  1. Haulage mainly for moving cement, tiles etc, usually lump together with clearing debris.
  2. 1. Charging you $1,500 for design, project management... It's definitely not a market standard, 1 ID firm quote me that also and that's 1 sign that they are not going to be cheap. 2. All your carpentry pricing is 20-30% above market rate. $130 per feet run for kitchen cabinets, $280 per feet run for sliding wardrobe. These are market rates. 3. Your counter top is using kompacplus which at $120 per feet run, is also too high. It should be around the $90 mark. 3. Your flooring is around $9 psf which is too high, $7 psf is more reasonable for evorich herf. 4. Beware of hidden costs. Some stuffs are not included in your quotation. For example, cement screeding. Are you getting HDB to do it for you? Hood, hob, kitchen sink installation, bathroom accessories installation, heater installation etc are all not taken care of in your quote.
  3. Maybe you can highlight to the contractor and see what he can do. It seem most of your quote is really low except for the kitchen cabinets, my ID quote me for cabinets with blum soft closing and internal colour PVC is about $130 pfr.
  4. All ok except kitchen cabinets pricing high. Overall ok.
  5. For ID, standard is produce 3D after you confirm. But detailed quotation must be produced before you confirm, if not how to confirm? The contractor is trying to be funny, look for others. When comparing quotation between ID and contractors, you need to take note of the details. For example kitchen cabinets, ID will usually quote cabinets with internal coloured PVC and blum soft closing fittings while contractors usually quote white internal PVC and normal hinges so while contractor might seem slightly lower but the material used are also inferior. Range of laminates available to choose, brand of quartz top, type of vinyl flooring etc might also be different between ID and contractors. These are the kind of things that you need to take note of in the quotation portion to ensure you get a fair deal.
  6. My payment terms are similar. 10% upon confirmation, 40% upon commencement, 45% upon capentry installation, 5% upon completion. You will be hard pressed to find any ID which give you favourable terms.
  7. Your quote is expensive, look elsewhere.
  8. The quote is reasonable, pricing is similar to what my ID quote me. Masonry work for the above quote is high though, yours should be more reasonable. Quartz have many brands and range but the quote never state type so I guess is those brand less type so pricing is lower.
  9. Absolook is also one ID coy that seem to be popular and reasonable priced from what I know. If I didn't get my ID from Weiken then I would probably go there to try my luck. The first coy I visited RnR quote me very high price though which put me off even though the ID is perfectly fine. 2nd coy *****, pricing wise is more reasonable but ID doesn't give me the confidence that he can do a good job. 3rd time lucky, met this ID from Weiken whom was introduced by my friend. Click with this ID perfectly and more or less decided to go with him pending on his quotation. When we get the quotation, his pricing actually is the lowest among the rest and also when comparing against the quotations here and those shared by my friend, I realised his quotation is really very very reasonable so I just confirm with him as can't really find fault with him. So my advise is just go out and look for that correct ID and hopefully he give a reasonable quote.
  10. If you are looking for lowest price then go for individual contractors is the best. But you need a lot of time to work with individual contractor. If you want convenience and also design ideas then get a ID. Slightly higher price but people also need to make a living so understandable. If you want to save some money and know what you want to do and have your own design then get a main contractor to oversee the project.
  11. Creation Axx? I saw their Facebook page and see that their pricing seem very low so I go to Google them. I notice they advertise proudly that aluminium piping is better which from my knowledge is BS so I didn't bother to contact them for quotation. Do not accept aluminium tubing for aircon, it's pure BS.
  12. I am using weiken but you are actually depending on the ID rather than the coy. I heard Weiken is expensive but when my ID quote me the price, I am surprised to find that it's actually very competitive. Instead of hearsay, I will advise you to talk to the ID and get a quotation to compare and see how is the ID. No point asking about the coy but rather you need a good ID.
  13. Close to 9k. Don't think you can get cheaper.
  14. I feel that the quote is reasonable.
  15. Is there a need to ask? Your first quote is expensive, 2nd quote is reasonable. Of course take the 2nd one.
  16. Difficult to cut to 40k as your quote from ID is not too high to start with. Maybe can cut down to 43k if go the contractor route.
  17. It is a reasonable quote by an ID, not likely to go much lower. You can go around to ask for quote to compare.
  18. ID are quoting me around 6.5+ psf for vinyl tiles from Europe. The European manufacturer are more expensive follow by the Koreans. Not sure whether anybody use China made. With the European made, 10 years warranty is the norm. A 4rm BTO will cost $4k+ for living room and bedrooms.
  19. The quote is kind of high considering the work done especially the carpentry portion.
