Have not officially handed over to me. I am checking on defects. I wouldn't say it is SERIOUS but for the kind of money I paid for carpentry, this kind of sub-standard work is not justifiable. Informed ID. Carpenter only did a 'paint' over that area. Other areas with holes, he sticked the same laminate just at the hole. Is this the norm???

(thought it should had been mid-oct...stupid mistake by ID) I was also thinking about filing the case to CASE. Same issue as you, no handover date on contract documents. How can we sue them??? Not sure about you but I went through and still am going through lots of emotional stress. You know that kind of feeling? Hi all, Don't wanna be 'smoked' by the ID. Would like to find out if any of you had this same issue. Poor workmanship - laying of laminate. Example, peeled off or chipped off here and there. (sorry can't upload pic as the stupid company firewall blocked the image hosting sites) What did your ID/contractor do to rectify? Apply some paint? Relaminate?

I used the help of Trading1. Think he/she is a forwarder? From supplier to warehouse in SZ to doorstep - not more than 1 week. Overall I still save about S$200. (saw the exact same item in a shop in Defu selling at S$400plus after disc). So, not too bad lah, huh?

Hey! I experienced the same!! For a period of time (2 weeks), there wasn't any work! Yup, one lesson I learned from my 1st reno -> avoid year end at all cost! That'll reduce your risks (and UNHAPPINESS) by at least half! Oh my, I want my house!

Those who installed their ovens just below the stove, are you using pipe gas or cylinder gas? How high is your gas pipe from the floor? What is the gap between your stove and the oven? I am facing an issue, when I open the oven door, it goes all the way down to the floor. The contractor tells me it is NORMAL. Please share your setup??? Thank you so much.

Dear renotalk forumers, This was not on my mind until I met up with a supplier (couple) at their place which was on the 2nd floor and they had window grilles. They shared with me how it is possible for a thief to climb into their home from certain area. I'm living in the low floors as well. But is Singapore really that unsafe??!? I do not like grilles as they make me feel 'imprisoned'. Also, I do not have kids at home. Should I or should I not install grilles? hmmm..... What are your views? How much will it cost me? Roughly?

Yah, I think I'm just gonna stick with my planned idea. I believe I've been 'smoked' too many times. Take my common toilet for example.... didn't know there are alternatives. It's just that these people will suggest the easiest way for themselves. sigh....
