  1. And when rental price gets too exp, more PRs will consider buying a unit to stay.
  2. Talking about science lab lessons, still remember mixing Ammonia salt with xxx that produced stingy horse urine smell? I buay tahan that smell, so I always sneak out of lab to breathe fresh air haha.
  3. Wonder will the govt introduce more housing measures after seeing some launches selling like hot cakes? Eg. capital gain tax.
  4. I think these rules are just wayang before the GE to appease some angry Singaporeans about the influx of foreigners, and also cyco PRs to become citizens who will probably vote for PAP. The wayang has certainly pleased many first-time buyers based on the postings I read on forums. They are calling govt to further ban PRs from buying resale HDBs and ban owners from renting out their existing properties. If govt implement these 2 rules, a property crash will really happen! I think they fail to understand that some Singaporean retirees are relying on the rental income to feed themselves. Making PRs sell off their properties overseas - is like tiny red dot trying to cool the global property bubble hahaha "Bu Zhi Liang Li". PAP think other govts of other countries will entertain them meh?
  5. Units at NV Residences snapped up at private preview 08 September 2010 http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1079939/1/.html SINGAPORE : City Developments and its joint venture partners, Hong Leong Holdings and Hong Realty, have sold 80 per cent of the 200 units released at a private preview of NV Residences on Wednesday. Priced at an average of S$830 per square foot, the 99-year leasehold apartments at the 642-unit development range from S$557,000 for a one-bedroom unit to S$1.9 million for a penthouse. The development consists of eight blocks of 12 to 15 storey condominium units on a site area of nearly 30,500 square metres. Its recreational facilities include a geometric garden, children's playground, swimming and jacuzzi pools, tennis courts, and a gym. NV Residences, which is located at Pasir Ris Grove, is within walking distance to the Pasir Ris MRT Station and is close to shopping and entertainment amenities such as Downtown East, Tampines Mall and Century Square. The developers said it is also the first condominium in Singapore to introduce a patented storage solution which maximises the space in the apartment with the integration of smart storage compartments that are built flushed with the floor or the bay window. City Developments' group general manager, Chia Ngiang Hong, said: "We're very encouraged by the good response for NV Residences, which shows a healthy demand for a well-positioned and attractively-priced residence in the East, particularly amongst owner-occupiers." - CNA/
  6. Pests are becoming commando mutants! Can even become immune to insecticides, poisons
  7. Haiz... The new measures have caused a lot of headaches to significant no of sellers and buyers, MBT is going to lose some votes over this.
  8. In another forum, haha there're even more people stating that prices will surely fall 30% without explaining why. They are probably first-timer buyers hoping for a market crash. 30% fall is very "optimistic" prediction from them leh when Spore's GDP is estimated to be 15%.
  9. I just received a flyer for Canopy EC, it states $6XX psf.
  10. Hi, My mum's friends' hands are full, so they are not taking any more cleaning jobs.
  11. We all know certain countries have degree millers. If degrees can be forged in these countries, property deeds can be forged too. Actually don't forge also can. Just register a company overseas, transfer the overseas property to the company. Or transfer it to overseas family members. Most likely HDB will try to catch a few cases and broadcast these cases + penalities all over the media to instill fear on people so that less people will try to be funny.
  12. Did that agent ask to bring your colleague to go and view other units? I suspect that that was a 'dummy ad/unit' from the agent to lure potential buyers to view other units so that the agent can earn cobroke fees representing the buyers. Last year when I called up to ask to view a few units advertised on the ads that were opposite MRT station, I encountered : 1. the agent would agree to arrange viewing initially, then later called me back on the same day that the owner decided not to sell anymore, and asked me to view other units. 2. the agent would tell me honestly that it was a dummy ad and asked me to view other units lol.
  13. My parents and relatives have been doing this for past 20 years. But I never hear them strike 4D, Toto right after that haha.
  14. Yes I agree with hihihi. To add onto his points, try to use those covered bin for food related rubbish in the kitchen, and empty your bins everyday. Supermarket is selling ant poison products. I never use them before, so don't know how effective they are. No harm trying them for your place. Personally I don't use insecticide at home because I find it messy and dirty my place.
  15. Napure carries many latex mattress models. Which model are you talking about? I remember the salesgal got mentioned that different models had different features. $1.5K include GST? The mattress model that I'm using now may not be the same one that you are looking at. I always have to get my hubby to tuck in the bedsheet for me. It's heavy and needs 3 men to move it around. As I said earlier, I find whether hot or cool sleeping on my mattress will depend on the temperature of my room. I'm ok with my mattress. Mattress is very subjective one. You should go to the showroom to test and sleep on the different mattresses to see which one you like the most. If you are so worried about latex matress, why don't you get your usual spring mattress instead?
  16. There's a similar thread. Please check out http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=32696 Seriously whether hot or cool sleeping on any mattresses will depend on the temperature of your room. Haha only sleeping on marble floor is forever cooling.
  17. If overseas house is sold, the brother will also need to fork out > 1K for rental overseas assuming he needs to stay there for 1 more year.
  18. Go and try to negotiate a win-win situation with your seller. Maybe ask him to pay you some rental fee? It's not advisable to sue the seller, and tear down the bridge so quickly. As your 1st appointment is not done and your resale application has not been approved yet, the seller can just drop out of the deal with you! Won't it jeopardise all your efforts? Sueing will also cost you another 10+K more and few months more. And technically yes, resubmitting the 1st appointment will land you into new rules. You better call up HDB to double check on this.
  19. It may happen. No choice, you have to negotiate and agree on the 1st appt date with your seller. The later your seller drags the appointments, the later he will get his sales proceedings.
  20. I managed to find AB Mould Killer at cold storage.
  21. Many units in the Sale of Balance Flats Exercises of HDB are either repossessed units (divorcees, people who can't pay housing loan) or old units left vacant for years. Since these units are priced much cheaper than resale markets, there're always people fighting for them!
