Hi Samich, what is your kitchen top? Is it a new type of material?
  5. Over the last 2 days, the tiling for my living room & storeroom was done up. The wall tiles for the ground floor toilet was put up. The false ceilings for MBRM & 2 common bedrooms were taken down.... I never imagined my roof structure would be made of wood. I thought by this era, maybe steel or something? I asked hub if he knows how long the wood can last... he says "999 years... they build these things to last". Erm... ya I guess when they built the houses in that estate in 1989, the technology should be advanced enough & construction regulations rigorous enough to ensure wooden roof trusses can last. Maybe not 999 years, but perhaps another 20 years. While admiring the structures, I had half a mind to do away with the false ceilings & have an exposed-rafters look, like those ang mo houses... I can envision my ID in the background looking incredulously at me then the other one will tell me it will cost $xxx more because you need to do this & that... Haha. Maybe I shall just try & see their expressions. Think I will just start saving up to build a 3rd floor 10-20 years down the road...
  6. Hi, my blog is 1 roof 3 generations. Haven't had time to take pics & write the review, so just share with u here 1st. I was not keen on the china made ones like arino, crizto, etc, cos was wary of the flush & the longetivity of the product...when I was in my Gleneagles ward after giving birth, noticed they used Johnson Suisse so I checked out the products at Inzwerk. Quite surprised to find WCs there in range of 170-500. The good looking ones can be bought for 250-400. A typical china brand with Geberit flush is already 350 & more. Johnson Suisse offers lifetime warranty on its ceramic for both basins & wcs. The brand's been around for a long time so the flush technology can make it without using Geberit. I thought so too otherwise Gleneagles wldnt be using it in their wards toilet! I had previously gone to other shops but nobody explained the technology like Anthony. He told us how 1piece flush works, the parts, the pub ticks, etc. They do not just retail but install in condo & commercial projects as well so Anthony can share some feedback on the products they carry. They also sell kitchen & shower stuff there. Just look for Anthony on Sundays or Angela other days. After sales service is good too, I asked for delivery of my kitchen & mbrm toilet stuff 1st. They did so but got 2 items wrong. Angela speedily got it rectified. Shop is at Vertex & ample parking. If u need more info feel free to pm me. I can share with u which models I bought & the prices.
  7. Hi Valerie, the balcony faces the main gate & the peaceful street actually, but we'll jus have to chillax at the porch for now, cos need space for our mbrm. 2 kiddos gonna bunk with us for next 2 yrs..
  8. Hi! I just bought my sanitary wares from Inzwerk. Very helpful & knowledgable staff there. Can check them out, I'll be sharing abt them in my t blog once I take pics of my purchases. happy shopping!
  9. It's called sell & lease back agreement, ur agent will know how to arrange, aft all u're paying him/her. It's not uncommon nowadays given the regulations to have such practices. Anyway, I'm sure your rental is cheaper than market because that's been factored into the purchase price right... Of course, once ur seller finds a new place or finishes renovating their new place, u will have the property back earlier than expected.
  10. There's been many half-naked men in my house lately.... Gentleman levelling up my balcony with my MBRM floor... Gentleman smooth screeding my kitchen walls... Gentleman constructing a "skirting" in my backyard, so that water will not flow into my neighbour's backyard... Gentleman mixing sand & cement in preparation for tiling of living room tomorrow... yay! On a more serious note, progress seem to be slowing down... sometimes when I look at all the sand, wires, cement, it's really hard to imagine how these mess will transform into my house...
  11. The gold roses one is very feminine & gives a more romantic feel...will it be too much? If can balance off with gold coloured "man" things wld be nice. The silver flowers looks busy but if room setup is simple then shld be ok.
  12. Good choice...reno is one of the bigger cost items in life other than house & car...how can just entrust all the money to a stranger without black & white! Wonder which homeowner will allow that. At least u can move on to find the best person for u. jia you.
  13. Hi piknik, what happened to ur contractor Tommy?
  14. Hi Jenova, have pm'ed u. I'm a sista btw. haha.
  15. Oh like that ah..aiya then don't consider green liao. Haha..
  16. Haha...why did they block it out ah? I merely said bi-fold living area...oops or did it autocorrect to loving area? Hahaha... I'm having bi-fold doors at the living room opening to the deck. Ya clear wld be straightfwd hor..I'm also afraid of heat so black to keep out glares....hmmm...
  17. Which coloured glass should I choose? For... 1. Bi-fold **** area 2. French windows at MBRM 3. Sliding windows at dry kitchen I like black, but black pane on black anodized frames will look too black or not? My favourite windows uncles told me green panes are the in thing now... really?
