I Am Small But I Have All
Vct replied to sforshor's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat - HDB Resale Renovation & Interior Design
Thks bro PM received! For the bosch i mean u went to which shop? -
Im not too disturb by the insects/crawlers but wifey n kids detest n at the same time afraid of "them". To make things worst, my unit is very low so........ Lol.... Oh btw jiawen, u need to check if there's gaps in between the walls n your window grills, if not its pointless to install the insect screen. If no grills just windows then ok. I've got my contractor to fill silicon at the window grills sitting at my wall.

Thanks for the link yan01, was abt to ask the same question.

I just realised i spelled "kerb" into "curb"! Too stress, reno starting nx week.....
-
A definite YES!
-
Your contractor/ID should be able to do the small curb for u FOC. Its not a big item anyway. I will be getting this http://www.amazon.com/Window-Sealed-Hollow-Rubber-Adhesive/dp/B005XITHE4 or this http://www.amazon.com/M-D-Building-Products-1025-All-Climate/dp/B000HE7YQM/ref=pd_bxgy_e_text_z/178-3472156-0263934 to stick on the curb so that when u close the door, hopefully it will be able to prevent whatever crawlers from entering.
-
You can install this rubber but if the rubber is too soft, lizards n roaches will still be able to squeeze through. Another thing, since rubber cause friction when opening/closing, it will be sweeping your floor and dirt/dust will be trap below.

Jiawen, let me finish up my insect screen and show you. It should cost me less than $300 inclusive of the screen, magnet and 3M double sided tape.Btw, did you realised there will be a gap in between your main door and floor? Yes, insect can crawl in from there as well as highlighted by u. Get your contractor to do a curb there and when u closed your main door, the gap will be closed up. My 2cents...

Hi Shor, come come PM me the LED faucet and rain showerhead. If im not wrong, the rainshower head should be able to tilt right? Thanks in avance! -
Is my quotation reasonable or too high? Can anyone advise?
-
Jiawen, the material is soft and similar to those fish net feel. Actual material term am not sure. Bunbun, most insect screen that are ready made doesnt come cheap. Even the m'sia ones also quite ex. As i will be doing my whole house with 8 sets of windows, its cheaper to DIY since i Love to DIY

This is the insect screen i bought i'm talking about. Dimension is 1.5m x 1.3m. Hdb windows usually measures in between 1m - 1.1m Problems: 1) If you are covering up one set of windows only, ok more than enough. (one set means one window with 2 glass panels) (Gd luck if yours is sliding window, have to join/glue/sew 2 screen together) 2) If 2 sets of window in a row or more window, have to purchase more set. 3) As you can see on the pics, the velcro is on one side and the other side is adhesive tape to be paste on the window frame. 4) I tested the net on the velcro and when i tried separating them, the velcro is DAMAGING the net! (Bad design as we need to close window during rain right?) Solutions: 1) I've found a place selling exactly the same kind of net(plenty of colours) at around $30 -$50 for about 5m - 10m. (Unconfirm, will make a trip down to check) 2) I will be ordering magnet strip (one to be fix on the net and the other glue to the window frame) so that it will be easy to remove when closing windows. http://singapore.rs-online.com/web/c/fasteners-fixings/magnets-magnetic-strips/magnetic-strips/ 3) Good for sliding window as its one whole roll (cut your desire length) 4) The only thing i'm afraid is "what if the magnetic strips repel against each other?" = Die Btw, my unit is low level and with kids around, no choice whole house need to fix screen.

Couldn't agree more!! If u are on a tight budget, set your budget first (of course), follow by what u wanna do then cut out the "want" and do the "need" first.
-
LOL...

One of the best way is to get the supplier up yr house help u do measurement, anything goes wrong.... "They measure not u measure". "SAFE"Btw, thanks for the LED strip info. Will post my mosquito screen tomorrow, i think i can get cheaper but must DIY.
