hey, i done a platform for my mbr using floor laminate. as what songz say, its a more suitable material for floor, more durable i think. another thing is the joining will be rounded rather than sharp, impt point for me as i have kids. i have a friend who did her platform with laminate and she once drop her wedding photo on it and there is a dent to her platform. if she will to use floor laminate, she could easily change but as she's using carpentry laminate, she have no change but to live with the dent. then again she have no other issue with her platform after quite a number of years.

i got a macro gas heater. very happy with the purchase. it do take a bit of time for the hot water to reach the outlet but certainly not 10-15mins. i used to have a electric multi point heater, that take way longer than my current gas heater. do note the distance of the water pipe from your gas heater to the outlet, the longer your pipe, the longer it take for the heated water to reach you. no comment abt rainshower...

i bought all my lights from tb, tmall. i believe tmall seller are of better quality although they are not the cheapest. all my light reach sg in good condition, all of them works. very happy with the purchases. most led lights sells locally are from China too, local seller that can sell their lights are $10-15 are probably getting the lower end China manufacturer. why not use the $10-15 and buy direct from high end China seller. no warranty but the chances of getting a lousy light is lower so is the trouble of changing lights. anyway there are ppl telling me that we should not buy lights from China as local lights has some certification. if your house will to catch fire due to the lights, scdf will come after you. any true to that or this is just hearsay? those lights sells online has certification?

thanks for the trouble! love your combination of the console and tripod light. you got the sink from FIns on tb? my sink corner finish wasn't fantastic too. anyway no one will look so closely at the corners so still ok. my plumber complain that the drain pipe connection is complicated and bulk but hey no one will open the undersink door other than me so its totally fine with me.

had some water leaking issue and having some orange stuff forming on my toilet carpentry. told contractor and carpenter uncle came instead of water pipe uncle. before... carpenter came and apply lots of silicone... now instead of having orange stuff on the cabinet, i have lots of uneven silicone on the water pipe and wet silicone

glass panels for the kitchen was installed last Sat. only with the glass panels up then i realised another problem with the table top. the table top is slanted! see the gap between the fixed glass panel and the end of the table top is not constant! measure the width of the table top at different point and and difference between one end to the middle point of the table is abt 0.5cm! i didnt realise it before the installation of the glass panels but once its up, the slant is so obvious. is this acceptable? just texted my contractor, waiting for this reply. im quite OCD abt having straight lines, going crazy measuring the slant

thanks, this is the place where i spend all my effort on. glad that it turn out well. i seriously dont enjoy reno. find it really stressful to plan and design. plus budgeting for all these drives my bank account crazy. and since i shifted in, i found quite a number of defects which need rectification. and i keep questioning myself if i'm being too fussy or what...

i wasnt even there to supervisor the changing of the aircon pipe! dont know if i kana cheated on the pipe size, i just take my contractor word that they will be using the thickest insulation pipe for the whole place. since you had engaged them, it kind of no choice liao.

you had your hob so close to a carpentry? that's a laminate or kompac top? if its a laminate with plywood backing, i will be worry that it wont last with it being so close to flame and there could be a worry abt fire hazard.

all my blinds are up. finally can take down my bedsheet to use them as bedsheet... grey perforated blinds for living and dining. cant get a good picture of the color. but i really love this blind, match the color scheme of the kitchen. real boring blackout for the common room facing corridor. a nice wind chime place in this room per fsm instruction. cheery romam blinds choose by my gal. gender neutral fabric. a real cool shadow blind for the mbr. function like wooden blind but without all the cleaning. just dust and wipe for this one. love it...

i don't see this as a workmanship issue. the door seems to be working fine from your video. just that both you and the installer did not take in consideration of the towel bar at the back of the door. when the person came for measurement, they will have asked you which direction you will like your door to swing to. you will still face the same problem if you will to install a bifold door. by the way, im not fan of pd door. i had a hard time opening them as the magnet holding it is too tight. my 4yr old couldn't push the door open and the door wouldn't stay open. so we are always sliding in and out of the toilet. switched to bifold in my new place.

moved into the new place last sat, one day before the start of ghost festival. very glad that we are able to renovate and move in within such a short period of time. kudos to my contractor for his very fast work. although there are still quite a bit of rectification work to be do but in general he still does a good job. let's see how quickly he can complete all the rectification work. kitchen, the pride of my place, the only place with something to show... the rest of the house is empty Pending a fixed panel on the table top and the delivery of a down sized fridge. will only peel out the protective sheet on my chimney hood after every thing is up.

Contractor made the 1st major mistake on the reno on my kitchen table top! Instead of cutting it like this... It got cut like this... I got this sink with the specific intention to have the tap mount on the bowl instead of table top. If i want my tap to be mounted on the table top i will have gotten a regular 2 bowl sink. According to him most ppl will mount the tap on table top as its going to be more stable, which i agree but for all my life i had my tap mounted on my sink and none of them wobble or leak. Plus this sink from tb is 1.2mm thick, the thickest sink i ever had, i quite certain that the tap will be stable. Now that the tap is mounted on the table top, the height of the tap got increase and i feel more water splashes out of the sink. Dont know how is he going to solve this issue. Change the top? Haiz...

Drama is nv ending during reno... Arranged for fridge delivery 2days back and guess what my hitachi fridge cant get thru the door even after the delivery guys removed the fridge door. And since im using the combi door, hitachi delivery guys have no idea how to remove the door. With just a few more centimeters my fridge will be in. Made another round of calls to Doc Door, was told that it will be difficult to remove the door as its very heavy, they will need 2 person to be down and it will cost me $200. There go my chio hitachi 3 door fridge.

I suppose buying digital lock over at Qoo10 is a little like buying fan from malaysia and lights from tb. There's bound to be risk but the price differences is simply too big. Got another call from someone from Dr Door again. This guy called to follow up on my interest with the combi door at the kovan roadshow. So i asked him the question on the digital lock again. Guess what this time round i was told that a simple digital lock without the handle could be installed on the door. Surprise surprise.

Agree that digital lock do bring along great convenient but its hard to justify spending 900 for it. Esp when budget running tight adter house purchase and reno. What upset me is that a simple digital lock, those that doesnt comes with door handle could do the same and i saw it being installed on the combi door but they refused to install those lock but to insist on the expensive ones.

i haven't start using it! but the door looks good, quite solid. i told u about the promotion i see at kovan rite. so i told my contractor i wanted the door. and since all my window and toilet doors are from dr door, i asked my contractor to coordinate with them. he came back telling me that the door costed 2k. but i could not believe it coz i rmb clearly that its abt 1.6k at the kovan roadshow. so i went to their fb site and saw these two pictures. I even make a trip to their showroom to have a look at the actual product. and i was show this... was told that i could only choose between light grey and dark grey for the gate. so i told the sales person that i wanted this gate and chosen the light grey gate, gave the person my address and told him that since my contractor is using them for my house, i will get him to coordinate. looks like i had settle everything rite. was very happy that i got a good deal for the door. then contractor called me to say that the promote doesn't apply to the smooth gate. the price is only available for this gate and in this color or gold and black.... contractor advise against it as this gate design is really old-fashion. so another round of calling from me to dr door. this gate and the one i see is obviously different. so they are trying to con or misled consumer? after alot of phone calls, i compromise on the gate design but they have to paint it in a single colour. then i asked them about digital lock. according to the lady i speak to, only the samsung push and pull digital lock could be used for this gate and they are selling it ard 900. i told her that i just want a simple digital lock, those without the door handle. she says that those could not be installed on this gate. bull****... the demo gate i sees at their kovan roadshow has the those simple digital lock installed. according to the sales person at kovan, i could get those digital lock from Qoo10 and give it to them for installation. so i asked the lady if i could do that, guess what is the answer. NO! who will want to pay 900 for a same lock i could get from Qoo10 at 300plus. then i asked if i could have the digital lock installed at a later stage, she too says that that cannot be done. wth... im so tired talking to them. u get different answer from different person you talked to. so i settle for a normal key lock.. they have great product but lousy sales person and misleading market strategy. paiseh such a long complain i wrote. but i was really

My main door is installed! Got this combi door on a promotion price but didnt have a very good experience with doc door. Carpenter is at the place to finish up the work. Target to have the reno wrap up by tomorrow.

I have 3 panels, one on top of another so will require 2 locks. Contractor say they will make adjustment to it. Not sure what he means. Yes, part of the reson is to accommodate fs requirement. Ending the platform before the toilet entrance is more of a practical reason. Laminate won't last if it consisting get wet. It sort of created a cozy corner either for reading or maybe a study table in future. Rite now im going to put my bb cot there.
