  1. Hi all, If you call up BLUM, they will tell you their authorised seller is at Upper Bukit Timah Road(Near Ten Mile Junction), Kiang Sing Hong Hardware. I got my hinges plus soft closing(1 set) for ard $3.00. My ID wanted to charge me $16 for one set of BLUM Hinges. But i refused to be a carrot. However i do understand that they do include installation charges. But the amount is just too muCh..
  2. Hey, we got ourselves the Sealy San Marino model and micro suede bed frame($2500. No regrets...
  3. For me i don't think so.. u can ask how many % of acrylic, i was told not to get 100% acrylic. As it gets scratch more easily. But at the end of the day, solid surface still get scratch. visibility depends on the colour that you chose. chEErs..
  4. I also own a 37" Samsung LCD. Bought less than 6mths. Fuzzy lines are appearing intermittently on CH5 only. At first was quite confirm it is Starhub cable signal problem after confirmation from Shop Towkay and Samsung contractor. But i was wrong lor, the fuzzy lines did not appear at that time. When Starhub contractor came and test on MATV(Mediacorp antenna), fuzzy also appears. So it is the TV problem...wasted $31.20!! But if you are on Starhub Digital cable, you won't be able to see these lines. Most likely transmitter problem from LCD TV. Already contacted Samsung to die die must rectify..
  5. This reno company gives you the first 10FT FOC and and if your final kitchen cabinet(top + bottom) works out to be ard 20FT. You will be charged only that 10Ft. That means you pay $1000 for 20Ft Kitchen cabinet. You need to know how much is he charging PFR, usually they will give you solid postform top with ABS trimming..
  6. Hi, I also got the Manhattan Series dining set. How many chairs you got and is it a 1.4 or 1.7FT table? Due to space constraint, we chose the 1.4 with 4 chairs...
  7. You can try Kiang Sing Hong Hardware at Upper Bukit Timah Road. The uncle quote me $10 less. I did not get because my gate dimension is slightly bigger than Duro Lock Standard dimension. so i did not take the risk.. Most places that sell Duro Lock are selling at the same price. So far i did not come across shops that sell cheaper that that.
  8. I am not sure abt Starhub as i am using Singnet. Still under contract... Singtel charges a one time fee of $50 for telephone activation. It takes 4 working days. If i am not wrong, you are given 2 choices of numbers. But for me i was given only ONE, as she claims my area has limited numbers. Luckily we are able to accept this brand new number and not recycled number. As for internet, you can setup your singnet BB if you are using BB. Plus if you relocating your BB from your previous place, it is FOC. Provided the subscriber remains the same person.
  9. This brand is also available at Chuan Heng Hardware.. Although it is lifetime warranty against glass hob breakage, but it does not cover accidental breakage if you drop something on the glasstop..Hope the salesperson has informed you..This applies to all brands.. I also had reservations on using glass hob but game enough to try and its easy cleaning after cooking...
  10. I went for Kronotex, Exquisite Range...It has natural wood grains on the surface..
  11. Spinoff from Ellane. HOBz is a local brand. Yup.. started using...I will PM you tonight...
  12. Hi..I got my undermount sink Morning(MN) from Poh Joo opp Lavendar FC. It can be also be top mounted.
  13. Although i did not get them to fix up my a/c. I think you are very unlucky to engage them to install the a/c. But it could be some of those black sheep workers..Drilling through beams is not allowed as it may affect the structure of the bldg. Re-run is possible and comes with a price..i don't think it will be FOC. Some of the insulations, copper pipings & etc maybe damaged during removing..and thus a delay in your renovation as well. But if you intend to go ahead, i would advice you to be there with the installers and work together with them on the trunking layout to get what you really like. This goes the same for all your renovations as some workers will just anyhow mount and give you shabby job.
  14. I think streamline is much more easier for his carpenter to install.. Some contractors want to hv a easier way to earn your money.. But if you hv not buy your chimney, pse show the dimensions to your ID/carpenter whether it can be mounted. Because for my case, my kitchen has a horizontal pillar. But luckily it can be mounted, if not it would be very troublesome.. Ya..glass hob is more EX then SS. But my wife and i prefer glass hob and most brands comes with 1 yr limited warranty. And if it breaks, it must be due to heat that causes the glass to crack. And not human error. I got myself "HOBZ" glass hob and chimney hood. It a local brand. Comes with lifetime glass hob warranty Take the risk and try... Hope my gamble pays off..
  15. Yup..I was there to supervise..initially the workers suggested to patch up with colour silicon. But i insist(FOC mah) to change to prevent water from seeping in. Spent thousands of dollars already. Do not want any problems arising and regret later.. You should insist on the replacement. Since he is paid for the renovation work. Either you accept it or regret it later lor.. Itz his fault for not supervising his workers.. I also bark at my ID to protect the flooring if not i will definetly want him to replace no matter what. Or no payment..
  16. Almost all are comparable. What is your budget? 2 or 3 burners? Glass or SS hob? Decide on this first before narrowing down on brands.. I was also in a dilemma over choosing hob/hood.. Because i am a first time house owner, so for me my deciding factors are prices & warranty. Go to a few shops and ask ard. Take some time to decide..Many shops has different prices for same the models.. Frm what i know, Rinnai is suitable for chinese cuisine as the flame is strong. Happy shopping...
  17. i can't tell you as i hv yet to shift in and use the w/m. According to what samsung claims WA95UP saves 20% water..same.. But if you compare to front load, front load saves more water..Because you have to fill water to approx 3/4 of the tub for top load..whereas for front load, water to be filled in is approx half.. You can pop in to any of the big electrical stores(court, best) and ask them.. they will ans all your questions..But don't be easily sway by their honeyed mouth and buy on the spot..
  18. Hi, I am changing the blum hinges by myself..cost of blum hinges plus soft closing is ard $4. If you call up blum at Ubi, they will direct you to their authorised seller which is @ Upper Bukit Timah Road. If you intend to chg your drawers that has already been installed to blum runners, then you can't changed it. Unless you changed the whole drawer set.. !! If you are willing to spend more, they have another soft closing hinges Hafele which is more EX and better than blum, ard $6...Just a soft touch and the door will closed by itself..
  19. hey..i also got the same model from BEST with an extended warranty...
  20. Ya.. n'bour hardware or lelong shops sell those "cheong" magic cleaner ard $3-4 Whereas NTUC is selling originals magic cleaner retailing ard $10 I just got those "cheong" types to try it out..
  21. Depends on brand of T5 holder. I got a quote of $28ea with Osram light I am using T5 with electronic ballast. Electronic ballast is more lasting and generate less heat than T8 which is using those coil type ballast. Therefore save electricity. But it is more EX than coil ballast. Installation and connection wise is more easier and faster for T5. The T5 light will be "on" at an instant when you switch on. T8 light will flick a few times first. When the T5 light holder is spoilt, you chg the holder incl ballast. As for T8, you hv to buy the correct coil ballast and maybe holder and reconnect them. If you are not sure, you may hv to spend $$ and get an electrician. So there are pros and cons.. Pse correct me if i am wrong..
  22. I saw their advertisment on thur straitstimes and their comparision btw gas and electric dryer. I hv not installed it. Just thinking if anyone in this forum has got it to share. Come to think of your pt 1, i hv already concealed my gas pt. If they are gng to tap from it, how are they gng to do it? As what you mentioned, the piping will be visible. And to what extent will depends on your w/m location and kit cabinets layout.. hmm..might pop by citygas and find out more..
