  1. I suspect the white patches are dried up residue of the chemical compounds in our water - namely Calcium, maybe Fluoride even. You may like to do a test by using a brand new mop or rag, and clean using distilled water. Of course this may not be the long term solution but just a test for proof. Ultimately, it may be necessary to wipe off all excess water on tile after use.
  2. I've somewhat noticed that using SS/Aluminium sheets may create an uneven warping effect as compared with glass backsplash. Something to ponder...
  3. Brandt is made in France as is its premium sister brand De Dietrich. It's targeted more as the standard economical appliance. Glass top is made by Eurokera. Heard that their glass top is not as good compared to Schott Ceran. Bosch induction hobs are made in Spain. They use Schott Ceran glass tops. Ariston hobs should be made in Italy. Using Schott Ceran as well. For more continental brands of induction hobs, one may choose to check out the Harvey Norman at Millenia, and this one shop at top level in Centerpoint.
  4. Brazil, Brazil Oi Oi! Alas... nothing to watch....
  5. No leh. Called his mobile le and its still local ring tone. Several brothers here called him as well but he never pick up and reply smses. So sad... I think if he cannot deliver its ok, but should tell us lah.
  6. Yeah i tried to call them to install it at my place as well since they have indicated in their website that my place was scheduled for installation between March - May. When i call, they told me that period basically means that they will only contact you within that period. I subsequently retorted "doesnt that mean installation may only take place sometime in June-July??" which the CS girl replied yes. I asked to speak with their Manager and their superior don't even have the cheek to talk to me personally. **** lousy....
  7. Hello, I feel saddened to learn that you have to put your dog up for adoption. Personally, i feel that even if you or your parents have moved into a smaller unit, giving up your 9 year old dog should not be considered as an option even if it meant keeping him illegally. For a 9yo relationship, i think its just too much to give up on. Depression may set in for your dog when he realise that you or your parents have given up on him. Moreover, if he is that well-trained and obedient, i should think the neighbours would have no problem warming up to him. As a word of advice, i would not recommend sending your dog to SPCA. SPCA generally finds it easier to re-home dogs that are HDB approved or are younger/healthy. For dogs that are deem "un-adoptable", they might just put them to sleep due to limited capacity and resources. With this in mind, if you still have to take the heart-wrenching choice of putting your dog up for adoption, i really hope he'll be able to find a good owner.
  8. The fiber optic rollout is planned for many forms of media transmission, not just for broadband, but media content like similar to mio and much more.
  9. Eh you so heng... How come i cannot contact him leh. He kenna mobilised issit Anyway, still hoping Lockslocks can reply me.
  10. True. Kohler actually sub-con their designs to china manufacturers and they dont even stamp them on the kitchen sinks that you can boast of. In fact you can safely buy SS type kitchen sinks made in china. you may just want to take note of the thickness - typically 0.8mm & above is considered quite good IMHO. Recommend you buy from AOS-bathroom.com, look for Sanny the boss.
  11. I sms-ed him also no reply liao... wonder what is happening... Anyone else experiencing the same?
  12. As i understand, HDB cannot use induction becoz of the min 30A requirement. But you may look for domino type induction which is <20A i think. Can check with your electrician.
  13. Hello! I've been cracking my head on this one. See, i've been trying to get the best of both worlds - using a nice digital switch for dimming and trying to use an energy efficient CFL. I'm using Clipsal Ulti dimmer which can be controlled via a RF remote. This obviously is a digital type of dimmer consisting of up/down buttons. I believe then that the dimming will come in steps. Now, i am uncertain if there are any CFLs out there which i can use with this switch, hopefully without a ballast. Any recommendations?
  14. I think it depends on what you wanna do with the drills. Average work on both brands are pretty ok. Makita is pretty good for more heavy duty usage. Check out the specs on the drills for comparison.
  15. You can buy DL from Choo Chiang - they always have promo for them. Between $10 - $18 i think.
  16. Hello! Noticed you're also giving away a King size bedframe. Haha! Yes! Sanny will be able to plan for you coz of the stuff he has in stock. And he draws pretty good 3D drawings for the items to be fitted in your bathroom as well so you can kinda visualize how it is like. What's good is that he places a price on all the items he draws so he is very open about it - no hidden cost and you can go and compare coz he seriously feels nobody can match his prices (if you're comparing apple to apple lah). They mainly do project works so he brings his stuff by the container as well. He'll have some leftovers which are very value for money! I almost wanted to buy his villeroy and boch WC & basin set! Its was very nice loh! Currently he's trying to promote his basin and counter set that can come with a cabinet mirror. If you want hassle free they're pretty good. He will constantly tell you about the "piano finish" hahaha! You can tell him Ben and Adri recommended you and that's why you wanted to give him a try. And becoz of that, tell him you expect more discount ontop of the cheap prices hes giving you. He's a very ok guy so he doesn't mind your straight-forwardness haha! But yes, do give him a try.
  17. Hello! If i may recommend AOS (http://www.aos-bathroom.com/) for your toilet and bathroom needs. They do not have a wide variety of stuff you can choose from (unlike Nam Wah, or Sim Siang Choon) but i would suggest you try there first before you look elsewhere. Look for the Boss - Sanny. Very knowledgeable guy, patient and nice guy. He will give you the best deals and will try to match any pricing you find outside. Don't bother talking to the other salesgirls there - just tell them you looking for Sanny. I am not affiliated with them, but just a happy customer. I would've bought more stuff from them but it didn't quite fit my theme.
  18. Saw one from Teka. Its like light walnut colour/finish. Actually i think if your contractor is good, he can do something to make it look built-in.
  19. Not sure which one you're talking about but i know Clipsal sells a range of switches with LED indicating lights on them. I think they're the NEO series...maybe something else too.
  20. Thanks! You made me feel so much better about myself But good info for everyone else
  21. Yours is definitely cheaper than what my electrician quoted., Are you able to PM your electrician contact please?
  22. Ok, am deciding to get the Definitive Tech SSA50 now comparing the price and quality. Have to get an additional Amp though, but should still be well under $3K.
  23. We bought the KDK Fans: Z60WS - $370 A11YS - $170 Bought from Tai Yong Royal Fanco selling the above for about $8-12 more.
  24. Seriously i think our generation going into alotta extremities. My opinion on this is that there can be many things which are unsafe but people don't publicise too much about it or the convenience just out-weighs the risks. For example - Microwave. These can be so dangerous too. Or how about a fridge? But if you think you'll rather be very safe, then i suppose you should stay away from the IH. For me, i'm still going for it since i like how things are cooked fast and yet stay sleek.
