Hi OOG, Tks for your swift reply. Yup i wont waste money by changing doors as they are brand new. Will ask my ID to get me a cheaper price to paint. Is your workmanship of painting doors good? Light colours are ok but my theme is dark especially with the tv console, shoe cabinets and feature wall for dining are black.... I'll get a pvc removable cushion for the the bay windows, its about $150 neg and I will post a pic for you and see if you needed any when i get it done. Will pop by choo chiang for their switches and most likely will get clipsal as what u mentioned. went to u-home last month. nothing against them.......itls a salesman instead of an id designer attended to us. i ask if he was the one designing, he said no, he will do according to what we want and pass to another pedt to design and get back to us/////??? so when discussing the details of what we want, he seems to be lost and from there i just said i need to come back agian as it's getting late. i mean i'm not looking down on him or what so ever its just that im gonna spend 30k why would i put it in a salesman hand???? 1 wk later he called and quoted me ovet the phone, it;s like 8k lesser than what chew interior quoted. end up i still sign with chew as i belive there''s a lot of hidden cost from them. a bit off subject here, we met the designer from chew and he guided us what to to and what not to do, unlike salesman they will do what you want to do, no idea at all. and that's the difference. tips.....go direct to a id designer, any in-between might screw things up.

Dear pal, You have a lovely home and it looks just great ......though you have the same concept as me not to spend too much on reno but you still manage to get it done with a budget and the place turns out "PRICELESS" Is it somewhere at Jalan Loyang Besar?? My new place gonna TOP very soon and I've engaged an ID for my reno for about 30k. I didn't know i could get all my queries from your post and i cant thank you enough for it. 1) Who did you engage to re-paint your doors and how much? As my parquet and all doors are very light in colour, I need to re-paint all doors to dark brown or black as it's a waste to change them as it's new. My ID quoted me about $180 per door. 2) Ha I have 2 bay windows as well, wished they weren't there at all. My ID suggested to have cushions as it is the cheapest compared to other materials and it costs $600 each but I found an old shop along macpherson doing it for about $150 . My question is, you need to paint it over with that what you called it 2 layers?, cant remember the nippon's name? It's not that hard right? sorry not an DIY man hopefully will be one soon. 3) Gonna change all my sockets and switches as well. Though you have posted a pricelist for legrand and clipsal can't really figure it out? You mean legrand's single gang costs $2.80 only? Understood Clipsal with a red led below the switch is about $60 for a single gang right? Saw legrand @ a DIY shop in thompson plaza and it costs easily over $10...puzzled!! dear all, i just found this website last nite and i have spent many hrs goin tru each section and thus seen many lovely homes and learnt many new ideas and things and gosh you guys' taste are just wonderful!!!!!! not forgetting lotsa nice ppl around too.... i have gone to an id for my new place and most likely will sign with him real soon as i'll be collecting keys soon. reno costs about 30k for custom-made bed, feature wall above bed, shoe cabinet, fasle ceilings, tv console to celing for living and mbr, feature wall at dining, and some here there etc etc and of cos wall paper all-round in my mbr!!!!!! but i have some areas which i think i can get much cheaper sourcing out on my own!!!!!!!! with help from u guys... 1) cushion for bay window i got $150 from an shop at macpherson. (id $600) any other place to recommend?? 2) chengai wood for planter (id $1700) i coudnt find any cheaper quote. 3) re-paint all doors to dark brown or rather dark parquet colour as mine are very light brown colour.
