  1. haha, ya, I never considered thickness of the wall... which took up quite a lot. Mine has completed building and I estimate to collect keys in another few months time. Do you plan to seal any of bathroom doors? I hope to have a dry bathroom so planning to close the kitchen - bathroom door and put in a L-shape shower screen. But that may need to change the basin position...
  2. Hi Kyooko! Nice to see fellow 2-roomers My biggest concern is on space maximisation. I went to HDB showroom and realised that the actual size of the rooms are much smaller that what I have imagined looking at the floor plan... Still hoping to see some actual pictures...
  3. wow! That looks expensive! I wonder how to work out the PFR (per foot run)? That should be a more accurate assessment, assuming the thickness is the same. This thread talks about PFR rate: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/71069-market-rate-for-carpentry-works/ I am also considering doing platform for both bedroom and living room due to limited space. Hope some expert can help to provide more information.
  4. Sorry to see your reno nightmare. Pls share the identity so that we can avoid this ID. Thanks.
  5. Hi Arnold, mind to share Contractor Boon's contact details? Thanks! I seriously like his consideration / practical suggestions on the shoe cabinet and the solution on deadspace. I think I might adopt your design of your MBR...
  6. Getting my keys soon but couldn't see a single 2-Room design in Renotalk, or maybe my research is not detail enough yet. Any existing 2-room BTO owner care to share design / plan and some pictures? Much appreciate in advance. 7. Thanks for the information. 90cm x 65cm quite small I feel. The ID said my L-shape shower screen is 90cm x 90cm which I thought was quite ok, but still have to depends on the actual size of the bathroom after I collected the keys. Will go for the basin mirror! save me $420!
  8. Interesting and brave decision to almost overhaul the whole layout. Cant wait to see the end result.
  9. I raise both hands and both legs, agree to your no cove lights, no brick walls and the ceiling fan. I like the design of blocking the bed using the wardrobe. See if my layout can fit or not. Thanks and look forward to your sharing.
  10. Yes, am considering putting tv in bedroom cos mine is only 2-room. that will give my hall more space.
  11. Hi Raydon Sorry to see the water leakage. Hope HDB can give a satisfactory solution to it. I am interested in your shower screen in the common bathroom. May I know the length & width? Does a medium build guy feel restricted inside? As in bang here bang there during normal shower? How much does your contractor quote you for this? For my bathroom, the ID quoted: 3' top hung cabinet with mirror - $480 (which I think your basin mirror can replace this, how much u bought from ikea?) 3' vanity cabinet - $390 3' solid surface - $240 Shower Screen L shape - $650
  12. Hello, enjoy reading your T-blog. As per many other readers, please pm me your contractors contacts. Much appreciate that.
  13. Inspired by your "no tv console" living room, I am now considering do I really need a TV console? LOL.
