Ya not in time for CNY. He already told me 2 weeks before that if I cannot firm the wardrobe design, he cannot rush for me before cny. So.... too bad. Btw I have moved in already... just that the reno is completed halfway without kitchen cabinet and the mbr wardrobe. :/ Yes I intend to keep it AS EMPTY AS POSSIBLE!!

Hi everyone! Thanks for your feedback. I think I'll go the middle way (i.e.: not pay anything at all and paying all 40%) and pay 10%. my bed and bed frame has arrived! so has all my furniture from JB's Rustica!! Was really busy this weekend but the furniture is good! Now my living room feels very cramped cos of the sudden appearance of a lot of furniture! I used to only have 1 computer table, a tv, the fridge and the hamsters in the living room. Now I have all of the above AND a huge 3-seater recliner, a coffee table, a tv console and a dining table. TOO CLUTTERED! I regret buying the coffee table.. thinking of selling it off. BRAND NEW somemore!! :/ Hope I can move my fridge in to the kitchen and the computer table in to common room ASAP. Feel so cramped now.

Hey Ossify, wow I didnt come for awhile and your bill went past $10K already! Everytime I came to you t-blog last time, the bill was always $5K + hehehe I'll be interested to know how much you spend on all your renovation works + any carpentry (when your prices are all confirmed) - things that would normally be included in a typical ID quote. It'll be great to know if DIY is cheaper than getting an ID to coordinate! Btw, what did you buy from vhive? You mentioned cushion storage? What's that? I actually thinking of buying my MBR wardrobe from vHIVE instead of getting my ID to custom make. CHEAPER + vHIVE looks quite good quality leh! I can bring it with me too when I move!

I also wanted it vertical initially but my ID advised against it cos the cleaning will be a major pain! How come our handover is so far away? Still got a lot of things to do meh? Btw how much have you paid your ID so far>

Guys guys, need some advice. I paid a tiny deposit of $200 upon confirmation with ID Then I paid 50% upon hacking work begun Now the thing is, the carpenter will only come after CNY to measure and start work on my MBR wardrobe and kitchen cabinets. I always thought that the payment terms is: 10% upon confirmation of ID 40% upon hacking 40% upon carpenter coming to measure 10% upon ALL rectifications made But now my ID is asking for the 40% when the carpenter will only come after CNY! I definitely won't pay all 40% for SURE. I would be a complete idiot if I do so. But should I pay another 10% at this juncture? Here's the outstanding work: - painting of kitchen, main door, touch up on door frames, touch up in MBR wall, touch up in toilet ceilings and pipe - a whole bunch of rectifications (which, hopefully, the remaining 10% will help ensure) - the kitchen cabinets - the mbr wardrobe - plumber needs to come and fix up a few more toilet fixtures and change water pipes - kitchen sliding door + some hacking of a little wall that juts out (it was built this way initially cos of the initial plan to have casement door) + half glass panel in kitchen My biggest worry is, what if they put me on lowest priority and take their own sweet time after CNY? and why not since I have already paid quite a fair bit of money! *sigh*

I found this supplier from china. The more we order the cheaper the shipping. (As a gauge for 2 pieces, the shipping is USD 73 total) 1 chair is USD 200. Exclusive of shipping. The more we order, the cheaper the cost per item too. But the bad thing is, I never order from China before and I dunno how reliable this is.... See this: It's so nice! And Singapore selling $760!

Hello!! you're so lucky to be debtless! I am so deep in debt till I cannot breathe!
-
That's only fitting. Suits your theme to a T. Golden Leaf ah... why them? price good? Thanks for helping me measure your plank!
-
Hee thanks but I just now wondering how thick is the width of the plank between each cabinet..... my ID cannot answer that...

You're the one for bold designs man! The curtain maker just asked me to take bold prints for the curtains lor. Got the type that is plain or with very subtle designs on it and there are those that have very bold patterns. He say the bold one very nice and asked me if I dare or not! LOL Btw, have you done your curtains yet? I havent decided on who to do my curtains!
-
LOL. I am so not a risk taker. LOL the curtain maker came to my place and asked me, "你敢吗?“ LOL cos he wanted to propose something daring to spice up the now very empty house. Hehehe
-
Oh ya, anybody tried the cloth at spotlight and ikea before? how's the quality like?
-
I think I shall go to Spotlight tonight and check out the curtain railings. I met up with a guy named Alan from Suntec1688 yesterday and without measuring, he told me for double layer, full length, all my 3 bedrooms + living room = $1,300 Is it considered cheap already? Fabrics made in Turkey, includes the curtain rails
-
You are really Ikea's BEST CUSTOMER OF THE YEAR already!!! OK I shall give sun sun and beglas a call. Need this top hung sliding glass door for kitchen. :/

I also need to get drying rails man! I have no idea where to look!

I like your black mosaic tiles on the toilet. Very nice! Should be easy to clean too! I regret taking rough floor tiles. I should have taken smooth tiles - so much easier to clean on every count!

Hi gantan! sorry to hear about all the problems. I am intending to hold back 25% of payment... so worried that my contractor might not finish up everything nicely. Especially since my house' paint job is so bad! And the painter came back quite a few times already. Dont think you can ask for compensation leh since there is no written agreement... it'll be a waste of your time, effort and money to try and win this case... but perhaps you can approach the boss and check with him whether he is willing to let you splash the dirt here compared to him compensating you... I am not expert in this... nor have i experienced this before - I sure as **** hope I never need to know info like this as well... Hope everything turns out well for you
