is upgraded with the additional room, rental will certainly be higher if the whole unit is to be rented out.
  13. If you are referring to those you see on rental leaflets in letterbox & stuck on walls, rental websites, they meant - "2+1" = 2 bedrooms + 1 hall (i.e. 3 room flat) "2+1+1" = 2 bedrooms + 1 hall + 1 utility room (i.e. upgraded 3 room flat with additional room) If you are referring to rental terms, refer to the reply above.
  14. www.hocksiong.com.sg they sell 2nd hand stuff from hotels & restaurants in Singapore, check out their page on facebook.
  15. http://www.huachong-bathroom.com/contact.html address & map found on the above webpage.
  16. I don't think you need to get the LPG cylinder at the same time. You have to pay for the hose & regulator when you purchase the first cylinder, there is also a deposit for this first unit. I paid $43 for the regulator, $10 for the hose, $20 for the deposit & $26 for the first 12.7kg cylinder. To remove the gas pipe, SP charges $50.
  17. I find the economical rice at both coffeeshops of Blk 123 very oily but the fried ikan bilis with chilli & peanuts of the rice stall you mentioned very yummy! I personally like the Bak Kut Teh at the 2nd coffeeshop of Blk 56 New Upp Changi Rd (Bedok South, opp the new blocks 18X). The salted veg is a really yummy side dish. This Bak Kut Teh is the M'sian herbal sort, not the Teochew peppery type. Another Zi Tzar stall featured on TV prog (I have yet to try though) is at Blk 18 Bedok South. Anyone tried before? Do give comments. If you want a better dinner place for some celebrations, I suggest Chin Lee Teochew Restaurant at Blk 115 Bedok North Rd (opp Blk 85 market). I love the kway teow with chye poh & orh nee!!! Drooling already!
  18. Try the coffeeshop at Blk 123, Bedok North St 2, the one at the end nearer to Fengshan Community Club. There are 2 coffeeshops at this block, make sure you go to the right one. The currypuff & rojak stall is good too, it operates from about 4pm onwards.
  19. It's a 'Mixed Commercial and Residential Development Integrated with Bus Interchange' project, see link for more info: http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10296p.nsf/Pr...B8?OpenDocument I remember reading somewhere it is going to be like Toa Payoh Hub & AMK Hub sort of devt.
  20. My mum's sink drainage is badly choked & I called up a plumber who came to fix the problem yesterday. He cleared some debris from the pipe but water is not flowing. In fact, I think it has gotten worse than before he came, water was flowing very slowly before but it seems stagnant in the sink now. He knew he couldn't solve the problem, so charged me for the trap he changed & left me a messy & dirty kitchen to clean. We tried various methods ourselves but water is still not flowing. Also, due to the way the pipe is run around the kitchen before reaching the outlet, we think we need some professional help. Anyone could recommend a plumber or a professional person trained in clearing choked pipes?
  21. Regarding bi-fold doors, I have installed the normal ones (quoted: $180) & recently in my opinion, a better & more sturdy one (quoted: $260), prices incl dismantling of old folding door & installation of new door. The normal door's top roller was made of plastic & the door can be removed from the frame if enough strength is applied to force it out. The more expensive one, however, has a top roller made of metal and was not easy for it slip out of the track. I did not want the lower track initially as my father is not so mobile and it could pose a danger when he enters the toilet. Also, since he needed the door as a support when entering the toilet, I need one that is strong enough when weight is applied. So, I went for the more sturdy $260 one & have a lower track but it was moved to the edge to provide enough space for the feet. I don't have a pic but I do not see 3 hinges on the outside of the door (mine is a 4-panel like worldangel's), it is just one smooth piece of material down in the middle. I am happy with the workmanship & quality of the door so far.
  22. Thanks DKCH for Alex Ong's contact. I am very pleased with his service. Despite the fact that I only change a toilet bi-fold door for my mum's place, he came down to show me samples & gave me a quote. Very good advice & excellent service. I highly recommend him. By the way, he has another renovation business with his brother, think I would get quotation from him in future should I need to do any renovation.
  23. A few forummers here engaged Alex Ong's service their windows & grilles and had very good experience. I engaged him to change a toilet bi-fold door & he actually came up to show me samples & gave me a quote, despite the fact that I only change a door. Very excellent service, I highly recommend him. Contact Alex Ong (M: 9100 8767).
