  1. Hi WhiteCookie! Congrats on ur new flat & welcome to RT! Njoy ur journey! Looking forward to following ur progression!
  2. Hi MHB, congrats on ur successful proposal & new flat!! GONG XI GONG XI! 接下来有够你们忙的了! Njoy the journey! Looking forward to following the building up of ur 爱巢
  3. u machiam in full swing of the reno liao even before got hands on unit.. haha! gd lah! once get keys, boom boom boom.. dat's it! a brand new cozy hm in 3 weeks! looks like a lot of gems ur folks r handing over to u! nice!!
  4. ya! i oso got the idea from Ikea!! n I saw my bro's plc did the same.. quite cool mah, rite? i think it's indeed more troublesm to make, but the reason my ID gave was it would take out/waste some unused space between the drawers to make such.. dunno why i agreed at that time... anyway, wardrobe sliding doors closed liao oso can't see... lol!
  5. Looks like the smooth sailing continues.. despite the minor hiccups.. keep it up! Ironically, I was asking for such drawers with large gaps (not as large as urs though) but my both my ID & carpenter said not nice/not practical & convinced me to keep to the conventional no-gap type..
  6. Hi bro, congrats on ur new flat & welcome to RT! Hope to be able to share my experience & looking forward to following ur reno journey to completion!
  7. My reno was in progression exactly one yr ago.. Paiseh no blog for u to see see look look bcos was busy & stressed over the reno.. plus i living at my bro's plc during the reno so no access to my own PC lor.. Now i k-po in other people's reno.. hope to be able to share my experience & rejoice over the excitement & accomplishment of others.. For electronics & appliances, unless u going for atas brands which hardly hv sale anyway, do wait especially for the more popular brands.. Ya look at all the products & sales my god how to resist right?? But new models with better specs keep popping up peridocically & the prices of such just go down too fast.. so be patient bro patient! u won't regret de... Haha!
  8. I'm 'impressed' by Ms China lady's confidence "u know i'm a designer, i can do it" sb funny!! wahaha!! Take all ur time u need to do research bro! I regretted not doing enof...
  9. jus a stone's throw from my office so i prefer to go dwn see see look look touch touch feel feel lo.. haha!
  10. I also thought there is only one-and-only "PD Door" company in Spore. Then when my ID passed me the catalog and address to go down choose my door materials, color, design, etc., I then realised the company for my PD door is "Swing & Slide". In fact, both are only few workshops away from one another at the Paya Lebar Industrial Estate next to SingPost Centre (where I worked). I visited both shops and realised the PD doors of both are almost identical. When I asked about their relationship, both said different owners.. To-date still dunno their relationship. Could be from same family, disbanded biz partners, or simply rivals... ha ha!
  11. Oh ya! forget u combined the toilets so definitely need to be able to lock the toilet door from inside the MBR... [remember ur first worry even before u took over was how to solve the small (500mm?) walkway with the vanity installed.. lol! ] 安 la! Their painting very fast de Only worried abt carpentary... Sometimes the dimensions of the pre-fab cabinets may not fit exactly on-site. Oso make sure the right laminates, design, etc. as agreed are delivered... Please keep a close watch... For me, the wrong laminate was used for my MBR vanity cabinet and they also cut the opening of the solid vanity top wrongly for my semi-embedded basin... gotta redo with some modifications from the original design... Sianz! Another scary thing.. when I mounted my TV, the TV feature wall dislodged.. scared me to death!! Contractor came to check then realised one side of the wall not reinforced... Luckily wall never fell & smashed my TV onto the floor... Now dun tell me i scare u again... jus sharing hor!
  12. actually I find the PD door (I'm using Swing & Slide) mechanics a bit flimspy.. adding on to the problem is many of my guests dun know how to use it so I hv to show them first before they start to experiment or swing/slide it wrongly & spoil it not sure it was a gd choice of door in the first plc but i do agree it's more space-saving (with a smaller swing span) & chio than the normal bi-fold door (of cos there r more atas & beautiful bi-fold doors; unfortunately there are only 2 makes of PD doors & both sama sama)
  13. why the 'extra security' for MBR toilet? thought it should be '进出自如' (barrier free) instead for both significant other? kekekeke ur ceiling seems so high high above.. the fan seems relatively small somehow... will sunday be a bit rush? mayb jus share my experience for ref... I moved (back) in almost immediately after the reno was completed. but there were still some rectifications and touch-ups needed. so i must make sure someone was at hm when they come down... bcos cannot trust anyone with the key to the hse liao with all our personal things moved in liao.. the prob is, getting them to commit to a time is so challenging especially we r working lor... luckily my mom at hm most of the time to watch out... but move in le oso gd. then no need to shuttle between current & new place, can slowly unpack & settle down... dun forget the cleaning too... still need a few rounds before all debris, dust, etc. (the powdery feel) can be fully removed... Cheers!
  14. Haha paiseh eyes kena stamp.. i was actually looking at 1st pic & 2nd pic (left).. still wondering how come look similar & yet different, and thought u kept the other toilet in the 2nd pic (right) in original state..
  15. Hi bro! Congrats, in advance, on ur new flat & welcome to RT! This is a very gd platform to learn & share with all the other bros & sis (i'm still k-po'g ard after my own reno.. haha! ) Gd that u do ur homework so early. Yes, it can be a slow & draining process, that very often runs contrary to our anxiety to see things move & complete & to move in as soon as possible.. but trust us, really need to do research before any hasty decision to buy and commit.. All the best in ur sourcing & reno journey! Looking forward to following ur progress!
  16. pardon me for asking.. how come u got 3 toilets de?
  17. dun like tt say bro! this is the exchange forum we learn from each other lo..
  18. Mine Supreme.. think similar kind of flooring..
  19. blueeeeie & bb-1314 > looks like we all the oak club.. i went for rustic oak (for bedrms only).. hee hee! by the way, resilient flooring is laminate flooring rite, only different range/grade & thickness, etc.? I went for basic/essential 8mm range nia.. hope can last..
  20. Alright! Jus as i guessed. Personally find it quite a hassle to hack and patch back though we're not the one doing the work.. haha! U lucky to have a gd & easy-going contractor.. that's why smooth smooth sailing mah! Keep it up!
  21. Hi bro! Welcome to RT n looking forward to following ur reno journey! Njoy! =)
  22. Paiseh suaku me.. I see no trunking even for the ceiling lights and fans... For BTO flats, r all the power point and lighting positions pre-fixed, so the electrical cables r pre-run liao? What if you dun like the positions and wanna change? Need to hack and conceal back?
  23. dun think c/w the laminates bcos the sheets seemed cut to size... oso, carpenter needs to cut laminate (from one big roll) to size according to your carpentary dimenions. and when he pastes the laminates onto the wood, he will use a tool/presser to squeeze out any air (bubble)... so unlikely got layer of plastic sheet on the laminiates that will hinder such works... think really extra efforts by your contratcor!
