  1. HOT as in temperature? yes! Hitachi has the HOTTEST Plasma. just bring a power meter down to measure yourself lor, if not....a thermometer ? lol! you kidding me? 428 cost more than $3K hoh, how to compare? even 427 cost more than $2K. LG PC5R and Panasonic PV70 42" all below $2K one.
  2. even the most expensive property in SG may not have ethernet cable built in. reason being, the speed keep going up, the cables are already obseleted the moment you installed them wireless is the way to go, provided it doesn't make us too prone to cancer hehe...
  3. if it's 427 the price is still not a good price, coz 427 cost around $2700, HT is just one of the freegifts, so are you paying $1900 for the TV console? If it's 428, make sure you have all the pioneer promotional freebies included and maituliao.
  4. I believe a lot of you, especially those staying in recent built HDB do have a long wall with an entrance door at the center for the bomb shelter. Usually you would do some carpentry to cover it right? May I know how do you control the opening and closing of the carpentry "door" that covers the bomb shelter door? Magnet? clips? I have a problem. We are using magnet with spring, but a lot of time the bomb shelter door would hit the magnet. The magnet + spring "push out" thingy is located at the right but the bomb shelter door is open from right to left, that's why it's being "hit". Would like to take your "solution" as reference as my magnet + spring set up is totally spoilt now... Currently I have to "pull" my carpentry door with my bare fingers to access the bomb shelter.
  5. hi Chunky Monkey, it's nothing inside, in fact we could actually make it some storage area but it was rushed in a very short time, that's why it's "wasted"... the purpose is just to support the main door so that it's not closed completely but facing at certain angle indicated by our fengshui master. Aircon unit are all running within the rooms, never touched the living room at all.
  6. i would say, grab it if it comes free..... but u know, those stores probably cost in already....you will be surprised how much cost savings we are getting from places like maximum credit/HongLeong.
  7. no news from them yet, why not you just call your ID? i will get them to repaint first, if still come back, then either the paint company gotta be responsible or they have to rebuild everything..... the thing is, the other false wall @ master bedroom was perfectly OK, with proper painting done.
  8. it's from Laura Ashley. We got the cream color one. I can't remember the exact amount, but together with the matching wall light they cost $500+, that's already minus 10%+ discounts during taka sales for members. It's very overpriced here.....if you can import from UK direct, it will be slightly cheaper. But our designer said it's very CHEAP *faint*....
  9. how complicated is your chandelier? Ours is quite simple, so I dun think it's tough to clean.... crystals are all hooked together by metal rings, unless you pull them in purpose, they shouldn't drop one... cwongst, maybe you can show us the picture of your chandelier?
  10. I'm thinking of buying from HSN.com the scooba cost USD200+ only.
  11. okay, according to many many people, plasma's phosphorous stuff (i dunno if I spelled correctly) requires 250hr to settle down and perform better. So I search around the internet and found this Plasma break-in DVD. http://www.eaprogramming.com/downloads/download_main.htm you can also search around to get the break in settings for your plasma. Anyway, if you run it 24/7, you just need less than 10 days to finish the break in. But hoh, it could be just placebo effect lol!
  12. dun need to PM lar, it's ******. I won't blame them, it could be just misunderstanding or some mistake from their subcontractor. anyway, Canny promised to settle this for me ASAP here is the picture. Look at the area pointed by the red arrows.... the little false wall is to support the main door so that it will close at a specific area (fengshui purpose)....
  13. Now got a big headache.....happily bought the Plasma TV, and realize it's truely BLACK and may not blend in nicely with the theme. I need to get a suitable TV console (for the 50kg+ baby) and everything shall blend in nicely.....thinking of a total white color TV console....or maybe some wooden color kind of thing. Any suggestion for shopping the right TV console for it so that the black can blend in the country/classic theme nicely? Here are some pictures for reference..... and here is the TV I bought...... dun ask me to do wall mount hoh, it will cost me a bomb to do another feature wall just to mount this giant baby.....the deskstop stand is great coz it can be turned left and right so we can still enjoy watching TV while sitting at the dining area or the semi-circle cosy area. This is the sofa set we got from scanteak: any suggestion?
  14. kamsia your PV70 is not bad too! currently on 40hr+ break in, switched back to SCV, wow, the PQ suddenly improve a lot!! funny thing is Samsung said there is no need for break in period....
  15. no , it's not main door, but the part behind the main door. rain water will never get there but moist will....maybe I take some photo and post here later.
  16. I dun think I have the time to do it. think shall just give them a call to repaint the small false wall, since they didn't apply silicon at the edges last time, shunbian bao everything lol! my worry is the inner side of the wall.....not sure it's full of fungi see what they say first. well, that's the disadvantage of staying in very windy place.
  17. I thought they are using the 3-in-1 paint, so now I know they anyhow dilute the paint just to finish the job FAST. The rest of my house has no fungi but just this specially built false wall/partition to hold my main door (yup, we changed the angle of the main door. Do you think there is a need to dismantle the wall and rebuild it? I tried mopping away the fungi but they come back the next day!! What shall I do now? Call the ID back and ask them to check again?
  18. i am not too sure, why first 2? you meant nobody else is getting this full HD plasma ?
  19. LCD was never made for TV......especially the SD programmes. anyway, i got my Samsung P9 from HongLiang, great price with cash off from the freebies
  20. not cheap leh, unless you can get them trade in the freebies. i think it's more ex than the price I paid 6 months ago.....
  21. Got my 50P9 from Samsung. Currently running the break in !! great PQ, especially for SD. 4:3 is just amazing for this plasma to display all the SCV and mediacorp channels from my hubstation hehe...
  22. i just got my plasma, and luckily Samsung has 3 years warranty on it, heck care about those extended warranty lar. all bullsh*ting one.....
  23. I thought they are selling AIG insurance that covers 100% of the equipment value for 5 years. in the event it can't be repaired, policy holder can simply claim back 100% of what they pay and buy another replacement with the same value at the point where the claim is approved. To my surprise.....one of the Harvey Norman sales said his customers spent $6K+ 4 years ago on his VGA Plasma, and claimed back only a $2K worth of Plasma TV as replacement. It simply doesn't make sense to get this kind of stupid "extended warranty"..... Look, at $6K+, that customer probably paid another $600-700(10% of purchased price) extra for the extended warranty. $2K compensation out of $6.7K is only about 30%. If I were to get Best Denki's SAFETY5, it cost 5% or FREE during their promotional period. they pay out 20% vouchers. So if similar event happen, the same customers will get back $1200. Plus another $800, he can also get back the same value of compensation from the expensive AIG insurance. So isn't SAFETY5 more worth it? Can anybody share your experience in claiming such warranty? I claimed SAFETY5 b4, when my laptop was stolen. And Best Denki really honored what they promised. I heard there are people having problems or argument when it comes to AIG's claim, may I know how true is it? Now I even want to reconsider if the so called "extended warranty" is worth it. What is the chance that a TV would spoil within 5 years? I'm looking at Plasma....
  24. Plasma is much closer to CRT. LCD is soso for HD contents, but for SD like SCV and mediacorp channels, it simply cannot make it. But most people buay hiam, they see pictures, happy liao anybody getting the Samsung P9?
