Our 温馨 5-Room 小狗窝
macuser77 replied to lala81's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat - HDB Resale Renovation & Interior Design
Hi lala, Sorry for the late reply. No la you're not the only fussy pot. My wife and I can be fussy too when comes to such quality. Anyway back to the flushing issue.... - toilet seat /cover can prevent those sai water from splashing out when u flush, however the seat/cover will kana also lor. So back to square 1 haha. - yeah I also needed 2 flushes when I do big business in my old Clayton . And the flush doesn't really wash the water down. I can see the flushed water floating up again every time I flush. And we're currently using Bravat toilet bowls. Half flush is strong enough to clear my business. Good luck in your hunt -

See ? Told u liao. Happened to my previous toilet bowl. 1 way to prevent splashing is to throw more toilet paper inside. -
Hi Sharon, A word of reminder. He can be forgetful on minor design details, and may take his own initiative. Workmanship and quality is still uncompromised, & we were happy with the end result. So it'll be better if you'd remind him on the knitty gritty stuffs.

Hi Sharon, We had the same issue on rough surface wood tiles. However we managed to spot 1 at hafary that has smooth finishing. To date no issues on cleaning them or dirt being trapped. The tile reference number is D915022 (15x90). If you're still concerned over the tiles you can ask K on his pasir ris customer. Haha By the way if he doesn't reply promptly means his scheduling his time table, and not that he has forgotten about the appointment. Sometimes no reply means consent. Haha. We were still liaising last week on additional carpentry works, and no reply on. When I called him he said "不是讲好星期六 ??"

Hi jsstory, Sorry for the late reply. With regards to your question on laminates, we know nuts about the technical details as we were too occupied with work during the reno process. All we know is that there were no rectification works required after handing over the flat to us. You can speak to the carpenters on this as they're friendly. As for the yamaha soundbar, they've got generally good reviews. You can also try Sonos though as they've got good reviews from renotalkers, and most renotalkers here do lots of homework to ensure cheap and good. Sorry can't help much.

By the way did you guys try Hafary ? Their wood tiles are lovely and it has a more "woody" feel in our opinion. But they cost more than soon bee huat.

Hi Sharon,Once the actual work starts, we don't need to remind or chase him. He organises his own schedule, and he will make sure everything is within schedule. For us, we are super busy with work, hence we needed a contractor whom we can handover our flat to with ease, and he's the right 1. So don't worry.

Yes, because it's more diluted. Need to pump more than before. Would rather use supermarket house brands.

Hi Mr Merry. Is the stag permanently placed outside ? Not afraid it might get stolen ?

Cloth better leh. Duster not 100% clean. And dust might drop on the floor.

Hi,It wouldn't be useful posting the links as the sellers get their products from the same few manufacturers, hence they're most prob of similar quality. Though most things are made in China nowadays, there will be QC conducted by the "brand owners" e.g ikea, and material used for the originals are also controlled. In my personal opinion it's a "heng suey" thing if one intends to buy from taobao. There'll definitely be some risks involved as the cost is low. Or maybe we're the few unfortunate ones.

Hi June The mrs here. I totally agree with you! We too jumped onto the taobao bandwagon as everyone was raving about it. No offence to taobao lovers out there, but it was a huge huge mistake. The lights and photo frames that we purchased were no good compared to the originals. They were badly made n the items were very dusty n dirty. Of course, after that, we decided there was no point saving such money as we weren't sure of the quality. We only have one taobao light up in the house n it hangs in the storeroom and it flickers all the time! I'm just waiting for the power to trip cos of this. As for the picture frames, should be simple n foolproof rite? But alas sigh they are quite badly made. But since we purchased so many of it, we will just make do with it. In any case, it is not structural and can be easily removed. Not like wirings and other permanent items. Needless to say, that is our first and last purchase from taobao. Sorry if I offended any taobao lovers out there! Just my own view...

Hi sarahlau, I guess pinkwhale and silver gorilla have both "retired" from renotalk. Yes workmanship for everything is top notch. You can read reviews of him from several blogs. Hope this helps.

Wow June I love everything about your house! Am not a fan of industrial design but you simply make it so so nice!

Hi projectH It's the Mrs here, don't worry too much! I'm sure everything will work out well! in any case, there's always renotalk you can turn to for help and advice. By the way, I like the vintage cloths! Which part of uk were they from? I've been buying a fair bit of stuff for the house from UK as well, very addictive I must say! -

Hi Greg , Like what Tessina said, just seal it with silicone. If the gap looks uneven, it's not the carpenter's fault. It's the unevenness of the wall and flooring that is inherent in all apartments. This is due to the constant expansion contraction. We can't expect the carpenters to completely flush the wood against the walls/floor. You can prevent moulds from growing in the silicone by spraying it with mould removers, this is especially so when the sink area is humid. Good luck.

Hi Sarah. No diff in amount of oil used. But happycall pan doesn't give the steak the "charred" and "grilled" texture as compared to cast iron. Cast iron makes the steak "restaurant standard" Furthermore the rubber that seals both sides of the pan comes off easily, and there are some areas which is hard to clean.

Hi ucypmas.Checked, and the bbc channels in viewqwest don't seem to have animal planet and national geographic. Think even the brits gotta subscribe to them. And to soccer fans, no sports channel as well. Anyway today's your big move ? Guess it'll be very tiring. Ours wasn't that bad as we did it piecemeal over the weekends.
