IMM Grohe retail are having 30% off their selected regular price item, but after calculation, i still purchase them cheaper from Amazon. Just take for example what i purchase from Amazon: Toilet paper holder from SG selling $85 before discount. After discount $59.50 (Not sure if got discount a not but lets' say if have) Amazon: selling 29.99 USD = $41.60 (1.39 fx) - combine with other items for free shipping. Robe hanger (SG) : $38 Amazon : $29 after fx. I'm still geared towards purchasing online for such item because i still cannot justify why should i be paying more for the same thing? Cheers!

I still will purchase them as 2 units instead of 1 due to the fact that combining two 'work' into one will means having more parts inside the machine. More parts = increase opportunity for different parts to break down. The simpler the machine doing one single function the better, but maybe next time when 2 units start to phase out combining into one unit then probably i will start thinking. However, i think it is good to try and let us know, because i'm not a risk taker for this kind of items.

How Will This Taobao House End Up?! Industrial Or Dust?
benetay replied to Fingerscrossed's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat
Nickel is slightly more corrosion resistance compared to chrome which tarnish in a year for bathroom accessories. I opt for nickel as second choice to ss. Good luck on your reno looking good already. -
My kraus bathroom sink just arrive. Big packaging. By next week all the rest of the taps and accessories will arrive but our reno not started yet.

Our New Home (Wood & White Maybe Scandinavian?)

Very nicely done! -
You might want to start selecting.

No it will not. Experience plumber should not give any issue.

Kraus uses 3/8 inch piping but it's fine. Singapore uses 1/2 inch. The plumber if he doesn't know how to fit than its an issue but there is a solution for it is to get the adaptor. Going to test the contractor and see if he knows how to fit the pipes and where to look for the adaptor .

Hi Peanut I think our concept quite similar, good looking sink and update us with your house. Very impressive. Considering 25K for reno and 18k for appliances and furniture I think it is quite reasonably budgeted. Cheers!

many considerations I think, like what happens if our laborer get injured etc but if we do so we can actually ask ID to remove the haulage and hacking portion as they are usually same person. Frankly it's not that difficult, I have tried haulage doing reno for a private house on landscape. I get quite piss off when I see Id quoting sky high haulage and hacking. I can understand if they quote cost of raw materials like sand More expensive now but that is not their practice.

Very good read and i agree with gkbt that Singapore Water is already very good to a very large extend. I have seen yellowish water coming out from taps overseas and they do not even have filters like we do. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

After researching a bit online here are some observations i have made which also concluded myself to purchase the stated brand for bathroom accessories. Not referring to taps or sink. Just towel bars, hooks, etc. Brands in scope: Kohler Grohe Hansgrohe Kraus Moen Highest price is Kohler followed by the rest. If have deep pockets and willing to spend can go towards Kohler. Immediately scale down to Grohe onwards and they are all generally more affordable and certainly will not break an arm and leg for some common bathroom accessories. I purchase these in Amazon because since i am already purchasing some, might as well since it is free shipping to Singapore above USD 125. Grohe, Hansgrohe and Kraus are similarly match in their prices with Moen coming lowest in price. However, when i check reviews of similar purchases like towel bar, Moen has far more reviews compared to the rest. Could also be due to the price hence more customer purchasing. All comes normally in Nickel and chrome some in stainless steel (rarely). In the end i chose Grohe (aesthetic) and Moen (value) bathroom accessories. Taps, sinks, Kraus any time. Cheers!

Arrived. 3 working days. In the end put in 2 additional orders for Kraus bathroom sink. 2 Kraus taps and some bathroom accessories from Moen and one from Grohe. I kind of prefer Moen bath accessories for the same quality vs Kraus or the higher range ones. Job partially done shopping online. Cheers!

Sounds bad. How about showing us some pictures? Indeed this is a warning to all. -
Can get from amazon direct. have to purchase 1/2 to 3/8 adaptor would work.

Hi all, Would like some recommendation for toilet accessories and which brand do you normally go for and where do you purchase them? When i look at towel bars it seems like getting stainless steel is better but the ones i saw online are normally Chrome, nickel. brands such as Moen for example do not have SS towel bars and i'm surprise. Other things like toilet roll holder etc. Appreciate your recommendation. Cheers!

Ya hence we didn't proceed with overlaying some of the tiles, it's just too expensive considering the area required.
-
Very interesting concept! thanks for sharing. I actually toyed with the idea of Japan theme too but the real Japan home will have decking throughout the house and it cost a lot after quote from ID. So decided to drop the idea. Also have to overlay the current tiles with wood ones, very expensive so i can now only see others Cheers~

Looks expensive. Quartz and cabinet fabrication about $120 per feet onwards, might want to do more research in the forum about better Ids. Best to have all items broken down so you are able to compare Apple to Apple via feet run.

Hacking and new tiles can be expensive. Just overlay kitchen is about 2-3k for 3 room bto.

I go there on business during the ice festival period. You can book via tour agent or simply just book air ticket and hotel accommodation then when you're there, ask the hotel to arrange a taxi for you to bring you around. Does not cost much and the taxi is all yours for the entire day. Enough time to visit up to 3 locations have lunch and shopping for some local products. They're very famous in their black fungus and some other things. booking package is fine as well. Cheers!

I Am Small But I Have All
benetay replied to sforshor's topic in Reno t-Blog Chat - HDB Resale Renovation & Interior Design
Bro Sforshor, i agree with you on using AE, it's really more worth it in the long run and i'm doing that myself. Do you mind sharing the LED contact? Appreciate it and thanks for sharing. Cheers! -
Check the voltage instead, i bought 4 x Philips sonic clean tooth brush from US, all okay. Ipad, mini ipad, etc 220-240v is okay. If the appliances states 110 V then you'll need to step up transformer.
