  1. bottom line is, don't make his problem your problem.
  2. my advise is, just issue him a date on which u want YOUR unit back, and show up at the door of YOUR unit on that day, and call 999 if he has not budged. It's a money transaction, u do not owe him any sympathies, nor do u have to hear his sob story.
  3. My advise is if u are gonna spend x amount of money, then dun save the additional 10% of x if it is called upon so u can have a complete overhaul. As for aluminum sliding door, the bulk of the door cost is the aluminum and not the glass. So if to refurbish is to change the aluminum and keep the glass, u r doing a disservice. Water heater leakage is usually internal, and a new one cost plus minus of two hundred. Hacked walls equates exposed floorarea that need new flooring; a distinct difference in color w still demarcate the existence of walls that were once there, a little like the phantom wall syndrome.
  4. Your electrician should be able to fix the kdk fans as no balancing is required.
  5. Very hard to find an occasion where u will switch on all lights, so cost savings of expensive bulbs and what not is really negligible. In real usage, u probably turn on those u need, and switch off when u don't. So plan on switch-to-lights management rather than worry about what lighting/bulbs to use.
  6. best is to have black and white, even if it is a non enforceable contract. my sellers even have the cheek to send me a lawyer's letter threatening to sue me for trespassing when i threatened to throw them out beyond the agreed stay. I went down to the unit and called 999, within one week they were gone.
  7. I'm assuming the scc charges will increase come aug 1, and I'm still thinking of how to voice my displeasure.
  8. anyone else suffered a wet morning today? i was caught off guard with my windows opened and the rain pouring down at 3am. Pouring is an understatement, i looked out my bedroom window and it was white water gush.
  9. when i was light shopping, i had a few criteria such as light size, number of tubes per light point, tiltable light holder, ballast brand, bulb brand. the one that fits my criteria were quoted to me from $23-$35, so yes, u have just got to do some legwork.
  10. u can get the contact for the opennet guy from Mae, should be able to buy the fiber cable off him and get ur electrician to run it first with terminating points unconnected. Or just pay the 220sgd+ for the opennet guys to installed all the way through and save yourself the headache of future installations, albeit free.
  11. rattan stuffs, available at alexandra village and sunset way.shouldnt be too difficult to locate both shops.
  12. very normal. the plumber didn't flush the pipes before fitting the shower peripherals. most common are sand grains.
  13. to summarize, she wants a flat cheap (ai pee) in mature towns (ai chee), otherwise, a new cheap flat in outlying area that she can rent out immediately (to people who has the same aspirations as her, no less), while she collects rent to pay for her newer cheap flat in mature town. to be crude, this is also wanting of tua liap nee.
  14. thank you much... i saw that webby, just thought someone would have brought it in to sell by now.
  15. I need another grey A11YS if anyone knows where it's still available.
  16. is that a drop on the flooring where the barstools will be? Might be a little hard to sit, considering that u practically have to lean forward onto the island top to rest your elbows?
  17. i NEED (okok, i want) to know where i can lay my hands on the magnet.
  18. definitely below $30 from Choo Chiang.
  19. I've edited. It should work now.
  20. i did a search back then and found this gem @ $4.00. this acts as a deterrent in addition to my fixed window grilles along the corridor. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=13124
  21. can u share the lobang? is she meticulous and efficient?
  22. There was some bad press about Duro a couple years back, something regarding a simple knock and the bolt lock springs open. Good to ask what's the company's stand on that issue now if anyone is keen to buy that. I'm interested too.
  23. i got mine at $3424, doubt the price has changed much. as for noise, i think it equates to sucking power. u get a quiet vacuum, it sucks badly. hahaha. as for weight, it's quite manageable. i live in an EM, and my wife lugs it up and down when she does the vacuuming. as for it being troublesome.... depending on how u see it. i use it to do all sorts of cleaning, short of cleaning my dishes and washing my clothes. so to me, it's more than helpful than a hindrance. i bought this precisely for it's water filter feature. i like that i can just dump the water away and not deal with replacing and cleaning the dirtbag. u can pay by installments, which i am doing over 3years interest free. that way my wallet didnt hurt alot. pls pm me if u want to get it through me, as i dun visit this thread regularly. cheers!
  24. mine is a 3rd generation EM and paul aluminium fitted my roller shutter with remote control for 2k.
