Wow, what a visual effect of the tiger tiles *mao mao* It does look like a carpet to me and I would feel very lazy to move my butt elsewhere if I lie on the tiles to snooze. kekeke.

Haha sure, provided you all won't find my pastries too sweet for you de.
-
I keep that in mind. Hopefully, Mr Bun is not too tired from work on that day.
-
Oh! So this is the potluck event the others were saying about. Blur me! I already have a date on that day, so paiseh paiseh unless the event date can be changed?
-
born_again, did you get my pm for the recipes?
-
Angel, Precious : I'm not going for the potluck party on that day de, got something else on that day ba. Timing clash cos already have something up for that day About that ah, precious.. think got some problem cos just now talk to my hubby about the gathering at your place. I pm you about it. I thought I am supposed to bring cookies for the PPP?
-
Er.. me a teacher? I CMI as a teacher leh, cos i teach also not eloquent ba. I did chewy chocolate chip cookies before but the standard is not up to subway std de, cos its very breakable if not handled carefully and doesn't totally 'melt' the same way in the mouth i guess? Taste is sweet though cos of the chocolate chips.

Buy the japanese green tea bags leh, can brew it at PJ's home. Cold green tea not good to have after eating cos cold drinks will solidify the food thats not digested yet into fat that's not burnt yet. Btw have you people tried RFD's signature carrot cake? Yummylicious

Precious, me and the hubby should be able to make it for the PPP but we'd be only there for a short while 'cos we've got something on that day. Can I have your address if its convenient for you to give now?

Beach road has alot of makan places! Somemore quite near bugis mrt and suntec city sia. Plus if ever want to go malaysia for holiday, can even walk to the bus area at Queens St nearby. It's the first I see a balcony there, reminds me a little of those shophouses where there's a so-called balcony at the back of the kitchen in those mediacorp shows.

Well.. I guess you got a point about my utensils huh? Looks like I got to have a separate utensils for that purpose. Yeah I guess?
-
Yes some will not accept but baking pans and etc would not have touched non-halal stuff since they're mostly used to bake cakes, pastries right? Do enlighten me on this.
-
You can give them as long as the ingredients are halal. *grins* fruits are okay, but flour, food colouring and vanilla essence must have halal sign on their packaging.

Like nottimonster mentioned, there's pros & cons. We'd initially wanted to get induction hob but after hearing that can only use 2 hobs at the same time if get 4 induction hob & comparing our budget for the hob, we decided to get the VC hob since there's just 2 of us to cook only. We don't cook alot so the VC suited our budget and practicality. You should decide based on your budget and your preference.
-
Newnyew, you're welcome. No leh, just happens me and my hubby went shopping for either induction or vitroceramic hob last time before we bought a vitroceramic hob. Guess that knowledge helped!
-
Im using vitroceramic hob Induction hob and vitroceramic hob run on electricity. Difference between the two is that for induction hob, heat will only give out when metal pans come into contact so it is safe to touch it even when it is on. Vitroceramic can burn your hand when its on so got to be careful when its on. Plus if you have 4 hobs, you can only use 2 hobs out of the 4 as cannot use all 4 hobs to cook at the same time due to the voltage of electricity. That's what I heard from the salesperson at Mayer. Also, the voltage should be 30amp for the hob according to the HDB guidelines. You should have a copy if it when you got the keys of your place. *Note: Do note that the amp will differ for different flats types. Price wise, induction hob is more expensive than vitroceramic hob and it doesn't take long for induction hob to get hot also but not much difference for the time taken to heat up for both induction and vitroceramic I guess? I mentioned the differences between the two before long time ago in a thread on the subject by another forumer. Should be around in this forum but need to dig it up

It's always better to bake 1-2 days in advance for cheesecake cos cheesecake flavour 'release' better in the fridge that way.
-
Relax relax. I'm sure your cake will be tasty.
-
No leh, seeing your cheesecake, I want to eat also. Waiting for a taste of your sinful cheesecake so dun stress!
-
Or better, buy drinks for us best. Usually if the person does not know what to order or the budget for it, at least give him a few options to choose, easier for both parties and budget.
-
Try doing the 300g cake first as an experiment.

Should help him set a budget?
