  5. Hmm ours ard 3ft plus wide x 7 ft ht with cabinets, drawer and side glass and white laminate = 680. Maybe cos we never built all the way to the ceiling cos that height does not fall under the "auspicious" range.

  9. I have those pulled-out racks also! But don't have the tray leh...looks very nice How much does it cost? Tis one over here:
  10. The miscommunication regarding the laminate thing nearly caused me a heart attack. Today was a busy day for me as I need to rush to Aljunied area for the PSLE marking and I was already on my way there when hubby called to tell me that they made a mistake by switching the laminates for two rooms. Naturally as I was unable to access internet (I was already in the cab) and cannot really picture how bad (or good) each of this laminate looks in their current room, I panicked and nearly wanted the workers to remove everything and relaminate the rooms according to the choices which we have made before. I think the thing that got me agitated was because they said that this miscommunication was caused by us writing the wrong code of laminate in the email. I clearly remember telling them the correct name and code both in email and via the phone (when they called me up again to confirm before ordering). Plus if we want them to remove and relaminate everything, then need to pay extra 300. I was thinking: why should I pay 300 for a fault which is not mine? Luckily hubby assured me that the laminates look better in their current position and so rehacking it out is not necessary. And to my contractor's credit, he did admit later on that it was his mistake and not ours (and I checked my email again just now and true enough, it was correct). But since the mistake is something we can live with and it makes the rooms look better anyway, can consider this a "good" mistake and we won't pursue it anymore Also asked Patrick to quote us for the altar and a suspended shelf in the bedroom which will double up as my vanity table...altar is $680 and the shelf will cost $150. Quite reasonable pricing so we will be adding that to our carpentry items
  11. better to discuss the handover date...otherwise they will really take their time to do...
  12. Wow indeed a lot of things to plan... Luckily for me and my hubby we already got our ROM out of the way, but still need to plan for banquet and photoshoot. But all these we have to push it to next year cos we know this year we are going to be super busy with the planning of the new house, esp since we are not hiring an ID. The parquet flooring looks great!
  13. haha same same! I used to tell my friends: dun ever give me vouchers for my birthday! Now if they want to give me vouchers for Courts or Harvey Norman, i will be more than happy to accept!
  14. Yea lor...I see my MIL one very heavy to bring ard...tink I will stop using it after a while haha... Currently eyeing this model: Samsung Silencio - supposed to be quiet when it is doing its work...tried it out in Best Denki at IMM last weekend and it's very easy to use not to mention very silent...
  15. Haha my MIL also spent thousands on her vacuum cleaner! Maybe it is the same brand as yours lol
  16. Hehe yea hor, got replacement fabric haha... I also anything with fur! Used to have a cat and a few hamsters but they all passed away le T_T Now just play with my sister in law's cat...super cute ginger cat...but very fierce also and likes to bite...
  17. Yea my hubby and I are both cat lovers But won't be getting one so soon, maybe after our banquet and honeymoon next year. Getting fabric sofa from IKEA...must get scratching post for the cat and train him/her to use that instead of scratching furniture...
  18. Jaden is really cute! the cheeks so chubby and pinch-able hehe
  19. Yup quite smooth sailing so far...but of course there is a price to pay...he is much more expensive... We did consider ah soon at first but I called him and he never got back to me...so decided to forgo him and went to other contractors instead...
  20. I got my dining table light at $114...the kitchen light at $40...
  21. Hehe... want to get some recommendations here: for vacuum cleaner, which brand is good?
  22. Hmm I using the normal laminate leh, never use any upgraded version...piano white and it is fully glossy, 0.8mm...we have checked the kitchen cabinets but don't have any wavy effect... Haha my sofa also white...I also planning to have a cat in the future...don't know how successful I would be in maintaining the "whiteness"
  23. How come worried abt end products? But texturized laminate harder to clean...that's why I chose those glossy one...easier to wipe off
