  1. **poof** i have taken the pictures off my blog. thanks for looking.
  2. thanks. as much as i'd like a new apartment, they're too expensive since we just got back to sg and had to buy at the height of the property boom. so decided to get an older place and spend more on renovation. 67k inclusive of GST. Not incl fittings and fixtures eg taps, loos, door handles, cooker etc, lights, electrician, aircon and grills. actually fuse concept's quotation was the cheapest of the lot when we were ID-hunting and their ideas/3D pics were nicer than others. so cheaper and nicer - no brainer. one ID quoted me 90K!
  3. wow i loved going through your blog. very detailed.
  4. thanks. i went to ikea yesterday, didn't see much around and the biggest we saw aren't big enough. maybe must wait for new stock. will check out taka. wonder if isetan has any..i bought some years ago, japanese MOGU brand, do they still have them?
  5. love your place! strong, bold design yet very sleek and clean. very very nice, congrats.
  6. For the longest time, I've been looking for really big cushions. So hard to find! Esp plain ones. Anyone seen any around, please let me know. Thanks v much!
  7. i love the foyer and the living feature. actually all very nice! must bookmark kevin for my next reno
  8. You can see the before and after pictures of my reno on my LJ blog http://millionairess.livejournal.com/ ID: Fuse concept Area: 130sqm/1400sqft Took 2 months to finish most of the basic works, carpentry etc. An additional month for all defects, minor and major to be corrected. The ID's didn't do a good job when it came to logistics and arrangements with contractors. Also the contractors weren't briefed properly so many appointments were made just to deal with one defect. Highly stressful, time consuming and irritating for me. I have taken all my leave days and beyond because of improper and pointless appointments made. Not only that I still have to brief the contractors myself. Furnishing, fixtures and fittings from : Joven heaters HansGrohe Olivieri Fujioh something Samsung Mitsubishi inverter aircon Lights from Lumiere (look for Han Kok) Molecule rugs and ashtrays Sealy Queen for mbr King Koil Queen for guestroom Barang Barang sofa and dining chairs (cheap!)
  9. definitely charge rental as well as pro-rate conservancy/maintenance fees.
  10. i average $120 - 150 every month, sometimes more, seldom less. 2 ppl, aircon and laptop on 24/7, washer and dryer used about 2-3 times a week. considering my aircon usage, not too bad, gallon heater
  11. i'm about finsihed with my reno. i am generally pleased with the results but my ID is a nightmare when it comes to logistics and problem solving. i won't rec my ID but generally, fuse concept is ok IF you get a good, prompt and reliable ID.
  12. Hi I'm new to this forum. Have been reading up on the reno threads a lot but have not contributed anything there yet. I'm still searching for an ID for my new place. My hubby works late everyday. When we were living overseas, he is much more relaxed and we spend lots more time together. Still he did lots of traveling so I'm alone most of the time anyway. Here I don't see him till 11ish at night, sometimes later. He goes into the office on Saturdays anyway but we usually have dinner on Sats and Sundays he's free - unless there's some work thing again. I trust my husband totally and he trusts me too, I"m after all a "lonely housewife". Was reading up the 100% vs 80-20% posts. All I can say is right now we trust each other completely, I've never looked at his pager and mobile in the past 12 years we've been together nor do we check each other's email accounts and other stuff. For me it is easy to trust him, he's not done anything to make me feel suspicious and likewise for me. I think so long as one is comfortable with their approach, attitude and philosophy towards their marriage and the approach works for them eg. give them peace of mind; all is good. For me, I give my all, no reservations at all. If he ever does anything to disappoint me, there is nothing I can do. I can't imagine living a life where I nurture a degree of suspicion and distrust about my husband. I think it's accumulative. Both of us have not done things or have lifestyles that encourage affairs. There are always better looking and more sucessful people out there. So long as we do not put ourselves in situations where we become vulnerable to temptations, we're cool. I think I am straying away from the main topic, so yes mine works late and sometimes he's often away for days. I can't wait to start work because the aimless wandering around orchard and shopping is killing my wallet!
