Same here. We gonna hack off the study rm at 1st flr to have a longer & open concept kitchen cum dining. And it will also brighten up the area by doing tat. R u going to overhaul the whole hse? For me, I will. As the condition is real bad. And i also went to a few ID and they quoted me close to $90K which is too expensive. Anyway, hope ur ID will revise the quote and offer u a beta amt.

Hello to all the T-blogger here I just got my keys for my Mansionette @ the north side area. My reno had actually started a few days ago, but just the hacking of cabinets only, nothing much. I will not post the current hse pic as the plc is really in super bad condition, just worry some of u might vomit after viewing...Hahaha I will try to post the progress of the reno soon after the tiles and everything is hack and clear. Meanwhile i will just post my floorplan for u all to view... I believe tat some of the Mansionette owner here will have the same layout as me... Hehe Hopefully everyone can bear with me to see the same old thing.

Hi Seashell Yah... the hse need to overhaul. Everything got to be changed. So hv to plan our budget very carefully and that why we choose Ah Soon as his quote is within our budget. The main worry abt choosing Ah Soon is time & work schedule after seeing so many pple complaints abt him. Hopefully i can start my Reno Blog here soon...as my reno will start on the 10 Nov.

Hi Seashell, Hehe..thks for helping him out with our quotation. Anyway just met him tdy and to our surprise, he was super ON TIME unlike other days. And i think he must hv change alot after so many complaints. Cos nowadays he will made initiative to call us rather then we call him for meet up... Cross Finger lah...hopefully after we sign the quotation he will remain easily contactable.

Hi Seashell, Hope tat ur hse reno is doing well rite nw. R u the one staying at Bedok Reservior 7XX which i get to knw fr Uncle Soon? Erm... Last Wed nite i was abt to sign the quotation and engage him as our contractor, but due to some amendment so everything was held back. He told us tat u r the one tat help him to type out our quotation. Is it true? hehe... Do u mind telling me more abt him? As i read though abt him in the forum with lots of negative remarks, which I'm abit worry now.

Actually i'm doing a really major overhaul as the flooring at 1st & 2nd flr some were cracked. Including staircase, Windows, Doors....

Hi Rondy & Sixer, Saw that u all hv mention about the BKK Expo fair. Look very interesting. But too bad, i dun think i can made it to the fair as i hv book the 1 for 1 Jetstar too to BKK during early Nov. So just wonder whether do u all hv any other recommendation for getting nice & cheap deco stuff other then the Fair or Chai dut chai. And wonder do u all knw abt this shop at Great World City call "I wanna go home"? The staff told us tat most of their furniture & deco stuff came from BKK. So do u all knw any plc in BKK tat i can get those nice furniture?

Hi Preciousjam, Can i check with u, who's ur contractor? Ah soon or Mr Yeak? If it's Mr Yeak, will he provide u his own layout design or u just tell him wht u wan and he will do according to it? Cos i just called him and ask to email my floorplan to him and he will quote us a price. But how will he quote us if he doesnt knw wht we wanna do? How did it works out for u when u approach him?

Hi, I hv the same prb too. And i found tat there is season where ants will start to appear around my house. And tats happen a few yrs ago, i start to track the ant nest. To my horror, those ants were hidden in my wooden knife holder and i quickly brought the whole thing to wash and all the ants started to crawl out and the eggs started to flood up. Tat is really disgusting... and i just threw the whole things away. I tot i had destroy the nest already, but i still see ants around! And i start to track again... and found out tat there is another nest! The nest was built on a Ikea wooden plate which i used it as a display (on the bottom of the plate usually there a depth) and this time round i ask my HB to lift it up to see cos i was too afraid to see it again. OMG...again...full of ants & eggs! Then i realise the two places tat the ants like to hide were the things i bought from Ikea...one is the Wooden Knife Holder & the Wooden Plate. After tat, i started to search all my wooden stuff to make sure that no ant nest around. Maybe you can check around ur wooden stuff just to make sure.

Wow…congrats on ur New House… Your hse layout looks great… easy to play with it in reno…and it come with a very long foyer too… I used to stay in Yishun too. It’s a great town to stay in… but now thinking of moving back to Yishun, will start viewing a few houses this wkends. Hopefully will find a nice one!

Wow...$44K for all this! Really worth it... At first me & hb was thinking how much will overhauling cost... after seeing urs, we roughly know how much it will be for reno an EM. We will start viewing a few EM this coming Sat @ Yishun... hopefully it won't take long to find a one tat we like Excited to see more updates of ur new home...
