  1. This china lady is juz a sale lady that the company hired. She basically follows what the company tell her to say. Technically i doubt she can understand how & what the spec means.
  2. My thinking is to do a good installation of better material ( 1/2 inch insulation with either Armaflex or thermflex + R410 gas) Down the road say 8yrs later, aircon units die but I only need to change the compressor & fancoil ( or upgrade to invertor). Save $$ for the trunking. If you inferior insulation, the material will lose its function over years, juz like a rubber band turns hard and break after some time. Those companies recommend their inhse brands so that they can have continous business. If use good material that can last >10yrs, they got no business liao. That's why in my earlier posts i said that they will ask you to top-up if to upgrade to Armflex or thermflex. If their insulation is really good then why top-up??? Their profit is very high if use their own brand insulation. In the end if you compare material apple to apple, the difference is less than $100.
  3. How much u spend for your curtains?
  4. I oso bought similar one at $135
  5. Most aircon suppliers ( esp big ones) carry their own house brand insulation. Material will be less inferior compare to commerical types : Class 0 Armaflex and thermflex. They will claim that their inhouse types are better coz they carry mah. Their installation fees tend to be cheaper if u notice. Most sales guys only sell for comission coz they know customers know nuts about aircon, so they smoke u till GONG GONG. Go for either Armaflex or thermaflex, these are reliable types ( lao zi hao) that have low thermal conductivity that give better condensation control hence energy saving. Like what I said in my previous posts...go for better installation as the range diff is only $100~$200. Fyi. aircon suppliers earn much on installation than selling aircon units. If you ask them to use Armflex or thermaflex, see if they ask for top-up. If yes, you know their insulation standard liao. If they claim theirs is better why need to top-up.
  6. Best to do before doing any flooring done so as to prevent damaging the tile/laminate/parquet. If you want to conceal your trunking by false ceiling or wardrobe, then u better to the aircon installation 1st. My advice is not conceal the trunking so that if any leakage happen , u don't have to tear down the false ceiling or wardrobe to recify the problem. Save $$ Installation can be done in 2 trips - 1st trip : Install piping/trunking ; 2nd trip to install the fancoil ( after painting). 1st trip takes about ~5hrs...2nd trips...3hrs ( no bracket) .. ~4hrs ( with bracket). Is around that range.
  7. No exactly model lah. In layman term, R410 is the type of refrigerant ( some ppl call new gas). In future, R410 will phase in to replace R22 to protect the environment. Think many aircon supplier trying to clear their models that use R22. Coolserve promotion mainly all Daikin aircon using R22 gas.
  8. I am not sure abt toshiba model. For MS non-inverter system 3, there're 2 different models - one uses R22 and other one uses R410A. The latter is more ex coz the refridgerant is 2x the price of R22. Based on my research, those toshiba & MS price range <2k are mostly R22. You need to specify them in your package. Do go for PVC pipe 16mm dia to allow condensed water to flow better else your compressor have to work harder coz of pressure. When doing installation, try to minimize the trucking distance from your compressor to fancoils, again help to improve efficiency thus save energy. Can improve the aircon life span. Don;t be surprised why different households though ON the aircon ( same system & same duration ) , their bill is different, this has to do with the installation. That's why I rather pay more for installation with better insulation. I choose R410 also partly to save the environment & able to keep the trunking when upgrading to new aircon on R410. tHowever, if you belong those that seldom use aircon, a 2k price range is good enough. That's my 2 cents thought
  9. I believe this price uses R22 refridgerant. Do take note that Cu pipe need to change if change to R410A refridgerant in future coz of any residues/moisture left in the pipe can cause corrosion when reacts with R410. Maybe you guys want to take this into consideration.
  10. 9-12k is not sufficient for a living room. Need to consider the heat generated from TV and lightnings. If fan-out is too small, the compressor will need to work extra harder to keep the temp constant. This will diminish the compressor life. >12k BUT is definitely need for a living room/dinning hall. In fact, there're are ppl who use separate aircon units for living & dinning.
  11. Ya, from coolserve. Ex by 400 for system 3 non-inverter
  12. Ask to see if the $800 can used to buy home appliances. 1k to hack thing is to ex IMO. PM u some advice.
  13. You shld wait for the quote and discuss before placing any deposit. Wrong move by you to pay the deposit without seeing anything. I believe the deposit cannot be refunded. Ask to view the 3D dwg and see if the quote can reduce further. End of the day if you still not comfortable with Cis...rn, forget about the deposit else u lost even more as u proceed further. Go find another ID.
