  1. If nobody wants the alarm clock, can give it to me, I don't mind.
  2. True enought that wind, water, light, fire, aircon at "our finger tips". Why still pay money to fsms to tell us to shift stove lah, refrig, sink lah, coverup tiolet lah??? Only answer is "stomach" too full. When one's stomach is empty, "anything" & "everything" also "CAN". When stomach is full, many "innovative" ideas and pattern liao liao.
  3. So many doorways, so when urge come need to visit tiolet, high possibility to go into wrong doorways and bump into partition, esp at night suddenly wake up.
  4. Sell then stay where?, PAP gov very caring one , can apply first, then wait long long, till you get keys for BTO then sell yr house. Get keys for BTO till the completion of selling house (so call 2nd appointment) must be within 6 months. This queries repeated many times liao till I can remember.
  5. A sudden appearance of "secret weapon" is not a good thing, especially just returned from "oversea". Should have more public exposure, as much as possible . He should contect in GRC, together with heavy heavy weight figures in a more WP-pro constituency, eg Aljunied or East Coast. Goh CT from NOL, pulled Lim BH from NOL, now Lim is retired, Parliament will be filled with ppls mostly from NTUC & MINDEF, why like that? Quite worrying should real emergency breakout, what will be their finall decision and action? Bye bye singapore? Should have more ppl background like Teo SL, from private sector.
  6. PAP thought he is everyone's "ah gong". Ah gong can lecture ppls, can treathen not to give you rice to eat, can do anything he wishes to do.
  7. Giving clock = "送终" pronounciation in Cantonese. "送终" = send to last point of life. Such act can't be considered as a "custom" but related to "意头“. "Superstitious" ppls care much about "意头". "意头" has nothing to do with feng shui, but related to one's mentality. I'm a Teochew, wife's godmother( who brought wife up since wife a todler) is a typical cantonese. I don't mind ppls give me clocks. Next, not a good practice to hang objects on wall where ppls can pass through/under. Same applies to no(best not to) hanging objects on top of bedhead. Simply ones don't know when it will "accidentally" drop down. Same for ceiling lighting/fans, wall mounted objects etc, as less as possible if possible to ensure safefty. These are hidden and potential "dangers". Feng shui deals with dangers. During house audit, fsms should have stressed these instead of what directions, water, fire, salt lah, etc, tio bo?
  8. It's considered low enough thoguht everywhere in the world increase their domestic int rates. Yr package should be come with a fix component + 12mnthsibor = 1.9%. See http://smp-consulting.com.sg/smpc/?option=...ticle&id=62. This fix component, usually increase in subsequent yrs, as in the package....
  9. Unless opposition having >51% votes in parliament, otherwise ALL legislation changes will be passed one-way in favor of the ruling party. What to do? "since voters have authorised" the ruler to do so, as what the ruling party has always said. What we hope to see, at this juncture of time at this present global settings, a few seats (say 1% of elected MPs= 8 seats). The present Eleventh Parliament has 94 MPs consisting of 84 elected MPs, one NCMP and nine NMPs. NCMP & NCMP have no voting rights in parliament. What the 1% can do?, besides acting as "bridge" between constituencies and gov. Experience tells gov turns a deaf ear to what the elected opposition MPs have said/feedbacks. Opposition has very limited given resources. Look at the existing 2 opposition constituencies' town councils, they have done pretty well under present's political environment. Look at some PAP-led TCs, lost $ in some investments. From the actual history of "planting a tree" episode, one can tell how difficult oppositions are to survive, not mentioning "to do something" with ruling party's policies and network of political influence. My salute to oppositions. Of course, only to the ones deserve due respect & salution, not the brother-cum-sister team.
  10. Can place anywhere as you please, but a no no as present to someone's birthday.
  11. Problem of this estate is the bottle neck at North upper changi road, Loyang ave. If these 2 rds never get "widen", no hope liao. Morning jam, evening jam. I've been working in Loyang way 1, just shifted to Changi Business park - every 3 minutes "seow" one time - planes fly over at super low height.
  12. From my observations, PAP will face a tough fight with oppositions, especially WP. The mindsets of voters getting "more daring", can see from questions asked in NUS. "To supervise the gov" in the parliament is the key at this point of time. Need some real voices in parliament, no all yes men. Give $ and take back $, who don't know. What's for?, wasted the resources of printing, news release, press conference, calculation, preparing, talking.....all are "decorative works" - who kena sway? Those who pay taxes lah!
  13. If form not signed, no one can hold you responsible for anything.
  14. Received MOF letter liao, so many "fanciful items" - no feeling le, why? The elites force will make these $$$ make a U-turn and back to where it comes from, never mind, along the way, the $$$ will pick up some "interest".......so
  15. Interesting, see how the police, mom, employer handle this. Embassy may come in as well.
  16. Oops! ya, only either 80% or 60% for individual entity, no more 70%.
  17. What cancerous only ah? Whole body mati in no time.!
  18. 1. LTV = 80% with no current mortgage loan, 70% with one current mortgage loan, 60% with more than 1 current mortage loans. 2. The 15% can use cpf. Cpf usually takes 14 working days to be effective. As long as the money can reach seller's laywer a working day before completion is ok. 3. For cash, yoongf is correct.
  19. 1. Experience tells me it is human nature to seek help and appear to be "accomodating" during the trouble days. Once the trouble has been settled and these ppls (even own parents/siblings) will start to claim "credits". There is no black/white document signed and no figures or period of stay stated. To avoid the unfairness/dispute in future and expenses to yr financee, best not to include yr name as 3rd co-owner. Yr financee may not be fully aware of the "dark side" of human nature and the complications of human relationship . Hdb is of course encourage 3rd co-owner, so the "owed" $ can come into HDB's pocket quick and safe. 2. Cal the proceeds from sale of present house and roughtly workout the costs of downgrading and monthly instalment amount. Best, at least got money(from proceeds) to last for at least 36 instalments for the downgraded house. May consider yr brother to include his name as one of the co-owner of this house. 3. Get a new resale for yourself & financee asap. Of course you may still contribute some money to your parents. It is a "logical", "sound", and "harsefree" approach. Long story cut short (Similar to forgotten's). - My FIL was traditional professional addicted gambler when I know then gf, now my wife in 1983 who stayed in a hdb rental "one room half hall" with 4 members. -After much discussions in between over years, we finally decided to get a 5rm & SIL & MIL stayed with us. Dumped FIL to one side to survive on his own. Applied new 5 rm, approved, got keys in Sept 1992, we held customary and church solemnisation wedding the same day in march 1993. - Few yrs after married, FIL also moved to bedok due to resettlement, at a rental flat(one room type, blk 106). Again after few yr, gov encouraged tenants to buy, so he bought the unit under his & mil's name (actually we asked mil to go ahead, we promised to financially support the flat in case FIL can't make it, so far so good) - SIL has moved out after married in 2003. - MIL has been staying with us all this while, though her IC address at blk106. My son already 16, girl 14. - FIL has toned down a lot on gambling, 2 wks ago told us abt his recent 1st visit to MBS with $600, won 9k halfway and continued gambling till pocket empty then go home. To be "fair" to yr financee and "future family", never put yr name with parents' property, especially staying with siblings, complications surface in no time.
  20. There was this Ms Lim, very "cute" from ECTC with MP LeeYS one night at my doorstep, poured out all my disatisfactions (have had sent emails b4 this but none done)she busy taking down. After the conservation with Lee YS, I counterchecked with her of what have been taken down: 1. All the "8" & "3" labelling/printing of floor storey on wall all "up side down". Big on top and small beneath. Up till now all these printings remained uncorrected. I have sent 3 emails to ECTC on this. 2. Lift announcement system, always pronounce "15" story when it reaches 23 floor, corrected the next day, the day after next back to square one, why like that? I have total sent 3 emails to ECTC on this. 3. There was once a "security system" with "guards" stationed at ground floor which collects $12 per household each month, upon checking with with ECTC, this system is "optional". So I don't pay. After "feedback", all guards gone liao now.
  21. Hungry makes an angry man. Once hungry anything also can. Once stomach full, lot of "creative ideas" coming out. Typical voters are busy looking for food to fill the stomach. Elites are so free to think of all the crap ideas to cover their own backside and to fix ppls. MP's monthly allowance is abt SGD13,000, no joke le, still can be CEO/Chairman/President/consultant of this & that companies. If opposition kena elected MP then must be full time MP liao.
  22. Politic is defined as employing ways & means within "legal means", to hinder others' performance/contribution to maximise own interests. Not racist, Chinese & Indian are pretty good at this, in general. Unfounded story from 3rd brother: As long as there is an indian party chief, that party can't grow strong, why? You know I know.
  23. It is getting more "army kakis" in parliament, those "older" MPs give way to these, why? Always getting more "kakis" from NTUC, why? "Kakis Lan" easier to "talk", feel even less pressure while having meals together! Pathing way for someone to have better power in control!
  24. No doubt PAP has put Singapore on near top of the world. However, too many policies set are one-way, irreguardless as to education (Tony Tan has said before : 2 Uni are enough for singapore), cpf, public/pte housing, commercial & industrial pty, gst %, immigration, foreign labourer, coe quota, "merit system", casino, NEA, PUB, URA...etc etc. - Only "elites" are good at making these decisions? Even the "wiseman" LKY has even almost implementing to let university parents' children to have "privilege" to go into top primary schools, ideas scrapped after some strong objections. This was the original version of "elite concept"- only elites produce elites and elites enjoy at the expenses of commoners. Why Edu Minister last minute pull brake not to reduce Chinese's weightage in PSLE? What will happen after GE, let's see. - Why insist to let a 27yr old to go into parliament through GRC system? Bring PAP any good? Think! Why at this time!.The next round will be a 17 yr old liao.
  25. Ris Low received no money from tax payers. If TPL kena MP, then tax payers have to pay for her MP allowance. If she enters parliament based on one-to-one ANC, I'll be willing to pay.
