  1. My sincere apologies for that if it offends you as I am not familiar with the aussie slang. But it might be different to others in a way that its like associated with butch or tomboys whom some are considered crass or crude in how they carry themselvs. Please do not take offence though. I mean no insult to the ladies here as I am one myself. This applies to other ladies who might be offended by the way I say it. It did sound like the way a guy talks a little crudely which is one reason why the word "buaya" came up & I thought the same thing. Paiseh
  2. Hi Hapimint, Paiseh for the late reply, haven't been looking in Ho Bee thread as often as I do in T-blog section. Based on the currency rate, can consider it as cheap. Only thing is what you spend on furniture in sg is about roughly the same amount spent in JB except the currency is different. As for installment plans, I do not know since my furniture is fully paid up. If you would like to get furniture from the place where I bought my furniture, pm me for the address.
  3. Har, 123abc is a female??? Females are not so straight-talking like the way 123abc said it out. Sounds a bit crude ma unless is either a butch or a tomboy if female. (No offence meant, just that the way its phrased out sounds really crude, ie; 'waterhole' somemore.) Anyway, mankind has evolved, so has the primal instincts. It's just gone up a notch better so its not just about mating with just anyone in particular. Feelings are now considered. If in the past back to stoneage, its just about the mating process that was prevalent without considering feelings then. The sad fact is that sometimes we do not always think clearly and often end up making mistakes when we should be learning instead. ChunkyMonkey has said it out that one should be responsible for his/her actions so having an affair definitely is not worth destroying a happy family or happy memories.
  4. Wow so nice the kitchen island Now me envy 'cos I also would like to have kitchen island but kitchen space wise dunno if can place one in as my kitchen area is longish like a slim rectangular not a fat square where can have spaced out area better
  5. Ah now I know ICI paint service is free~ Kekeke. Nippon got charge a fee for the same service but overall you got an idea of how your place will look like with the colours.
  6. Mafiawife~~~ The hotel is in the sukhumvit area. This will give you a clear idea of where it is---> http://www.lefenix-sukhumvit.com/location.php We'd only headed to the malls in the city like Centralworld, MBK Centre are at & there's the chatuchak market which is open only on weekends which is where one can bargain also. If not can go Platinum fashion mall which is open all week since got many things to buy from jeans to dresses and more. No worries, home stuff are still considered buys ma and your house is soooooo nice with all your purchases. Serious you slim down? Im not sure but yeah the weather is a killer. I got to to the thai people for being able to tahan esp with heavy traffic in thailand.
  7. Your hubby owns the company btw? Easy, throw away old, unused stuff you will not use again lah, saves more trouble to pack many things
  8. Wah, so cute the doggie bed & your adorable dog too. Hehehe your bed looks very inviting with the bedsheets & that.
  9. It is said that to seek solace would be in alcohol. Granted that you will forget about your troubles for a while but the next day, it will still be the same as usual unless you want to face the music and live life properly. That said, an affair does not really solve this or that problem in marriage does it? If it takes 2 hands to clap to marry & divorce in the same breath. Then it is really pointless just to seek marriage when the heart is not there. Just like some have pointed out, what comes around will go back to the guilty person in the end.
  10. Wah you haven't even found a place yet? Another alternative is to leave them with your family or your hubby's family for the time being first le.
  11. Don't be sad. Peggy has had a good life thanks to your sponsorship. She will be happy where she is now. There is an affinity between you and peggy since your paths crossed in this life.
  12. That is all I have taken of my buys from Chatuchak market on sunday. Our next shopping destination was the Platinum Fashion Mall yesterday after we'd checked out of the hotel. In fact we only had time to do light shopping only since we were due to be at the airport after that. One thing about the Platinum Fashion Mall is that it is a wholesale retail center where you can get some clothings in a bundle. For eg; you can get 3 shirts together at for a price if the shop offers I had bought a couple dresses together for a price there before on my 1st trip before and it is a good buy to begin with since it is relatively cheap. So this is one place you can consider on your shopping list. My last buy from BKK is a pair of wedge shoes for 390 baht($17 SGD) from Platinum Fashion Mall Front view Side View And lastly a present from Mr Bun. Thanks Hubby! The design of your choice can be hot stamped onto the shirt of your preferred colour. The name of the shop there at Platinum Fashion Mall is Chaba Shop, on the 4th floor
  13. Cap is a present from Mr Bun which cost about 150baht($7 SGD) Bath Towel. There's this stall selling towels, can get them in a set as in Hand towel, Face Towel, Bath Towel together. Some towels comes in other designs/patterns besides animal patterns, definitely look as good as those Aussino Towel sets. Not only that, they are also thick which is good for drying without getting too wet from absorbing water droplets from the body. Will definitely buy more from this place next time I go Chatuchak market. We walked around Chatuchak market & noticed some shops that sell furnitures & lighting fixtures. One piece of the furniture is just like one of the forumer's dining chairs (Wondeboyz & Finesse ) but didn't ask about the price though. There are buddha paintings, still photograpy portraits & oil paintings. I must say the photography is rather entertaining. Then we saw these...... CUTIES!!! These are golden labradors breed if I am not mistaken Those dear small puppies. The one in the pink cage is very small & kept crying to be let out. And this puppy looks very mischievous. It is the one that came to me looking like it wanted to be mine. Couldn't resist patting it & was very tempted to carry it also. Those puppies are selling at 4000 baht ($200 SGD) Kinda unbelievable for the price since those are pedigrees.
  14. No prob about the pics. Yeah chatuchak is very warm & its easy to get lost in that big market somemore.. The more I think about the maze in the market, I think it is really easy to part with the money for shopping 'cos the more shops you pass by, sure bound to buy something! Good marketing strategy? It's about 100 sgd per night for the hotel stay as part of the travel package booked with AirAsia. Skywolf, yup got free tutuk service to the nearest BTS station. Comparing the common tutuks which have 1 seat bench for 2 persons, the one by LeFenix have 2 seat bench for at least 4 persons max. You can be sure that this tutuk will not drive crazily like those tutuks zipping in and out of traffic areas. Posting more pics coming soon
  15. But I would rather stay at Samran next time. Just behind Asia Hotel and BTS. Much better. Mr Bun
  16. Wah, take care of yourself le. Later Ran heartpain to see you hurting badly.
  17. We went to Chatuchak market on sunday. But what didn't totally prepare us was HOW HOT & WARM it was at chatuchak market somemore. I had drunk water from 2 bottles of mineral water I shared with Mr Bun & 2 soft drinks also. But didn't even go toilet whole time I was at the market 'cos I was perspiring ALOT. I even had leg cramps from all the walking due to the market being very big & we were getting lost in that big maze of market, looking for the exit. I was there for 3 quarters of the day there. Somewhere along the way, there will be things that will catch your eye. Chatuchak market is where you can put your bargaining power to use. We'd bargained for things at got almost all things at a low price though. Do remember to bargain & it is quite fun too. Our first buy at Chatuchak market, Black peper & shalt shaker with box set 2 pairs of slippers. Very Cheap and very nice also. 110 Baht (About $5 SGD) Dress & Shorts. Bought separately at different shops Mens' Shirts Bought this for my hubby, Mr Bun Okie will post up the rest of the pics tomorrow. Its getting late. So good night all.
  18. Penguin hiding inside its enclosure cave A very cute sea otter. Those sea otters are soo cute A very BIG water rat.. didn't know it is a rat until I saw its description there. Really big sia Then we dropped by MBK Center, we also bought dry food stuff to bring back to singapore for colleagues & family. It was all packed in one big bag which was surprisingly heavy!!! Hehe, its very hard to recognise me wor since my face not visible. Yah alot of face pics there. But really funky. I also wonder too if the others will like my reviews? I didn't take pics of the food I ate 'cos mostly are street food types. I will post some pics of the things I bought. Next coming up is the famous chatuchak market review and some pics of my buys from Chatuchak market there. The nearest BTS station is Mo Chit which is where chatuchak market is located nearby. For pet lovers out there. ZEN@centralworld has very cute pet stuffs like pet beds & etc. Chatuchak market have also. But the biggest bit should be the Ozone mall or something like that starting with a 'O' letter cos I was browsing through this free copy magazine in the hotel room that lists all places for shopping and eating. This place is very pet friendly, meaning can take pets with you shopping there.
  19. Upclose of this quirky painting at the area hidden from view by glass divider. Also in this same area is the toilet doors with the signature L-shape door handles Those are all the pics I took of the hotel. The hotel is also near Grand President hotel, Business Inn hotel & a few hotels. There are also a few massage shops including a few bars & a few western dining places. Thai body massage is in the range of 250-300 baht ($11-13 SGD) for 1 hour while foot massage is for 250 baht ($11 SGD) for 1 hour. We went to central world first on saturday where we dropped by this shop, Human Touch which sells household accessories & quirky pillow covers. Their designs are probably familiar with those who go bugis junction 8 where one stall sells such things. Their designs can be viewed at www.humantouchthailand.com I bought 6 quirky coasters & 2 glasses which bears the words 'Soul Mate' when put together side by side from human touch. The coasters are about 450 baht altogether, 75 baht each. After discount with the tourist discount card, it is about 434.75 baht ($19 SGD) while the glasses is about 160 baht, After discount, 144.75 baht ($6 SGD) The 2 shawls shown are from MBK center on the 4th or 5th floor. Bought at 700Baht ($30 SGD) Then we headed to Siam Paragon where we went to Siam Ocean World. It is a bit like the sentosa's underwater aquarium with alot of sea creatures. There, we went on this boat ride where there are sharks & fishes below us. OMG alot of sharks~! I was holding onto the boat rail a bit nervous le. Some pics taken at Siam Ocean World. Pic of this shark swiming (Sorry again for the bad quality pic 'cos its a little dark inside.)
  20. View of bathroom on the right where wash basin & toilet bowl is at View of cafe on 3rd floor View of buffet area on 3rd floor View of outside from cafe on 3rd floor Area near the seating area which is hidden from view with frosted glass divider
  21. The room comes with a suspended wardrobe which also houses a mini fridge, safe box And this suspended shoe cupboard which is beside the wardrobe A big mirror, long tv console & a wall mounted white samsung lcd tv (Most rooms should have samsung lcd tv since the cafe on 3rd floor has one!) View of hotel door & toilet door side. (LeFenix signature is a big L door handle on all its glass doors other than the L-shape windows on the outside btw) View of bathroom on the left side where shower area is. Yes its all in mosaic tiles in dark olive green
  22. Another view of the waiting area at lobby, 2nd floor View of reception area at lobby, 2nd floor One of the painting/portrait on the wall facing reception area Another painting/portrait at waiting area facing the staircase View of staircase which leads to the 3rd floor where there's a cafe where we had our breakfast for 3 days. (We stayed 3d 2n) Did I mention that LeFenix provides free tutuk service to the nearest BTS station? There are several BTS Station in Sukhumvit area. But the nearest one is the BTS Nana. We didn't take taxi to go places except to take cab to hotel from airport on arrival on sat afternoon & back to airport this afternoon. So transport is relatively cheap. After we checked in at the hotel on sat afternoon, we went to BTS Siam where Siam Square, CentralWorld is located. Nearby is MBK Center but the most nearest BTS station to MBK center is National Stadium though. If you shop at centralworld, be sure to get the tourist discount card which is free and entitles you to 5-70% discount at most shops in centralworld. Also can get the tourist discount card at MBK center but discounts are at the bigger shops in MBK center only. Just for additional info, for more than 5,000 baht spent on shopping per person, one is entitled to VAT refund. Just look for shops that display the VAT refund for tourist sign. Beside the staircase at waiting area, view of corridor where the rooms are View from the hotel room entrance when we opened the door Upclose view of bed. Very inviting right? The bed is actually cosy and nice to sleep on Another view of the bed & table from the windows side A different angle of the bed
  23. Hi all, Im back from my trip to BKK. Glad that the weather held up. Sunny and warm. The thunderstorm part we got from the weather report online was for another part of BKK which was in the papers this morning before we checked out of the hotel. So thank god! For those planning to go BKK & those interested in the LeFenix Hotel. My take on the hotel is that it's not a big hotel by hotel standards considering its a boutique hotel. (It's about 8 floors with a rooftop lounge on the top) Lobby area is very retro with funky portraits/paintings. There are a couple of paintings at the 3rd floor which is where the cafe is. So retro, I got to say. Standard room is adequately furnished with the basic facilities to use, not to mention that guests at the hotel is entitled to 2 hours free WI-FI surfing but this is only if you bring your laptop I think. For the record, I didn't exactly explore the hotel as I was out shopping hehe. Service wise, Mr Bun thinks that the service is barely adequate, breakfast so-so and room is okay. He gave it a 3 stars out of 5 stars. As for me, I think since the hotel room is adequate for our stay as in just a room with bed, bathroom is good enough, fairly decent for the price we'd paid for (100sgd per night). For food, we only had breakfast at the cafe on the 3rd floor. We didn't even have any lunch or dinner at the restaurant on the 2nd floor so no comments or rating. The only inconvenience encountered might be the shower part as it is either too hot or too cold if you do adjustment from right to left. Nonetheless the shower pressure is strong though. Pics can tell you what your eyes see so here they are! Le Fenix in daytime taken on sunday Side view of Le Fenix taken on Saturday night. Its kinda blur cos had to watch out for vehicles at the same time View of restaurant from lift on 2nd floor which is the lobby area Another angle shot of restaurant again. View of waiting area at lobby on 2nd floor More pics coming up!
