  1. The haze is getting to much. Even with aircon I have difficulty breathing. Is there any recommendation for a good air purifier?
  2. Hi Mindy, are you doing a 4rm or 5 room new flat or resale reno? 40K is normally sufficient to do new flooring stuffs, carpentry etc.. I think to get a good feel, you can use the renotalk quotation system ...from there you can compare the quotes and roughly what best offer you can get. http://www.renotalk.com/main/Renovation/Quotation/RenoQuoteRequestFormpg2.php
  3. I think bamboo charcoal works better than ordinary ones. get it from Daiso.. Bamboo charcoal absorbs harmful chemical in the air, it is especially useful for absorbing formaldehyde, ammonia, benzene in the air when there is painting done, or strong smelling adhesive is used indoors, or when antifreeze is kept indoors. It also reduces smog as it absorbs carbonic oxide, ammonia, formaldehyde, benzopyrene, nicotine, tar etc are found in smog, that is harmful to the human body.
  4. Just got my sengkang house and was looking for a contractor to overlay my kitchen, bathroom tiles and false ceiling works. Saw this advertisement and went to them to quote. They are quite fast I would say...Maybe because it is 7 month and I was the 1st few to enquire... They started the work last week and the tiling is completed this Monday. Quite responsive and Jonathan is very helpful to communicate and double check on my requirements ensuring no hiccups. I was expecting an uncle handling but to my surprise he is around my age group..so less communication gap He also gave suggestions to the type of tiles for bathroom, living room false ceiling design and help to coordinate some other works for me such as PUB gas and enquire about for us a painter price quote. When we inspect the work, the uncle doing the tiling also check with us if we wanted white / black cement to close the gap of our grey tiles telling us the pros and cons. Overall the tiling job looks good since they have been in the biz for many years, quite professional. No hiccups at the moment, need to take a look at the false ceiling this friday
  5. prob can consider to scrap the HDB 2.6% interest on loans for Sporeans. This way, the young Sporeans would pay off faster or their instalments would have reduced and their CPF savings would have increased.
  6. The link is broken. Just saw the other link at http://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10322p.nsf/w/SellFlatDIYvsAgent?OpenDocument DIY or Engaging Housing Agent Buyers and sellers are free to decide if they want to conduct their resale transaction by themselves or by engaging housing agents. It is not a requirement by HDB that resale transactions must be facilitated by housing agents. All resale flat sellers are required to go through the "Resale Checklist for Sellers" (for DIY Sellers) or "Resale Checklist for Housing Agents engaged by Sellers". After the Resale Checklist is completed, it must be deposited in HDB's Resale Checklist Repository by the next day. If the sellers plan to buy another flat, they would also have to attach softcopies of the “Estimated Sale Proceeds Statement” for their current flat and “Financial Plan” for the next flat purchase together with the Resale Checklist. More on Resale Checklistfor Sellers Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Selling If you intend to conduct your own resale transactions, you should equip yourself with the necessary information on HDB resale policies and procedures. The Resale Checklist for Sellers highlights the key policies and procedures that sellers should take note of before committing to a resale transaction, i.e before granting the Option to Purchase. In addition, you can also obtain information via the following avenues: Resale Seminars (In English, Mandarin and Malay) Read through this service package DIY Sellers (i.e. those who did not engage the services of housing agent) can submit their portion of the resale application or valuation request through e-Resale system. Read more on Submission of Resale Application or Submission of Valuation Request Engaging a Housing Agent The engagement of a housing agent is a private contractual agreement between you and the housing agent. HDB does not stipulate nor regulate the commission charged by housing agents. The commission rate may vary depending on the level of service and your needs as a consumer. If you decide to engage the services of a housing agent, ensure that you confirm on the following matters: Check whether the housing agent that you are engaging is registered with the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA). You can read more about housing agencies and agents from CEA website.Have you discussed and mutually agreed on the terms of service, commission payable, period of representation, exclusivity (if agreed upon) and any other terms such as payment of valuation, advertising etc? Your housing agent is required to go through the Resale Checklist for Housing Agents engaged by Sellers with you. Last Updated on 03 Jan 2011

  9. Hihi, If I am staying in HDB and I want to apply for the Esparina, I only qualify for 70% bank loan (have to make 30% downpayment )even though HDB already mandates that we sell the HDB flat after TOP?
