  1. Hi~ I have another question - what if it's the other way round, i.e. using an existing ceiling fan point for lighting instead, i supposed it shouldn't be a problem ba...? And, there are 2 lines for the ceiling fan - one for light and one for regulator, if i want to replace the fan with normal light, what do we do to the line for regulator? Thanks~
  2. i remember eugela is using this Taiyo 2 zone induction hob. maybe you can check with him http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?sh...st&p=499077
  3. Thanks for all the warm welcome~! Thanks~ Yup *bingo* that's Chinese Garden~! Haha now very busy rite... it's really not easy to plan so many big events at the same time~! I'm at Chinese Garden side... haha i know which point block you are at liao... next to the lake one is it? i was drooling over that block ... too bad that block only has 5-room flats!
  4. a little background about our new place... at first, we planned to start hunting for flats some time in Aug last year, so that house reno and wedding prep can be spread out... However, due to some unforeseen circumstances, we were not able to do so until early Feb this year and unfortunately, flat prices and COV shot up by A LOT during this period after 2 weeks of intensive house viewing, we have come to our new home... it was love at first sight my hubby and i have very different taste... this is the first time that we finally found something we both like immediately, we know that this is the ONE~ this is the lake view that we fell in love with once we stepped into the flat....
  5. http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10324p.nsf/w/...nt#FalseCeiling hmmm are you referring to cornice? cornice and false ceiling got different height rule... for cornice is 2.1m... but i guess you are right that many false ceiling would have failed the 2.4m rule~
  6. hmmm... i guess need to measure from floor to false ceiling? cos there is a rule that says there must be minimum clearance of 2.4m between finished flooring and underside of the ceiling. i'm at blk 3xx... same same it's 25 yrs old. i also wanna install gas heater but unfortunately there is no gas pipe i m going to use those stand-alone induction hob like bro ossify you can call up City Gas to confirm... hope that 1xx side will have~ my uncle's place is 41 yrs old and they have gas pipe all the while. i dun understand why my 25 yrs old flat dun have!
  7. Yea JE mostly are 3 and 5 rooms, there are less 4-room flats around... took me quite a while to find too. and somehow JE very few pple are selilng house you'd better call City Gas to check... i just called last week and they told me JE mostly dun have gas pipes except those newer units (like the 10+ yrs old one at Toh Guan area). i know that Blk 20x to 25x, 3xx dun have City Gas... not sure about blk 1xx.... i remembered reading a rule that says the flooring cannot exceed a certain thickness (think it's 50mm like what wolflet mentioned). so whether can overlay or not depends on your existing marble thickness... you can find this rule at HDB website mine also marble floor, but decided to keep it cos no more budget to hack... hahaha
  8. can find the address and contact no. here: www.genova.com.sg
  9. we also turned the lever behind the mailbox slot but property adv still get in... they purposely use thin and smaller pieces of paper so they can push the paper through the gap of the slot. i think those fast food pamphlets are distributed by postmen de... there is a "singpost ad mail hotline" signboard at my mailbox area, i guess this is the service to engage to directly distribute ads into your mailboxes. fully agree with this... it's almost like saying you can anyhow litter in your own home cos your parents/maids/someone will sweep the floor it's really unsightly to have all those pamphlets lying on the floor. why can't pple just throw them into the rubbish bin?? it's just right next to the mailboxes~ i thought we are all educated to be civic-minded and keep our environment clean.
  10. wow so many 3-roomer lately.... welcome and congrats to your new home~

  12. okie first of all... my floor plan~! It's a 25-yr-old 4A flat at approx. 105 sqm (at least that's what HDB says ), nowadays you can never find 4A with this size liao~ It quite spacious but only thing is almost all the walls are crooked or curve (very evidently shown on the floor plan), so everything also looks YY de... Work involves for reno are: complete overhaul of kitchen and 2 toiletshacking of wall of a common room (future study room)whole house plastering, paintingreplace all windows and room doorswhole house rewiringpolishing of existing marble floor .... etc. basically, everything in the house has changed except the flooring...

  20. Yo Jurong East neighbour... Congrats on moving in~ your princess' room looks really sweet! Haha my MBR toilet has the same fat pipe and window placement... I guess it's the same for your previous place too? so irritated and still thinking how to hide them i think your shower curtain did a good job in "concealing" the pipe actually haha Btw, for your kitchen, is the walkway between washing machine and the washing basin narrow? I am considering a similar arrangement but not sure if the walkway is enough or not...
  21. sigh you are not alone le... really bleed a lot for the flat.... they say like so easy... for us when parting with the $$ is very painful lor~
