I believe this is the dimension, L237xW102, H74cm. So it will take 1/3 of your kitchen excluding chair, which if at both end may take up another up to 1m. So ended up you may have a very (very) small kitchen. So depending on your needs, but the table will be too long for my liking. You may not have much space for kitchen cabinets, plus all the things you need to put in like fridge, hood, hob, oven, sink, etc...

Haven't really taken a closer look at Seahorse sofa, but my wife kinda cannot believe it will look nice, so need to check it out before deciding. Quite a few forumers seems to recommend it, so much check out to compare else later regret. Haha...

Thanks! Have spent the last weekend sofa hunting. On the way home was passing by Compass Point (along TPE) and was wondering if Seahorse has a shop there, but was too tired so didn't want to take the risk, if only I go and check it out! That will save me 1 trip. Ok, will make it a point to go down there, not too far from my place by TPE anyway. Or maybe the TB one since near my workplace, can go there for lunch. Silver River? Beng Tuan? Will check out the address on eguide (yellowpages sucks, I check 3 addresses over the last week and 2 turn out wrongly). These 2 places will leave it till this weekend. BUSY BUSY BUSY! Still got lots of things to sort out. Time is running out!

Last week Tempur put an advert in The Straits Times advertising CNY sales (while stocks last) Comfort Pillow Plus $138 (UP $209) Comfort Pillow $188 (UP $299) Hug Pillow $288 (UP $399) All major departmental stores are running their promo.

Was at Ikea Alexandra today also and it's under major reno at the 1st floor as they take back all the shops and revamp the entire 1st floor. Realise quite a lot of empty shelves, not sure if they are holding back some stocks as they reno the place.

Any idea which Seahorse outlet has a better selection of Sofa to check out? Some of the outlets are way too small and have maybe 1 or 2 sofa in it only. Want to check it out before I make my final decision.

I have an older S series, 32" and love it. The colors are very good. It's a Sony. Heehee...now looking for a FULL HD model but Sony price is way too high, sigh...so also looking at Samsung and Philips to compare. Which shop in IMM you got it from? The prices looks cheap, makes me wanna forget about FULL HD and get another Sony.

It may not may not be lower. In the event it (the price) is not lower, expect a lot more freebies during these shows compare to usual. But I think the vendors are already anticipating as they are dishing out some cool freebies this month. For example, some Samsung models comes with 19" or 26" or even 32" LCD FREE when you purchase some of the LCD models. Philips is giving out $600 Philips vouchers for some models. I do remember these same freebies were given out a few months back. Now they seems to be back again.

I'm quite happy with Samsung fridge, reasonably priced and quite nice looking. For washer, I got a Brandt washer. I used to own one that last me about 5-6 years and gave way. Got a Thomson that lasted longer, about 7-8 years and finally RIP. Am getting a Brandt again due to budget. Bought a display unit at $350 off the normal price. Will be taking delivery in 2-3 weeks time as house not ready. But mine is 5.5kg model, slim type, not sure about bigger model as never use so big one before.

Was at Courts mega store at Tampines yesterday. All the sub-$1000 sofa sets (either 3+2 or L-shape) seems to be 'simulated leather', which I believe is PVC. Only saw one full leather 3+2 at $1480 but design wise is not to our liking. Usual price I think is $2000+. The rest are all $1800 and above (after discount). Saw 1 or 2 designs we like but are all in the $2000+ range (again after discount price). Also went to this furniture warehouse at Upper Thomson (next to the row of 3 petrol stations). Saw 2 sofa sets (3+2) that we like, one is about $1580, the other I think is couple of hundreds more. Half leather. Still contemplating to go for that or just go for something cheap, like the IKEA half leather 2.5 seater, and than go with an armchair. Coz on a tight budget as many other things to buy. Or else may just go without sofa for now. Also saw a display set sofa that we are considering, under $1500 for a L-shape sofa, full leather. But worried display set many many many (you get the point) sit before, may not be as lasting. And not very 'clean' look liao.

Yeah, used them in my old house, and my mum saw and love it, so bought 2 long and 1 short ones for her bathrooms. Will be getting these for my new house too. Also thinking of the same series toilet cabinet, only thing is it is sliding door, don't quite fancy sliding doors, will have to check it out and see how sturdy it is.

My experience of window-grill-mountable type. Noisy as the condenser is together with the unit. Not cool enough. Very noisy. How much you got the quote for the StarMex system 4? if you need living room and 3 bedroom make sure the BTU is enough. I think the Starmex only 25000. So if you on living room and bedroom, may not be cool enough. Also depending on the site of your living room, 1 may not be enough. There is one from Mitsubishi heavy industrial, sys4 inverter but slightly better at 26000 (condenser). Toshiba I understand is 30000+. That is my research so far as I also looking for sys4 inverter but for 4 bedrooms.

Thanks Max383 for sharing, you sure have lots of lobang. Heehee... -
It always helps when you have something to reference too! If you like what you see, than go for it, do make sure you ask their opinion about different wood type used. Cheers!

I learn something new again today. Thanks!

So far the water heater I use always initially when on become super hot than later than will change to correct temperature. If forgot and stand under the shower and turn on directly, will sure get scale by the hot water. I was flipping through the newspaper and saw some that says come with anti-scaling constant temperature feature. Wonder if this means what happen to all my water heater will not happen on this type of water heater. Anyone has used such heater before? Need to get 2 heater soon for my new place.

I see, the way iRobot market it is like Roomba is specilise in vacuum and Scooba is specialise in mobbing. Guess that's how they make money. Anyone else can share whether you use only 1 or use 2? I have a Kracher and it actually serves me quite well, but new house is much bigger than the old one, so kinda trying to find the easy way out

keltong replied to sakae sushi's topic in Sound and Vision -Home Theatre Systems & Audiophiles
Maybe my mum got a bad deal, but that is where opinion is formed, hahaha....I'm sure plasma has it's merit else how come still selling so well, just that I happen to come across a bad one, so make me frown on one. Maybe one day my opinion will be change. -
Stylish Dustbin Or Rubbish Bin To Put At Home. Where To Buy?

One worry is that sensor gets faulty more easily than hinges. And since from overseas warranty will be an issue. $98.80 for the 20L Matt surface looks good. Judging from what I read about it's review, may go and take a look at it. Thinking of checking out the Handi-Fix Simple Human one too to compare. -
There is this shop at Woodlands Civic Centre, but may be too far away from you. Haven't been there for a few months now so not sure if it is still there. At the 4th level I think. It sells quite a fair bit of children stuff. I didn't buy anything from them, almost all my kids stuff are from Ikea.

LCD or Plasma TV
keltong replied to sakae sushi's topic in Sound and Vision -Home Theatre Systems & Audiophiles
Hi tingshen, my mum uses LG plasma TV. Already the top left corner can see one patch of lighter color. The burn-in is not as bad, the new technology seems to be able to 'erase' over time. Immediately after a soccer match, I can see the score burn into the screen. Then it seems to go off after a few days but a patch of lighter color remains. If I am watching another program, the logo will be burn in again. For lights, if my TV is in the end of the hall, the light been on top and the TV at certain height, I can see the ceiling light reflected on the TV. Maybe it can be adjusted but sometimes the place I can put the TV is restricted. As I mentioned, it's just a personal preference that I do not like glossy screen and I know many who like it and swears by it, but for me, I will not get one now. -
Thanks!

Yup, the slim dryer still serves me well till today! A little cranky at times but hey, after so many years, it deserves to be a little cranky. 5kg for me is ok, small family, think just nice. Brandt and Thomson 'same' company? Hmm...ok, I will go take a look at their model and compare pricing. Thanks!
