  1. I tried Elsie catering. it was okkkk, they had a value for money pacakge but the fried food was cold when it arrived. Anyway if you want crispy fried food, guess you have to fry it yourself!
  2. Can anyone be sure of the painting quality? My rental place was painted before i came over, owner said it was painted with Dulux, good brand. Shortly after the paint start to peel. what does it mean? The quality of paint is no good or the painter did not 'set the paint well/ did not allow first coat to dry' or what? Now going to have an argument with the landlord when returning the unit for sure..
  3. I have tried helping hands - not bad. but end up add on this and that.. was about 50% more expensive than i budgeted. but i like the idea of helping the under privilege.
  4. Couldn't find a suitable topic so started new.. anyone with a recommendation of bed mattress? Thinking between Simmons or Sealy. Budget 2000-3000. Thanks in advance!
  5. hi Elbe77 I tried them and the service is really easy to use. I can't speak on their behalf if they will send a good servicer but th one that came to my place (acc to my helper) was effective and efficient. you can check out the other comments about aircon.guru http://www.renotalk.com/forum/topic/36485-aircon-servicing-coolserve-after-service-warranty-90-days/?hl=aircon.guru#entry917185

  8. As someone who is renting, i must say that it is also a headache for me. Just move into a new rented place, after my first rental finished. The first place was a nightware! the LL was horrible! The place i had was fully furnished. Of course he furnished it with cheap *kea things so when the sofa bed was worn out, he claimed i have damaged it! it was a nightmare settling it, and i couldnt get back my deposit. So for this new place i chose unfurnished. yes another kind of headache but i enjoyed shopping for my stuff..
  9. This aircon guru sounds interesting. anyone tried them? Wana hear more reviews before i book them... mine is due for cleaning soon..

  11. i have been reading about aircon sizing as well (for my new place in my kampong not here) and like what HVAC indicated location and heat/ sun are important factors in the BTU calculation. I got this from one website (aircon.guru) As every room condition is different, following scenarios should be taken into consideration to fine-tuning the sizing calculation: Capacity should be reduced by up to 10% should the room is well shaded.Capacity should be upped by 10% if the room gets a lot of the sunlight.Capacity should be upped by 600BTUs for each additional occupant of the room if more than 2 people inhabit the room. The capacity should be upped by 4,000 BTUs if the air conditioner is installed in the kitchen.Take into account the location of the installation of the air conditioner. If it is located in a corner of the room, the unit should be able to maneuver the air to the right way to maximize the cooling effort.A standard bedroom is 12 square meters (4m x 3m) and in a warm country the usual capacity for such an air conditioner unit in this room will be 9,000 BTU. The living and dining room locations will normally need a bigger capacity unit (18,000 or 24,000 BTUs)
