bro, ur reno is progressing very fast! brand new cozy house in no time! good for u! thumps up! ya, such leakage (whether on us or on our neighbours downstairs) can b a worry at all times! but dun worry too much in ur case. it's probably happened during the wet works before tiling. once ur water-proofing done (if it's properly done), the leakage downstairs would probably hv ceased..

Hi Mormor, welcome to the 3-roomers' club and to RT! Njoy ur reno journey! Will be following ur progress & updates so keep them coming! Good leh, got additional utility rm behind (the kitchen?) but u nvr show pic of this part of the kitchen leh. If I got such an additional utility rm, i will hack away my storeroom that comes between my living rm & kitchen. In fact, i hack away the original & re-built it into the kitchen area (my original kitchen like urs very big) to create a bigger living room to house a dining area (used to have dining tabel in kitchen). We still need a storeroom la to keep all the bulky & 'unsightly' stuff.. haha!

my ID oso not the very responsive kind.. needed to keep calling & chasing for updates or reconciliation works before he responded.. was really quite mad at times & needed to voice my displeasure.. luckily despite some delays & hiccups, he kept to his promises & delivered.. imho, u shd gave ur ID feedback too.. regardless of the reno amount - big or small - it's still our hard-earned $. the fact that we pay more to engage an ID is for the professional advice & services where we can't oversee & coordinate ourselves. can't be short-changed right? anyway, ur reno is still coming along well.. many wif u here thru the journey..

hmm.. wonder why they gave u a 3D image of wat ur living hall is not eventually turning out to be.. mayb because they can't throw in images of ur own furnishing ba! ask them if wat u see is wat u get at no xtra cost.. kekeke! so u decided to hv built-in wardrobes huh? (anything to do with ur air-con trunking? hope they not in ur way..) looks like the start of more VOs (variation orders) to come.. kekeke!

Hi bro, hv been following ur progress though no time lately to respond. Looks like shopping spree in full swing huh! Can feel all ur excitement. Best of all, applaud to ur efforts in penning dwn ur shopping experiences! Sorry to say, but ur air-con trunking can indeed be done better. Perhaps that’s one of the risks of engaging own air-con contractor directly. But didn’t ur ID at least give u some pre-advice? Typically, an air-con vendor/installer shd go down at least twice: 1st to do a site survey & discuss with the owner the optimal capacity for the hse (i learned that, for example, even a simple System-3 can have many combi of cooler units of different BTUs, hence the price variations), the best way to run the pipes & the best location of the units taking into consideration the layout, carpentry, aesthetics, etc.; then f/b installation on another day according to the reno progress. In my case, I was fortunate the vendor came thrice: install the pipes on the 2nd, then install the units on the 3rd after the painting & carpentry were completed. Originally, I was thinking of engaging my own directly too but decided to go with my ID’s recommendation. Though not the cheapest in town it's comparable to the bigger names (including GC) & importantly it's almost a care-free process for me.. heng arh! Sorry didn’t share this with u sooner but at least urs was done quite smoothly, compared to some horrible experiences by others. Hope ur ID could provide some good after-solutions to u yah! Cheers!

By the way, hijack ur blog a bit.. attention all new fellow 3-roomers who have yet to embark on ur reno journey: there's an advertorial in Sqrm May 13 edition which features a re-configured 3-rm unit.. very nice.. if i had ventured upon something similar a yr ago.. my hse will look very diff now..

Post-reno withdrawal syndrome? less & less things to post until nothing to post.. so each post u unconsciously post again.. haha!

you ask for it one har.. here it goes... 1. The colorful display of novelty collections.. machiam those playboxz gift shops.. cool! err.. jus need to clean the glass of all the marks though... 2. The tracklights.. so spot-on.. machiam studio.. hot(as in sexy)! jus that they seem to cast a fair bit of shawdow... 3. The hob-stove-dining table combo.. 赞! when invite us over for 重庆火锅? jus b careful 别烫到 when eating & boiling soup at the same time... 4. The wallpaper.. so raw & unfinished.. so real.. & u wont know if someone added some writing on it... 5. Ya, those wires.. u said it urself le... ha ha! jus trying to be humorous on a TGIF! anyway, like wat ppl always say: 金屋银屋不如自己的狗窝.. we r all proud owners of our own hse.. n wat such nice hse u hv done up! there's no better plc for a gd rest after a hard day at work!

Another hse? Hmm... on top of the current one (then must be private liao), or a upgrade? So gd, cant go thru it again & do it better..

Ya tell me about it! After 1 yr, i still can't really get over the not-so-perfect tiling workmanship of my bathrooms' wall tiles - the alignment & gout lines.. quite an eyesore looking at it day in day out.. but wat to do? 恨不得可以重做咯! Haiz!
